Coronation Street's Todd Grimshaw collapses on the cobbles next week, after a week of disgusting abuse from Theo Silverton leaves him absolutely broken. But is this the moment that more people start to realise what's going on?

Theo's control has taken a new turn in recent days, as he has cut off Todd's access to any bank accounts and forced him to rely on meagre handouts of cash. But with the effects on Todd noticeable, this could start to arouse suspicion?

"Theo has cruelly deprived Todd of food and money, so Todd has no fight left in him," our Corrie source explains. "After possibly the worst week that Theo has subjected him to thus far, Todd passes out on the cobbles at George and Christina's feet.

"It's absolutely tragic to see Theo's abuse starting to take a toll on Todd's health?"

With Theo still away in Doncaster, concerned George and Summer Spellman treat Todd to a tasty takeaway from Speed Daal ? and he's glad of their generosity until he notices a stream of missed calls from Theo.

When Todd realises that Summer is skint, he immediately feels guilty so secures a wage advancement from George and kindly gives her half.

Todd's money worries continue when he has brunch with James Bailey and lies about leaving his card at home so that James will pay ? yet when Theo arrives back home, he rails at Todd for wasting money.

Dishing out a measly tenner to Todd, Theo demands that he buy something for their tea and keep the receipt. Then while Todd is out, Theo callously throws out Billy Mayhew's photograph and discovers the takeaway bag in the bin?

"Theo presents Todd with the greasy takeaway bag and berates him once again about the calorie content of a curry," our spy continues. "He then pressures starving and shattered Todd to go out on a run - and as Todd limps down the Street in pain, James watches on with worry.

"We can only hope that James will intervene after seeing Todd in such a sorry state?"

When Todd returns from his run, he's suspicious to notice that Billy's photo is missing. After getting intimate with Theo, Todd emerges from the bedroom wincing and sporting a painful love bite on his neck, which Theo is smug about.

While shopping at the Corner Shop later, Todd is rattled by Jake Windass's teenage teasing about the love bite, causing Todd to round on him and snap back.

"Todd feels humiliated by the love bite Theo has given him, and Jake's jokes really hit a nerve," our insider says. "Gary is forced to intervene, so calls Theo to tell him about the pained outburst ? leading Theo to lie furiously in wait for Todd to return home?"

Forced into another run by Theo, weakened Todd heads out again ? but collapses on the cobbles before he can make it home.

As alarmed George and Christina tend to him, will Todd's fatigued condition force him to reveal what Theo has been putting him through?

Coronation Street's producer Kate Brooks recently spoke about the future of Todd and Theo's story ? hinting at which characters could ultimately uncover the truth.

"We can't sustain this forever," Brooks said. "Certainly Todd will start to realise that maybe all is not what it seems, as will other people around Todd.

"Todd's got a great surrogate family around. He's got George, who he absolutely adores. He's got Summer, Christina, and Gary as well ? kind of by default!

"So there are people starting to look out for Todd and realise that he's not behaving how he should be behaving ? and he's becoming a broken shadow of the person he once was. It's how they deal with that, how they rally, how they approach something so delicate and sensitive, which will be how we explore that story further."

Coronation Street's Carl Webster hatches a sinister plan to set fire to the Chariot Square Hotel next week, after Ryan Connor sacks him on the spot. But will he succeed in razing Debbie's business to the ground?

Before being locked up, Debbie gives Ryan orders to keep the hotel up and running for however long she is sent down. So, when Carl refuses to help with an important errand, Ryan sees no choice but to fire him.

Carl is livid and hellbent on revenge ? leading him to devise a sick scheme to send the hotel up in flames?

"Carl becomes more and more devilish by the day," our Corrie source reveals. "It all kicks off with Ryan asking him to put some QR code stickers up around the hotel. It's not a huge ask, but Carl is still miffed at the fact that Debbie put Ryan in charge instead of him, so he refuses to play ball.

"Sensing hostility, Ronnie backs Ryan, but Carl isn't up for listening to his stepdad.

"Ryan later finds the QR stickers in the bin, which is the final straw that leads him to sack Carl. However, he doesn't have the slightest clue about how dangerous Carl's next move will be?"

Meanwhile, Adam Barlow informs Carl that there's a ray of hope for Debbie. As Debbie has recently suffered another Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), or mini-stroke, he's hoping to file this as evidence for a sentence reduction.

No matter how Carl responds, it's clear that he still has zero empathy for his mum, as he later plots to set fire to her beloved livelihood ? purely to get his own back on Ryan.

With Carl so full of rage, will he successfully blow up the Chariot Square? And if so, might the lives of innocent locals be on the line?

Speaking recently about how prison will change her beloved character, Sue Devaney ? who plays Debbie ? told us: "She's so frightened. She's never been anywhere like that. Everything's going to be stripped from her.

"Debbie's mask is going to be gone, isn't it? The dementia is taking every last bit from her, but also the prison is gonna be taking everything from her. And it's how she survives that."

I know that Domestic Abuse can take for many years and soaps want to show it as realistically as possible but I think with all the other difficult storylines going on at the same time, I hope that the Todd and Theo saga comes to an end sooner rather than later... Todd is the one with friends on the street, Theo has not really got any so Todd needs to be brave and stand up to Theo and end it.. he will get the support from the community to help him.

Coronation Street could expose Will Driscoll's savage attack on Daniel Osbourne next week, as suspicious Daniel learns the truth about his student's volatile temper. Is it only a matter of time before Will has to explain himself?

When Daniel meets his supposed attacker, an imprisoned man called Colin, he realises immediately that the guy is innocent. Could Daniel uncover the truth?

"Daniel's attacker is hiding in plain sight," our Corrie source points out. "Despite Maggie Driscoll's best attempts to cover up her grandson's crime, Will's jealous streak means his temper can't go unnoticed much longer?"

Daniel was left for dead in the ginnel on Christmas Day, when vulnerable Will attacked him in a fit of jealousy.

Twisted Megan Walsh is grooming Will, promising him a future while rubbing her romance with Daniel in the teenager's face.

But despite Daniel's suspicions that Will has an inappropriate crush on Megan, he is oblivious to the real reason he was attacked.

As part of a restorative justice programme, Daniel meets the man who was jailed for assaulting him after Maggie's sly scheming on Christmas night. But once he meets Colin, it doesn't take long for the teacher to realise this wasn't the man who left him for dead.

Later that day, Daniel's suspicions are raised even further when he overhears Maggie scolding her grandson over his terrible temper.

Having already witnessed Will's bad moods, and jealousy over Megan, Daniel starts to suspect Will was behind his attack...

Will Daniel uncover what really happened to him on Christmas Day? And if he manages to expose Will, how will Megan react?

Beth Nixon, who plays Megan, recently confirmed the future of her character's dark story by promising that she'll eventually be caught out.

"I have to do it justice to serve the people who have been through it," Beth told BBC Radio York.

"There's been a rise in cases, and a few in Manchester, so you just have to try and handle it with as much care as you possibly can."

Beth added that Will eventually "comes to realise he is a victim [and that] it's not love and she will get her comeuppance".

Coronation Street will share a major update for David and Shona Platt next week, amid baby Harper's emotional plot. Will the family finally get some good news?

The joy surrounding Shona's pregnancy was quickly replaced by fear when a routine scan revealed that their unborn baby had an unusual mass on its neck. The mass was later confirmed as a potentially cancerous tumour, leaving the expectant parents terrified.

Since her birth, baby Harper's condition has remained precarious and the doctors have been waiting for her health to improve in the NICU before being able to remove the tumour.

In Friday's episode next week (13 February), David and Shona visit Harper in the hospital, where they are given some big news. The consultant tells them that Harper is now strong enough for her operation, which will take place on 4 March.

The parents are both pleased and nervous about the update, and eagerly await the day they can bring their daughter home. Will everything go to plan?

Viewers know that baby Harper was named after Vincent Harper, the surgeon who helped deliver her safely into the world. The character drove from Bristol to operate on Shona as their doctor was stuck in Lithuania during the emergency.

Despite his brief appearance on the soap, Vincent made a lasting impact on the Platts. As well as being Harper's namesake, he revealed that the pair also share a birthday.

However, it's unlikely that he will be making another visit to Weatherfield for Harper's upcoming surgery.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/cor...am-drugs-plot/

Coronation Street's Sam Blakeman turns to drugs to improve his falling grades next week, after twisted Megan Walsh attempts to ruin his reputation. As the only person wise enough to observe Megan's grooming of teenage boys, Sam is now in her sights.

To keep her secret safe, Megan is using underhand tactics to show him the consequences of speaking out. Will he be able to rise above it, or become her next unwitting victim?

"Sam's fighting a losing battle against devious Megan," our Corrie source warns. "She knows how important school is to studious Sam ? and she's about to wreck it.

"Megan will do anything to keep her sick secret safe, no matter how low?"

Megan's vendetta against Sam aims to show him what she's capable of if he tries to cross her. And the stakes couldn't be higher. If Sam reveals what he knows, Megan's life is over.

However, after Megan's manipulation, Sam is trapped ? even if he tells the truth, he might not be believed?

At school, Sam is confused when Daniel Osbourne reveals that his essay has gone missing. Viewers recently saw Megan sneakily steal Sam's work, taking the opportunity while Daniel was making his way through a pile of marking at the Rovers Return.

Realising Megan is behind the sabotage, Sam becomes furious. Feeling the burden of carrying Megan and Will's terrible secret, Sam gets concerned about his slipping grades.

"Sam's finding it hard to concentrate after Megan's threats," our spy continues. "When he hears Daniel talking about students misusing ADHD medication to boost their studies, Sam's intrigued. It's so out of character for Sam, but it's all down to Megan?"

The next day, as Sam sets off for school, he gets a text offering him Ritalin for ?5 a tab. Sly Megan also approaches him with an offer of extra support at school, claiming that she's worried about his work. Which path will Sam take?

Later in the week, Megan begins sowing more seeds in her campaign against Sam. She lays it on thick with Daniel, pretending that Sam hates her and that he threw her tutoring offer back in her face.

Will Daniel believe the picture Megan has painted of model student Sam? Or will her efforts to destroy Sam's credibility as an honest teenager pay off if he succumbs to taking drugs in secret?

Coronation Street's producer Kate Brooks first teased this story last month, warning that Sam would face a tough time once he knew the truth about Megan.

"[Sam] potentially gets wind that something's amiss," Brooks said. "We will see the lengths that Megan will go to in order to manipulate Sam and to keep him quiet, and it will be massively detrimental to Sam's wellbeing."

Coronation Street's Lauren Bolton and Ollie Driscoll have their first date next week ? heading to the Bistro for a cosy meal together. Could the barmaid finally be lucky in love?

After the pair got on brilliantly on Christmas Day, Ollie asks his Rovers co-worker Lauren on a date. Over dinner at the Bistro, Lauren happily chats away to her handsome companion.

"After Lauren's ordeal with evil Joel, and her ex-boyfriend Max getting banged up for more than six years halfway across the country, she hasn't had much success with finding love," our Corrie source points out.

"Though, neither has Ollie after he was abruptly dumped by Dee-Dee. They both deserve happiness and have a great laugh together, so hopefully nothing goes wrong ? but this is Weatherfield, so we won't be buying a wedding hat just yet?"

Following on from their successful first date, Ollie invites Lauren to go to a student party in Fallowfield with him.

Excitedly telling Betsy Swain and Carla Connor about her night out, Lauren frets that she has nothing to wear.

Luckily though, style icon Betsy offers to lend her some party clothes.

Is this the start of something special for Lauren and Ollie?

The upcoming scenes could be good news for Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren, as she previously called for her character to enjoy a change of fortunes.

"The more stuff you go through in life, the stronger it makes you," Cait told Inside Soap last year. "That's what I want Lauren to be known for, because people who have been through experiences like Lauren's are warriors and survivors."

"After Lauren's experience with Joel, she's realised how she should be treated," Cait continued. "I'd like someone similar to her [as a love interest], who's genuine, down-to-earth and also relatable for the people watching.

"It would be a slow-burner, but hopefully they do bring someone in and I get a Corrie wedding!"
