Justice comes quick in Weatherfield sometimes. A few days ago Becky the dead peeler was walking about, kidnapping, visiting senior officers apparently free as a bird. Nobody attempted to arrest her. Even Kit the Twit didn't know she was a fugitive. All of a sudden Betsy Boo visits her and she pleads guilty to some previously undiscussed crime gets convicted and sentenced to 12 yrs. No probation reports, no victim impact statements. Locked up key thrown away all over the weekend without even a court appearance. Justice is rapid in Starmers Britain

I'm sorry to have to correct you alan, but I think you will find it is justice in ITV's Coronation Street and has nothing whatsoever to do with Starmer's Britain.

What was she actually sent down for. Was it just kidnapping Carla, or was it also for her crimes with Costello? Will we ever find out exactly what the two of them were up to?

I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what exactly Becky has done, however, I just could not watch this whole storyline with any interest so I do not know.. Costello was involved at some time, I am sure, but what they did escapes me... and why did Becky threaten Lisa that she would take her down too if she got jailed??

Don't ask me. I fast forwarded through the whole Becky/Betsy/Lisa/Carla/Kit/Costello saga. Seems I didn't miss much!

Personally I do not think we will ever know, the full story, I do not think any one will, especially the writers. Was Becky and Costello taking kickbacks from the Curtis's? If I remember right! Becky was undercover in the Curtis gang to get them sent down, so it cannot have been that. When Becky "died" to escape the Curtises I thought officers more senior than Costello were in on the plot. None of it ever made any sense. It seems to be the way in Soaps nowadays, where they just hint at things without ever fully explaining what is going on, or ever taking the time and effort to work out a credible story. Then when they have dragged it out long enough, simply wrap it up quickly and hope we will be happy about it.

They leave things deliberately open ended and ambiguous so that 4 or 5 years down the line they can recycle the Becky/ Curtis storyline in some new "explosive" plot that is sure to "rock the cobbles". It will probably involve Betsy Boo falling head over heels in love with the spawn of Becky which resulted from a one night stand with some high profile drug dealer
