EastEnders' Sam Mitchell makes a sensational return to Walford this December, and she's soon up to her old tricks when she rummages around her brother Phil?s house for some cash! But when she reveals her worrying secret, will Sam?s family be willing to put the past behind them and be there in her time of need?

It has been announced that Sam's short stint back in Albert Square will see her diagnosed with breast cancer, but she is initially reluctant to tell her family about her health concerns.

When she arrives back home, she heads straight to Phil?s looking for money and gets Nigel Bates embroiled in her scheme. After mistaking Sam for his daughter Clare, Nigel allows her to make off with Phil?s cash.

Once Phil realises that the money is gone, he uses Nigel?s description of the thief to incorrectly identify Nicola as the culprit, so he goes to confront her.

Meanwhile, Sam comes face-to-face with her old rival Zoe Slater, who accuses her of being her stalker! Despite Sam?s denial, she soon ends up in a tense stand-off with Kat ? and as Phil spots them from across the Square, it quickly dawns on him who really stole his cash.

Slipping away, Sam covertly meets up with her son Ricky at McKlunky?s. However, when the pair are busted by Jack Branning, she threatens to leave Walford again.

Jack intervenes before she can go, which is when Sam floors him by revealing that she?s found a lump in her breast which she believes to be cancerous.

As Jack starts to question Sam on why she hasn?t gone to the doctors, a furious Phil arrives to reclaim his stolen money. Elsewhere, Denise learns about Sam?s health fears from Jack, so heads over to speak to her and strike a deal.

Later, Sam attends a family dinner hosted by Ricky Jnr and Lily at No.31, but it doesn?t take long for her to realise that Denise and Jack were bluffing about their mysterious offer.

Sam heads back to Phil?s, looking for a place to stay ? but an alternative scheme soon arises and she changes tact.

Soon, she has a new plan in place to get what she wants. However, when Sam fails to attend a doctor?s appointment about the lump, her concerned family confronts her?

As her loved ones stage an intervention, will Sam get checked out so she can face her cancer fears head-on?

EastEnders has confirmed heartbreak for Kim Fox next week, as she ends her engagement with her partner Howie Danes. But will she discover the true extent of his recent lies and theft?

This week's episodes begin with a surprise proposal from the postman, after he is caught with an expensive ring that he stole while delivering parcels. When Patrick assumes the ring is for Kim, inspired Howie decides to pop the question during the Square's Christmas lights switch-on.

Delighted Kim happily accepts and immediately starts planning an engagement party. But while most of the family are pleased for the couple, Anthony's suspicions are raised and he confronts Howie with evidence of his theft.

Fortunately for Howie, the doctor isn't the only one who has been doing some digging. He questions Anthony about his own shady behaviour and the pair reluctantly agree to keep each other's secrets.

However, at the engagement party, Anthony has second thoughts. The event ends badly for the newly-betrothed couple, with their three-year relationship going up in smoke.

Speaking about Howie's dodgy behaviour, actor Tameka Empson explained that Kim would be devastated by her fianc?'s lies more than anything else.

"It has taken her a long time to trust him and to build a life with their families coming together. It would be a real blow to her and she would question everything else that's gone on. Kim will feel so let down because Howie is not the person that she thought he was," she said of her character.

What exactly is revealed at the engagement party is still under wraps, but if Howie's secrets are uncovered, will he in turn expose Anthony?

The following week, Kim laments over her broken engagement while drowning her sorrows in The Vic. While drunk, she offers to sell the car that Howie bought her for Yolande's Christmas raffle.

Yolande gratefully accepts the generous offer. But later Kim is filled with regret as she realises what she has done. The Kimfluencer is known for being audacious, but will she risk upsetting Yolande by rescinding her offer?

Sam Mitchell returns and carries out a risky plan to steal money from Phil's safe. Zoe isn't pleased to see Sam and accuses her of being the secret stalker, which Sam denies. When Phil realises that Sam has stolen from him, he tries to deal with the situation but she slips away.

Sam meets up with Ricky in McClunky's. When Jack catches up with Sam, she shares some shocking news about her health...

Meanwhile, George checks in on Harry and accidentally reveals that Teddy plans to plead guilty ? which Nicola had deliberately kept from him. Harry spirals and reveals that he killed Okie, so George suggests that he should hand himself in. When Nicola arrives, she tries to distract Harry from his plan by telling George that she's pregnant with his child.

Elsewhere, Kim struggles after splitting from Howie.

Also today, Kat learns the truth about Anthony's marriage split and urges him to stay away from Zoe.

Sam explains to Jack that she has found a lump and believes it's cancer, but hasn't been to the doctors yet. Phil interrupts the conversation to take back the stolen money. Jack tells Denise about Sam's concerns, so Denise steps in and decides to strike a deal with Sam.

Later, when Sam attends a Branning family dinner at No.31, she realises that Denise and Jack have been bluffing about the deal. Sam asks Phil for a place to stay instead ? and a Plan B soon arises...

Meanwhile, Honey confirms to George that Nicola is telling the truth about her pregnancy. George and Nicola meet up to talk, unaware that Harry is taking drugs at home. By the time they return, they find a note revealing that Harry has gone AWOL.

Elsewhere, Kat warns Zoe to stay away from Anthony.

Also today, Jean excuses herself from Lily's family dinner when Stacey's name comes up.

Teddy's day in court arrives. When Harry tells Gina the truth about what happened to Okie, she and George convince Harry to head to court and support Teddy ? even though Nicola has warned him not to. In the courtroom, the Mitchells are shocked when they hear Teddy's fate.

Later, Barney decides to move in with Zack, sparking fresh tensions between Zack and Nicola. When Harry heads to The Arches to take more drugs, he accidentally overdoses.

Meanwhile, Sam goes ahead with her new plan. Jack and Denise warn Phil when Sam skips her appointment with the doctor, so the group head to confront her.

Elsewhere, Lauren makes plans for Oscar's 18th birthday party.

Also today, Kim is regretful when she learns that she drunkenly agreed to sell her car for Yolande.
