The next film is going to be based on Ian Fleming's first novel in which James Bond is assigned the task of beating SMERSH agent Le Chiffre at various card games at the Casino Royale. Bond wins, but Le Chiffre kindaps him and his lady friend Vesper Lynd. In a classic torture scene, Le Chiffre trortures Bond but is later killed, Vesper Lynd later reveals that she is double agent and commits suicide.

The film is going to contain the torture scene'

The film will not be set in France, as the orginal book was.

A problem facing the writers is that Casino Royale was set in one location, and Bond films are traditonally famous for travelling the world and having various locations per film.

Casino Royale was made into an "unofficial" spoof film in 1966 featuring David Niven.

It was the only book of Flemings never to be made by MGM, and due to legal reaons Casino Royale could never be made due to the 1966 spoof. But recently the company that makes James Bond has obtianed the rights and can finally do Fleming's novel justice.

As we have seen in the recent film: Batman Begins, the story is of the protagnists past

Casino Royale is to do the same, showing a younger Bond in his first years in the service.

Writers, however, are insiting that it will not be a period film set in the past, it will be set in the present, but how can that work? all will be revealed

So far confirmed signings to the film are John Cleese as Q and Judi Dench as M.

Confirmed locations are Prague, featured in many a James Bond film and South Africa, never used in a Bond film except for a small title sequence in Diamonds Are Forever.

    But Who Will Be Bond?

Despite countless newpaper reports suggesting Peirce Brosnan, Jude Law, Colin Farell, Robbie Williams, etc the final four Bond hopefuls have been revealed.

an 80 something man sleeping with 20 something girls would be peverse, that is why roger moore was sacked when he was only in his 50s!

besides i could hardly see james bond running away from a villain using a zimoprhrame could you?

sean connery was a legend in his day, the role of james bond has developed since then, sena connery representated the time of which he was bond, just as perice as represented a modern day hero, and i for one cant wait to see what the new bond has to offer
