Darcy makes his most dangerous move yet - will Karl survive?
When Karl finally calls his nephew Darcy's bluff, it results in an altercation that could end his life.
After spotting Darcy (Mark Raffety) whispering with his ex Tess about "starting afresh" and skipping town, Karl starts connecting the dots that Darcy is up to no good. Might he be the one behind the suspicious death of Jane's mother, Amanda?
Darcy, realising Karl could be on the verge of uncovering his dark secret, decides to strike first.
"Darcy is concerned that all his deceptions and defrauding and his part in Amanda's death will be exposed," Mark tells TV Week.
Arriving at the Kennedy home, Darcy launches into a confrontation, but when Karl refuses to back down, things turn deadly.
In a terrifying twist, Darcy injects Karl with a paralysing substance, leaving him unconscious and completely helpless.
"Darcy knows Karl is onto him and he needs time to make his getaway," Mark says. "His intentions are not to kill him - but that could change."
With Karl rushed to hospital, the community reels as doctors suspect a stroke as he lays in a mysterious comatose state. Meanwhile, Darcy covers his tracks, planting opioids to make it look like Karl's addiction is to blame.
As Karl?s wife, Susan, and his daughter Holly keep vigil by Karl's bedside, no-one suspects the man responsible might be lurking in plain sight. And if Karl wakes up, will he be able to tell them the truth before Darcy makes another move?
"It's starting to unravel for Darcy," Mark adds. "Karl coming out of his coma could expose everything and Darcy can't afford for this to happen. It requires desperate, unthinkable measures and Darcy has no intention of going back to jail." "
