Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis has shared a little spoiler about the Australian soap's final ever episode and his role in it.

The show filmed its final ever scenes recently after being axed for the second time, with the last episode set to go out in December.

Paul Robison actor Dennis appeared on Loose Women this week to promote the new season of Strictly Come Dancing, which premieres this weekend.

While speaking to the panel, he revealed how Paul factors into the finale.

"I'm going to give it away. I say the very last line in the show," he said.

"It was a nice tribute Jason [Herbison], our executive producer, gave to me because he said, 'You were in the first episode. It's a no-brainer that you have to say the last thing.'"

When asked about how he felt about the show coming to an end a second time after it was previously saved by Amazon, he said the whole cast found it "really weird".

"Without getting into the politics of it but none of us kind know why it got axed this time around," he said. "It was rating really well all over the world, so we're all scratching our heads going, 'Why?'"

With Neighbours over, the actor said that he planned to "semi-retire" and have "one good gig a year", but then the offer to do Strictly came along.

Elsewhere in the interview, Dennis touched upon being fired from the soap five times.

He joked that one time he was told that he was axed because he was "too good", which he found bizarre as he was just doing what he was paid to do.

He recalled that, just a few days later, he was told that the writers had found a way to "save" his role, by having Paul lose a leg, which never ended up happening.

Strictly Come Dancing returns this Saturday on BBC One and iPlayer. Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Prime Video. Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
