Hollyoaks is adding to the already thriving McQueen clan as Sylvester McQueen, known to most as Sylver, arrives with the cloud of a tormented past hanging over him, having recently been released from prison. Raised on a farm by his loving but strict, catholic mother Breda and step-dad Vinnie, along with his half-sister Goldie, Sylver fell into the wrong crowd as a bored kid. But petty crime turned to tragedy for the family when he was locked up for killing his abusive step-father. Arriving in Hollyoaks and looking for somewhere to stay, Sylver turns to sister Goldie to put him up, and it doesn’t take long for them to start bickering in true McQueen style.

Hollyoaks' Goldie McQueen will soon have a blast from her past when she's visited by her long-lost brother.

Chelsee Healey made her big return as Goldie following maternity leave earlier in the year, and it looks like her character will be facing some serious family woes in the months ahead.

Hollyoaks is set to introduce Goldie's long-lost half-brother Sylvester 'Sylver' McQueen. He'll be played by David Tag, who previously turned up in the Channel 4 soap briefly a few years back as unrelated character PCSO Rocco.

Unlike PCSO Rocco, Sylver has spent most of his life on the wrong side of the law. He was raised on a farm with Goldie by their strict Catholic mother Breda and his abusive stepfather Vinnie.

Sylver turned to petty crime in his teenage years as an outlet for his pain, but was ultimately sent away to prison for murdering his and Goldie's stepfather. Fresh out of jail, he wants to start a new chapter and needs Goldie's help.

It's not long before the siblings bump heads — can they ever truly put the past behind them and find common ground? And which lady will find herself falling for Sylver's charms?

Sylver is the latest in the extended McQueen clan to appear on Hollyoaks, with the show currently also featuring Myra, Mercedes, Prince, Hunter and, of course, Goldie.

In other major Hollyoaks casting news, it was announced on Monday (May 21) that Stephanie Davis will be returning to screens as Sinead O'Connor later in 2018 after being notoriously fired by the soap three years ago.

Hollyoaks is bringing Sylver McQueen back from the dead for a special episode, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal. The village hunk is reappearing as part of a fantasy sequence which airs next month ? and it's one that fans won't want to miss.

David Tag returne"Sylver is returning as part of the special McQueen episode featuring fantasy scenes," our Hollyoaks source revealed. "The episode has a 'What If?' theme, exploring various scenarios which could have changed the course of the McQueens' lives over the years. John Paul is questioning his life choices and is asking what could have been different.

"David filmed some very entertaining scenes with James Sutton, who plays John Paul, and it was great to see him back on set after such a long absence."d to the Hollyoaks set in December, reprising his role as Sylver four years on from his dramatic exit scenes. And it's sure to be a memorable comeback, as Sylver plays an unexpected role in John Paul's final storyline.

News and rumours about the special McQueen episode have been gradually dripping out in recent days. First up, there were reports that Gemma Merna ? who played Carmel McQueen ? will make an appearance in the scenes.

Next, whispers suggested that Leah Hackett ? aka Tina McQueen ? will also be part of the special.

"There seems to be a theme developing, with many dead McQueens seemingly coming back," our insider points out. "Fans will have to wait and see how it all plays out, but a special episode like this is always a great opportunity to bring back some fan favourites who wouldn't be able to feature in the show otherwise.

"Carmel, Tina and Sylver all had dramatic exit plots which saw their characters lose their lives ? but now it appears they'll be back where they belong, even if it's only for a brief appearance!"

Our sources have told us that Hollyoaks came up with the special to celebrate 20 years since the McQueens' debut in 2006, as well as to mark John Paul's imminent exit from the show.

More details about the episode ? and other familiar faces who might appear ? will be revealed in due course.

Fans last saw Sylver McQueen in January 2022, when he died in an explosion at Marnie Nightingale's patisserie. Sylver was cruelly left to die by his 10-year-old stepson Bobby in a major storyline twist.

Since leaving, David Tag has appeared in Meet the Richardsons and independent LGBTQ+ film Departures.
