EastEnders has confirmed that there will be two bonus episodes this festive season, as the full episode schedule for over Christmas and New Year is revealed.

Huge storylines will come to a climax this Christmas, including the escalation of Zoe Slater?s mystery tormentor and a special episode focusing on Nigel Bates?s dementia that will air on Tuesday, 23 December.

The BBC has confirmed that, like last year, there will be two 30-minute episodes of EastEnders airing on Christmas Day. The first instalment will air at 7.45pm, then the drama in Albert Square will resume at 9.45pm following the Christmas specials of Call the Midwife and Amandaland.

It?ll be a dramatic Christmas in Walford, as a situation escalates for the Slaters and the Beale and Brannings team up for a festive dinner that will no doubt be fraught with tension.

In the aftermath of these explosive events, there will be an extra episode airing on Boxing Day ? where the police arrive on the Square following an incident.

The drama continues for the Brannings in the final days of 2025, leading up to a groundbreaking New Year?s Day flashforward episode with Max at the centre of the sneak peek at 2027.

Monday 22 December - 7.30pm
The residents of Walford prepare to celebrate the screening of Nigel?s film, one resident makes a decision they may come to regret, and Zack sparks speculation.

Wednesday 24 December (Christmas Eve) - 6.55pm
Walford is abuzz with Christmas spirit for Yolande?s carol concert, the Slaters attempt to buoy up Zoe and Oscar accidentally reveals a truth.

A situation escalates at The Vic for the Slaters, and the Beales and the Brannings prepare to sit down to a joint family Christmas dinner.

EastEnders is set to uncover a huge secret involving Max Branning, as Oscar makes a shocking revelation. This won?t be the only bombshell exposed this Christmas, as a festive dinner with the Brannings and the Beales takes a very dramatic turn?

Returning Max begins the season distinctly lacking in Christmas cheer, as he stews on a huge secret that was recently revealed in The Vic.

As he makes his feelings clear and processes what?s occurred, Lauren and Jack are in damage control mode to try and keep Max calm. But can they stop him doing something rash?

Instead of listening to his loved ones, an emotional Max ends up taking advice from old flame Zoe, who herself is not in the most rational of moods as she grapples with her stalking stress. What hot-headed Max does next makes him even less popular than he already was among the locals.

Max?s shocking decision makes him rather unpopular in the Square as Christmas approaches. He is desperate to put things right with his son Oscar, but he gets distracted by Linda when he tries to resolve yet another of his current feuds.

With Max putting out fires left, right and centre, Oscar feels let down by his dad?s actions. He drowns his sorrows on Christmas Eve, before deciding to join his family at the community carol concert.

But as he continues to rage against his dad, the tipsy teen lets out another secret to Max that leaves him utterly floored and threatens to ruin the family festivities. Could this be connected to one of Max?s exes and an elaborate lie they've spun him?

Oscar?s bombshell sets the scene for a terribly tense meal as the Branning and Beale clans come together to have dinner on Christmas Day.

Kathy and Harvey get into the festive spirit, but things quickly go wrong when Cindy arrives at the house. Ian and Peter desperately try to keep her away from Max and stop them from meeting for the first time - but they offend Cindy when they tell her she?s not welcome!

Meanwhile, a moody Max mulls over Oscar?s revelation, and there are more explosive exposures around the table that rock both families - so much for Max trying to make amends with his children?

That?s easier said than done, as Christmas Day ends with the Brannings and Beales more at odds than ever. And there?s an even bigger clash to come?

When Kat bumps into Sam in the Queen Vic on Christmas Eve, she questions whether Sam is Zoe's secret stalker. However, Sam has come to the pub to seek support from Zack after discovering that she has cancer.

Later, as Kat and Alfie head to Yolande's Christmas carol concert, Zoe decides to stay home and makes a shocking discovery.

Meanwhile, Patrick and Chelsea try to support Anthony, aware that it's his first Christmas away from his ex-wife and children. However, Anthony isn't in the mood to celebrate.

Elsewhere, Oscar feels resentful towards Max after recent dramas. After too much to drink, he makes a revelation to Max ? which threatens to ruin the Branning family's Christmas.

Also today, Nigel doesn't remember what happened yesterday, while Barney notices Zack's feelings for Vicki.

Christmas Day arrives in Walford and Zoe is on tenterhooks after yesterday's discovery. The Slaters soon find themselves in an argument with another of the Square's families after a truth is revealed.

As a troubling situation unfolds, Kat decides to empty The Vic of the punters in a desperate bid to protect Zoe. However, it's seemingly no use as a worrying situation escalates, with catastrophic consequences for all involved.

Meanwhile, Zack is forced to take the pub's Christmas dinner back to No.31 in an attempt to save everybody's day.

Elsewhere, the Brannings and the Beales unite for Christmas dinner at No.45. Cindy returns, so Ian and Peter try to keep her away from Max ? offending her by making out that she's not welcome.

Max is still secretly pondering Oscar's revelation and chaos ensues at the dinner table as secrets are revealed.
