Film director Ken Russell has become the second celebrity to leave the Big Brother house in just two days.
He decided to walk out of the Channel 4 show after a row with Jade Goody, who arrived in the house with her boyfriend and mother on Friday night.

Russell, 79, said some of the surprises were "a little too much to take" and called himself a "fuddy duddy".

Rock singer Donny Tourette escaped from the Big Brother compound on Friday after just 48 hours.

Verbal swipe

The cause of the argument between Goody and Russell was the servant task set by the show, in which eight celebrities were told they had to wait on Goody, her family, and three other contestants - including Russell.

A row broke out in which Goody took a verbal swipe at the veteran film-maker for helping himself to food, instead of getting a "servant" to give it to him.

Carole Malone

The pair called a truce soon after the argument, but he still decided to quit the Channel 4 show.

Grand entrance

He had already threatened to quit this morning after a run-in with Goody's mum Jackiey.

Housemates were told of Russell's departure earlier today, when journalist, Carole Malone was handed a laminate revealing his exit.

Malone said: "He was a lovely old man, I shall miss him."

Russell is the oldest contestant to take part in Big Brother so far.

He made a grand entrance by singing to the cheering crowds outside the house when the show began on Wednesday.

He became well known for making controversial films such as Women in Love and The Devils.

I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought that was out of order, my friend said I was overreacting to it but I thought it was highly insulting. How come no one said a damn thing to her about it???

I did too! what a thing to ask someone! Jades mother is vile and i think she will be first out on wednesday!

I hope she is the first to go...she is really annoying me and it's annoying me that she hasn't been warned about making comments like that. I can't understand how she got away with it. If I were BB I would have given her a rollicking. I just hope the grandparents are less ignorant than she is but she must have gotten that attitude from someone.

This series has been well boring!! I've been flicking over to that superstar program most of the time instead. Even that's more interesting.

Ive been doing the same but Im hoping soon Big brother will pick up again.

I haven't really found this series that good either...though i do prefer the normal Big Brother to the celebrity version. I've tried to get into this series but i just can't. I keep flicking over to Soapstar Superstar too.

Leo has became the third celebrity to leave the Big brother house.
After a heated arguement with Big Brother in the diary about underwear,Leo stomped to the living room wher most housemates were gathered and said

"I'm leaving the House guys cos Big Brother won't provide me with underwear," he announced

The housemates did not think he was serious but Leo had a dramatic exit where he battered his fist on a two-way mirror.Dirk said
"Don't do anything rash," said Dirk

I'm not," said Leo, grabbing a broom from the kitchen and forcing his way through one of the walls.

"He's gone!" said Ian.

"Everyone's going mad in here," nodded Jo.

"I can't believe he's gone!" said a shocked Danielle

So the eviction toinght is between Carole and Dirk

Did he run before he was sent packing???? - not fair on the other 2 up for eviction, I don't want Carole to go or Dirk, Not watched a lot but what I have seen of those two I like.
