Emmerdale's Ruby Miligan crumbles under the pressure next week ? and decides to confess to the crime of killing her father.
Convinced the corpse found in the lake must be evil Anthony, Ruby reckons the game is up and heads to tell the police everything. Can Caleb and the co-conspirators stop her?
"When the body is found, it's a few days before it's formally identified as Nate," begins our Emmerdale insider.
"In that window of rumours, Ruby, Caleb, Cain and Chas fear it could be Anthony and their cover-up is about to be exposed. It's a race against time to stop Ruby coming clean and sending the lot of them down."
Shifty John never revealed exactly what he'd done with the abuser's body, so it's understandable everyone thinks the lake could have been his final resting place.
The fact it's then confirmed the deceased has been in the water for months only fuels the theory.
Desperate to stop Ruby blabbing, Caleb quickly formulates a plan and tells his wife they must flee the village, and the pair prepare to disappear.
Cain arranges for his brother and sister-in-law to hide out in Ireland with another branch of the Dingle clan, but Ruby has a wobble and sneaks out while Caleb sleeps.
When he wakes up, Caleb is horrified to find a note from his missus saying she's gone to the police station alone ? she's handing herself in.
"Ruby unburdens herself as she tells the officers about what Anthony put her through," our insider continues.
"The years of physical and psychological abuse all come flooding out. Ruby makes it clear Caleb was not involved in what happened to Anthony, and is about to reveal herself as his killer when the interrogation is interrupted."
A solicitor arrives and puts a stop to the interview, much to the confusion of the cops ? and Ruby herself.
Back in the village, Caleb tells Chas what Ruby has done and shows her the note, sending his stressed sister into a spin as she fears that everyone connected with Anthony's demise will end up behind bars. After all the secrecy and careful planning, is this really how it ends?
Caleb appears strangely calm considering Ruby could be fessing up at that very moment, and mysteriously reassures Chas he has it all under control. But how can he be so sure?
Turns out he has his solicitor on the case, who he dispatched with instructions to stop Ruby in her tracks before she incriminates the lot of them. The siblings then receive a surprise visit from the boys in the blue, who want a word with Caleb.
"She's doing her best to keep it together but this has Chas panicking again," our source adds.
"Hoping her little brother's plan hasn't been thrown off course, poker-faced Chas sneakily hides Ruby's note. Caleb then braces himself to face the cops' questions?"
Has Ruby said too much already, arousing suspicion among the authorities? Can Caleb, Chas and the family continue to conceal the truth? And what happens when they learn the body isn't even Anthony's?

There's a gruesome discovery in Emmerdale next week when the dead body found in the lake is confirmed to be Nate Robinson.
Everyone thought the farmhand had done a runner and abandoned his family, but now the missing man's fate is being treated as murder. Will John be revealed as the accidental killer, or could someone else take the blame for bumping him off?
The locals are horrified after a corpse is found in the lake, which had to be dredged following the poisoned water fiasco.
After much speculation, the identity of the deceased is eventually revealed as Nate, who everyone thought had moved to Shetland to start a new job last September.
Falsely accused of cheating on wife Tracy with ex-lover Moira Dingle, Nate left under a cloud of misunderstanding and was never heard from again. But when the police inform Tracy of his murder, it comes as a huge shock.
Quizzed by the cops on her late spouse's last known movements, Tracy recalls how Nate was at odds with Cain. Father and son clashed over Nate's supposed smooch with his old flame, aka Cain's missus.
Cain fought with Nate on the day he took off, giving the Dingle dad a motive for murder in the eyes of the law. Before you can say 'prime suspect', Cain is taken in for questioning.
Grieving Cain fumes as the finger of suspicion points in his direction. But remembering how furious Cain was when he thought Moira and Nate had reignited their affair, Tracy becomes convinced of Cain's guilt?
"When she starts thinking of motives, the only person who had crossed wires with Nate before he left was Cain," points out Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy.
?They'd had a big bust-up and Tracy witnessed Cain really laying into him, it was horrific. Tracy is equally a suspect, as the closest people always are, but she knows it wasn't her so she thinks it must be Cain!"
"He's actually really supportive and emotional towards Tracy, which is very unlike Cain!" adds Amy.
"Tracy thinks it's not sadness, it's guilt. She just runs with the theory. Tracy knows what Cain is capable of but doesn't think he set out to murder Nate.
"If Cain chased after Nate to threaten him to stay away and they got into a fight, it could've easily gone too far ? but that would still make Nate's death Cain's fault."
Meanwhile, nobody suspects John Sugden is the real killer. Viewers know from dramatic flashbacks that Nate died from a reaction to medication administered by John, who was attempting to treat the injuries from Cain's attack.
As next week's episodes continue, the case takes an unexpected turn when police reveal there's been a surprise development.
What is this latest twist, and will it get Cain off the hook?

Cain Dingle is suspected of his son's murder
Emmerdale is a village in shock as the grisly news – that the body in the lake is Nate Robinson's – does the rounds.
Tracy, Nate's ex, is the first to be told.
Having thought Nate had left her high and dry when he moved to Shetland leaving her to raise their daughter with no financial help whatsoever, she's totally blindsided.
The police detectives then move on to Butler's to inform Nate's dad Cain.
Like Tracy, Cain's utterly shell-shocked and reels when he and his wife Moira are informed they won't be able to visit the morgue as Nate's decomposed body is too far gone.
As Cain tries to process the horror of it all, he's hit by an awful flashback of the last time he saw Nate who he punched and accused of having another affair with Moira.
Nate hadn't touched Moira of course, but Cain had put two and two together and come up with 69.
Nate was so upset that he disowned Cain who'd told Tracy and ruined Nate's relationship with his on-off wife in the process.
Broken-hearted Nate then set out to move to Shetland. But, as we know but the police are yet to find out, he never made it as he ran in to John Sugden who, in the middle of dealing with the Butler's barn fire unwittingly killed Nate and later tossed his body into the lake.
Cain doesn't mention his row with Nate to the police – but Tracy does and all too soon the Dingle dad is hauled in for questioning…
As tongues wag, even Chas starts to wonder if her brother might have done something to Nate, knowing how angry he was about all the Moira hoo-ha.
One person who's convinced of Cain's guilt, is Tracy and when the Dingle dad pays her a visit and is uncharacteristically kind, she shares her suspicions with her sister Vanessa…
Is Cain about to get fitted up for John's crime?

Cain Dingle is under pressure as Nate's murder investigation takes a turn
When Cain Dingle was told the body in the lake had been found to be his son Nate's, the last thing he was expecting was to be linked to the crime.
Though he had no part in the murder – which was secretly committed by John Sugden – the Dingle dad had had a bitter and violent row with Nate which has been exposed to the police.
Though Cain's been questioned and released, he's about to be re-visited by DC Cole as there's been a significant development in the case.
Has John planted some evidence linking Cain to the crime? Or is someone else now in the frame?

Emmerdale fans will see April Windsor's trauma take a toll on her next week when she struggles at school ? and has an unwelcome encounter with someone from her past.
After doing very little revision for her upcoming GCSEs, unmotivated April struggles to sit an exam due to feelings of panic, breaking her dad Marlon's heart.
Desperate to help his teenage daughter, Marlon talks to the school ? and when Belle suggests that April might benefit from resitting the year, Marlon sees some light at the end of the tunnel.
"After the year April's had, the idea that she might be able to wipe the slate clean and re-do Year 11 is a welcome choice for Marlon," our Emmerdale source tells us.
"He's a devoted dad who wants the best for his daughter, but he's afraid that if he puts too much pressure on her, she'll run off again. If she can't sit her GCSEs successfully now, waiting a year isn't such a bad thing."
Determined to take on some responsibility and widen her prospects, April seeks out a summer job and is thrilled when Belle Dingle offers her a trial shift at Take A Vow.
Her first responsibility is to film a christening ? but her excitement soon turns to icy horror when she realises that the baby's father is one of the vile men who threatened to urinate on her when she was living on the streets.
"April experienced so much trauma while she was homeless, and seeing the man who tormented and belittled her brings it all flooding back," our insider continues.
"She's been struggling with her mental health for months, and now the one time that she attempts to do something beneficial for her, her hard past comes back to haunt her.
"Seeing the man happy with a family is a big shock to her, and it really rocks her. She feels as though she can't escape from the terrible things that she experienced."
As Marlon and Mary watch on proudly, totally unaware that April has recognised the man, she prepares to turn the christening upside down?
But what does she have planned? And will her actions cause more devastation for her and Marlon?
