    Exclamation Emmerdale Spoilers 23rd - 27th June 2025

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emm...n-next-victim/

Emmerdale's Robert Sugden ends up in life-threatening danger next week ? when he's drugged and kidnapped.

Jealous John Sugden is desperate to despatch his long-lost sibling in order to protect his marriage to Aaron Dingle. But is he the one responsible for Robert's terrifying ordeal, or is someone else out to get him?

"Being released from prison and returning to the village is meant to signal a fresh start for Robert," begins our Emmerdale insider.

"Unfortunately, his homecoming is a disaster and it's about to get even worse. After clashing with John again, there's a very real chance Robert might not survive their confrontation?"

In the build-up to this new incident, Robert's attempt to settle in as Victoria Sugden's house guest is soured by an accidental outburst of violence towards his little sister.

Vic tries to stir her sibling from a deep sleep, only for him to physically lash out as he wakes from a nightmare about his traumatic time behind bars.

Victoria is left with a black eye, and Robert feels so guilty that he wants to move out. Vic knows he didn't mean to strike her and is concerned he'll be on the streets if he leaves, so she selflessly encourages her brother to stay.

Meanwhile, Robert's employment prospects also take a hit when he loses his new job ? thanks to some interference from a certain love rival.

"Caleb has agreed to give Robert a trial at the depot," our source explains. "But John is fuming and pressures Caleb to get rid of him.

"Caleb tries to let Robert down gently and fakes a reason why he can't take him on permanently. However, thanks to a slip of the tongue from Jai, Robert realises John is behind him suddenly getting the boot. Angry at his meddling, Robert seeks out his nemesis and a showdown ensues?"

When confronted by furious Robert, John makes no apologies about his actions and can barely contain his desire to drive his brother out of Emmerdale for good.

Once John sees Victoria's shocking injury, he becomes even more determined to get Robert away from his loved ones, convinced he's a dangerous presence in the community.

Robert then overhears John begging Vic to report the accidental assault. Being painted as a threat to his own family is upsetting for remorseful Robert, who turns to Aaron for comfort, only to be rejected by his ex.

Lost, lonely and feeling sorry for himself, Robert looks for a distraction.

"Robert hits the bottle and starts throwing himself at men," our insider reveals. "He's trying to make Aaron jealous, which fails miserably, and one of the randoms Robert hooks up with turns out to have a sinister agenda?

"On their date, the guy sneakily drugs oblivious Robert ? and John witnesses the whole thing."

Sensing an opportunity, calculating John steps in ready to turn the concerning scenario to his own advantage.

With vulnerable Robert unconscious and out for the count, John sneakily bundles his husband's old flame into his van and speeds off. What does he have planned?

"John has that all-too-familiar look in his eyes as he stares at comatose Robert," teases our insider. "Clutching a syringe, John contemplates his next move.

"Up until now John has put people in danger as part of his twisted 'hero complex', so he can take the glory of being the one who saves them.

"This time, will he be tempted to kill Robert in cold blood ? so he can get him out of the picture permanently?"

After drowning his sorrows and getting his flirt on to distract himself from Aaron's rejection, Robert finds himself in the back of a van with no idea how he got there.

Could this be an elaborate way for John to get Robert on side by making out he came to his rescue when he was spiked by his dastardly date? Or is Robert about to become his bad-boy brother's next victim?

Either way, Robert's fate is now in John's homicidal hands?

Emmerdale's Sarah Sugden undergoes a major operation for her cancer next week ? but tragedy strikes when the surgery doesn't go to plan.

Just when Sarah thought her baby dreams were finally coming to fruition, with Jacob Gallagher selflessly offering to be her sperm donor, Charity and Cain Dingle receive upsetting news and must break it to their granddaughter.

So, is her dream of becoming a mum over already?

"Jacob's trying everything to help Sarah have a baby," explains Joe-Warren Plant, who plays the junior doctor.

"He wants to step up to the mark after having upset her in the past. He doesn't like to see her suffer and this is his way of showing her he cares. He'll be there no matter what it takes."

Accidentally landing Sarah in hot water, Jacob tells Cain about his granddaughter's IVF plans, leaving him at the mercy of the mechanic's temper.

When Sarah sees her Grumpy's violent reaction, she has doubts ? until Jacob has a word.

"Jacob's trying to be Sarah's rock," shares the actor. "He's doing all he can to reassure everyone and do the right thing for Sarah.

"It's upsetting him as well to see her in a state of worry and uncertainty. These are her dreams. From this moment, he's completely on her side."

Following Jacob's shocking suggestion, Sarah heads to the hospital for her cancer operation.

She's grateful to have Charity by her side during this frightening ordeal, but her heart is broken all over again when her gran reiterates that she's making the wrong decision about the baby.

"Jacob worries about Sarah when she goes into surgery," Joe-Warren says. "At the same time, he's got very positive hopes. Deep down he believes it's going to be all right."

However, Jacob's optimism is short-lived. As Cain and Charity await news on Sarah's operation, the surgeon tells Sarah's family the grave news that things haven't gone to plan.

Are Sarah's dreams of becoming a mother about to be shattered? Or will she and Jacob have a family despite any setbacks?

"I really think they'd be great parents," Joe-Warren adds. "Sarah's also not had an easy life so all these things would shape them. He's going to be there every step of the way for her?"

    MONDAY

The Sugden siblings are in a mess

So Robert Sugden has returned to the village and made it clear he's sticking around.

But his brother John, who's just married Robert's ex-husband Aaron, is not having any of it.

Determined to get shot of his love rival, John goes around ruining Robert's chances, insisting, for example, that Caleb retract his offer of trial employment.

When he clocks Vic's black eye, and learns Robert's responsible for their sister's bruising, John totally loses it.

Meanwhile, Vic is stuck in the middle of her brothers' war and is worried about them both.

With John out to paint Robert in a bad light and Robert (rightly) convinced that John is a secret psycho, how will Vic handle the bitter battle? Is she going to end up taking sides? (And will she pick the right one?)

Elsewhere, Jacob makes a mistake he lives to regret when he innocently mentions Sarah's IVF to Cain.

It's news to Cain that his granddaughter has started taking steps towards having IVF to become a mum.

    The mechanic doesn't react well.

Feeling as if he's the last to know, Cain turns on Jacob and has to be pulled off of him by horrified Sarah and his colleague Kammy

Sarah is then forced to have a frank chat with Cain who's worried for his granddaughter who has life-limiting disease Fanconi anaemia.

Cain doesn't handle it too well with Sarah who's left upset by his angry reaction and then starts to doubt herself.

Later, as she offloads to Jacob, her med student ex is given food for thought…

Having heard Tracy making the arrangements, she asks her if she's had a change of heart about allowing Cain to attend.

The conversation goes south when well-meaning Belle reasons that no one knows who killed Nate.

Her comment ignites angry Tracy who feels as if Belle is accusing her of Nate's murder.

Fed up to the back teeth of the family, Tracy then decides to ban the entire Dingle clan!

    TUESDAY

Robert Sugden has a date with danger

Robert Sugden has been having an absolute nightmare since he returned to Emmerdale.

Feeling as if every door is shutting in his face already, he then hears his one and only ally, his sister Victoria, talking to his number one enemy, his brother John, and is sent spiralling into despair.

With John adamant that Vic should go to the police and tell them that freshly-released-ex-con Robert gave her a black eye, will he manage to persuade her?

Upset, Robert reaches out to Aaron for his input but gets the cold shoulder from his ex-husband.

It's one knock too many for Robert who then goes on the attack.

Determined to make Aaron jealous, he starts drinking and hooks up with a random guy.

Aaron refuses to give his ex-husband a reaction which only serves to make Robert feel even worse.

But Aaron's indifference ends up being the least of Robert's worries...

When his back's turned, his dodgy date laces his drink.

But it's not the date who ends up in control of an unconscious Robert – it's his secret killer brother John!

Belle reaches out to Vanessa, hoping the vet can get her sister Tracy to change her mind about banning the Dingles from Nate's funeral.

Vanessa agrees to give it a go but when she starts talking to her sister, she backtracks on her promise.

As tearful Tracy admits the funeral is her last chance to prove her love for Nate, Vanessa can't bring herself to risk upsetting her.

Joe Tate notices someone has keyed his fancy car and presumes it was Billy.

    WEDNESDAY

John Sugden has Robert right where he wants him

John's wanted wanted shot of Robert ever since his brother cropped up in his life and now's his chance.

Having been drugged by a random hook-up, Robert's unconscious and has been scooped up by John and slung in the back of his campervan.

But we've been here before with John who loves to play the hero and has secretly killed Nate Robinson (and committed loads of other sinister crimes).

As the paramedic loads up one of his syringes, is he planning to help Robert or finish him off?

Sarah's head's a mess following her run-in with her grandad Cain.

His opinion on her life-limiting illness and her idea to have IVF has sent her spinning.

As she talks to Jacob about it all, she's left gobsmacked when her ex offers to help by becoming her sperm donor!

    Will Sarah accept?

At Home Farm, Joe's convinced that Dawn's ex, Billy, is trying to get revenge on him.

His car's already been keyed and now someone's nabbed all his meds.

After offloading to Sam Dingle, at the depot, Joe confronts Billy whose response leaves Joe utterly humiliated.

Joe's seething and is spurred into action after another classic comment from Sam.

Will Shaun, Joe's hired heavy, manage to teach Billy a lesson?

    THURSDAY

Grandparents Charity and Cain are given awful news about Sarah

As Sarah Sugden prepares to go under the knife in a bid to treat her cervical cancer, she's just got one thing on her mind. And that's becoming a mum.

Having got her heart set on the idea despite the many things going against her – not least life-limiting disease Fanconi anaemia – it's all she can think about.

She's not fazed about the surgery she's about to have as the doctor has told her that her early cancer diagnosis won't stand in the way of her parenting ambition.

At her hospital bedside, rather than need her gran's support for what lies immediately ahead, all Sarah wants Charity to tell her is that she backs her decision to proceed with IVF.

As Sarah's gran, Charity's got her concerns about everything that's going on with her right now.

But as she tries to tell Sarah that she'll support her even if she doesn't necessarily agree with the idea, Charity stuffs up royally.

Sarah's left heartbroken by her gran's words and there's no time for Charity to try to make it better as her granddaughter's required in theatre.

Feeling like the worst person in the world, Charity's in bits as she and Cain wait for Sarah to emerge from surgery.

After a torturous wait, the surgeon has news for the grandparents.

In a cruel twist of fate, Sarah's surgery hasn't gone as planned…

Will it fall to Cain and Charity to tell Sarah the tragic news?

Elsewhere, as Amy's birthday looms, her widower Matty is grateful when Vic says she'll help him mark the occasion.

    FRIDAY

Paddy tries to help his dad

Bear Wolf may have been a wrestler back in the day but nowadays he's a gentle giant.

Or at least he was until lately.

Paddy and his wife Mandy have been left utterly baffled by the change in Bear's personality.

Bear, who's usually calm and kind, has been lashing out verbally and physically and then acting as if nothing's happened.

However, the mere mention that something might be wrong sends Bear into a rage and stomping off to his room.

The Dingle couple has tried everything they can think of to cheer him up.

But even buying Bear a motorbike to tinker on and arranging for him to be able to work on it at Cain's garage saw Bear's initial gratitude flip into a furious rage.

Having been worried that his dad has got depression, fellow sufferer Paddy's now not so sure.

Roping in his best mate Marlon, Paddy wants to explore another avenue and is hoping to conduct a dementia test on his dad.

Given Bear's volatility, Paddy's come up with the 'genius' idea to try to test his dad… without him realising what is going on.

As the men gather in the Woolie for a pint, will Paddy and Marlon manage to pull off the plan?

Elsewhere, Matty honours his late wife Amy on what would have been her birthday.
