    You have to apply for whichever visa (I expect in their case Non Lucrative Visa) which means they have to provide proof of savings (around €30000), you have to pay for private health isnurance which is costly and you cannot work.

    Wonder if Becky had a visa to live in Spain all the time she was "dead". We know she was bent but did she have that much money ? ?30,000 is not a huge amount of money and if you cannot work if would start to diminish from the moment you arrive. Do you have to leave when the money runs out? If she now returns on a different passport would she have go through the whole procedure again. Betsy could possibly get a student visa, but would Lisa be prepared to give up her job! The whole story is nonsense.

    Not every non-Spanish person living in Spain has a visa or pays taxes...
