The car might not be worth as much as we think, depending if has a high mileage. Larger cars do not always hold their value in the second hand market in the way that smaller/compact cars do, due to higher running costs, parts, tax and insurance etc. Motor mechanics often buy cheaper second hand cars because they have the means to keep them running cheaper than others could.

I have just read that William Roache earns over ?250,000 a year, making him one of the highest paid soap stars. Although he filed for bankruptcy in 2024, after problems with HMRC. That is a lot of money considering how often we have seen him recently.

There are a couple of soap actors in the US who make upwards of $1,000,000 a year. Although TPTB usually do NOT make the higher-paid actors' salaries public.
