Coronation Street's Adam Barlow faces another romantic setback next week as Alya Nazir prepares to leave Weatherfield.
The ITV soap is exploring a new-found chemistry between Adam and Alya, but they look set to be torn apart already in upcoming scenes.
As we've previously revealed, Adam and Alya grow closer this week as they continue to work together on a joint case.
They're interrupted when Alya's new boss Rich walks into Adam's law office and catches them passionately kissing when they're supposed to be working.
In follow-on scenes next week, Alya complains to Adam that their kiss has ruined her career as she's now in trouble for behaving unprofessionally.
Fortunately, Rich soon meets up with Alya and confirms that she's still able to take the planned work placement in Dublin.
This is thanks to Adam, who has spoken to Rich and assured him that any "misunderstanding" was his fault rather than Alya's.
Later in the week, Alya's grandmother Yasmeen spots her chatting to Adam again. Yasmeen spots the growing connection between the pair and wonders whether Alya is going to miss Adam more than she's letting on.
Adam's caring behaviour continues as he hands over an expensive law book to Alya as a gift.
Adam wishes Alya all the best with her time in Dublin, but now that she's falling for Adam, will Alya be able to bring herself to leave?
A temporary departure seems likely at this stage, as Sair Khan ? who plays Alya ? announced in December that she's expecting her first child with partner Nathan Chilton. The baby is due to arrive this spring.
