Coronation Street star Rob Mallard has opened up about a health battle which he had previously kept private.
The actor, who plays Daniel Osbourne, appeared on ITV's This Morning back in January, but some viewers noticed that he was uncontrollably shaking.
Following that interview, Rob tweeted in response to a number of comments, revealing that he has an essential tremor.

Rob has handled all this with such dignity. Such a lovely young man.
The press can be unbelievably ignorant and judgmental sometimes.

Coronation Street star Rob Mallard has opened up about his potentially "career-ending" medical condition.
The actor, who plays Dan Osbourne on the ITV soap, has an essential tremor, which is a progressive neurological condition that causes shaking.
During a new interview with The Mirror, Mallard explained that his tremor - which he first noticed at the age of 14 - is getting progressively worse and he fears it could cut his time in Weatherfield short.
"In the last 10 years, it has become a lot more pronounced and if it follows that trajectory in my personal life, it?s going to be difficult and annoying. Professionally it could be career-ending," he said.
"It has been suggested that Coronation Street wrap it into the character, which I?m not averse to, but I?d rather not do that now. I don?t want it to pigeonhole me."
Mallard went on to share that his tremor now affects his hands, arms, neck and sometimes his voice, though he has come up with some techniques to help while he?s filming scenes for Corrie.
"I will practise actions over and over again. Trying to break something down into smaller parts has been the easiest and best way to hide the tremor," he explained.
If he has to hold a pint, the actor said he?ll ask for one that is "two-thirds gone" as it minimises the chances of him spilling it.
"But if I come into the scene and order a pint, the chances are it?ll be up to the top. That?s when the issues start," he added.
The actor also revealed that people sometimes think he has been drinking when he shakes, though he has managed to overcome his "embarrassment" about his condition and is now working with the National Tremor Foundation to raise awareness.

Brace yourselves for more romantic drama on Coronation Street, as Rob Mallard has shared plans for his character Daniel Osbourne to fall for someone new.
Rob teased his alter ego's future in an exclusive chat with us, as we caught up on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards 2025.
Both of Daniel's main love interests left Weatherfield this year. Bethany Platt headed off from the cobbles in February after securing a new job in London ? a storyline written in for Lucy Fallon's real-life maternity leave.
Daisy Midgeley then left Weatherfield with a bang in May ? her departure will be permanent as Charlotte Jordan has bowed out to pursue new projects.
Looking ahead to Daniel's future, Rob told us: "I'm not allowed to say anything too specific, but sure enough, he'll be falling for another woman. He'll be falling head over heels again. When that happens, I'm not too sure.
"And he's gone back to work at the school. We've got all the kids in the show, and with the age that they're at with the storylines, I should be involved with the younger cast a bit more."
Asked whether Daniel will learn from his previous romantic mistakes, Rob laughed: "No, he can't! He's Ken's son, isn't he? Everything's got to be a mess all the time.
"So I'm expecting just more chaotic relationships, just over and over and over again."
Rob went on to share his thoughts on Lucy Fallon and Charlotte Jordan both now being away from the show.
"Lucy's gone off to have a baby ? in real life, I mean. She had a baby and she's coming back as soon as she can," he said.
"I'm happy for Charlotte. She needs to do what she needs to do. She's so beautiful and so talented. She's going to do amazing, amazing, amazing."
He then laughed: "But I would prefer her to keep her beauty and talent here next to me to make me look better, do you know what I mean?!"
