Neighbours to bring back character after 38-year absence
Jane is in for a shock.

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours brings back Amanda Harris next month ? nearly 38 years after her last appearance in the show.

Briony Behets is reprising her role as Jane Harris's mother, who'll be reconnecting with her family once she arrives back in town.

We can confirm that Amanda reappears on screen from Wednesday, April 23.

New spoiler pictures show that Amanda takes up residence at Eirini Rising, moving into one of the spare rooms in the retirement community.

The photos show Amanda interacting with her daughter Jane and grandchildren Byron and Nicolette in her room at Eirini Rising.

There's also a first look at Amanda introducing herself to the likes of Darcy Tyler and Sadie Rodwell.

Amanda - the daughter of busybody Mrs Mangel - previously appeared on Neighbours as a guest character in several episodes in 1987. Briony Behets later returned to play another character, Kate Newton, in 2008.

The latest set of Neighbours spoiler photos also reveal several other pieces of casting news.

Ryan Moloney reprises his role as Toadie Rebecchi on Thursday, May 1, turning up to support his daughter Nell when she needs him most.

Elsewhere, Natassia Halabi is to take on the role of Sadra, a woman who appears to take a shine to Andrew Rodwell during his exercise class.

Cassandra Magrath is another guest star who'll be appearing soon, taking on the role of Lydia in scenes with Taye Obasi.

Neighbours drama as Paul and Chelsea expose Sebastian's real killer
Who will be arrested for Seb's murder?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...astian-killer/

    Major Neighbours spoilers follow.

Guilt-ridden Neighbours teen Nell Rebecchi prepares to confess to her role in Sebastian Metcalfe's death next week ? but just as she steels herself to tell her stepmum Terese, ruthless Chelsea Murphy hears everything over the baby monitor.

As Nell and Terese prepare to reveal all to the police, they're stopped in their tracks when they realise Paul Robinson has already dobbed Nell in. What will happen to the teenager now she's been robbed of the chance to confess?

"Nell's dire situation looks even worse now she's been caught out," our Neighbours source explains.

"It seems suspicious that she's kept quiet all this time, watching Leo get banged up for a crime that she committed. But will the police realise it was an accident?"

Withholding her part in Seb's death is keeping Nell awake at night, and when she learns terrified Leo has done a runner instead of facing a life in prison, she makes a brave decision.

Believing she has no other choice, Nell confides in JJ that she's going to confess to Terese that she was responsible for Seb's death, not Leo. But unfortunately for Nell, Chelsea has heard everything on Thomas' baby monitor.

When Paul hears there's a warrant out for Leo's arrest, he loses all hope for his fugitive son, but Chelsea's arrival changes everything. While she tells Detective Fox she knows exactly who killed Seb, Terese calls Toadie and they decide to head over to the police station so Nell can hand herself in ? but they're beaten to it?

"Terese is horrified that Paul went straight to the police to accuse Nell," our insider adds.

"Terese feels utterly betrayed, but Paul has his own son to think about. Can they ever stand united after this huge divide?"

Terese insists she can't forgive Paul for shopping Nell to the police, but the bristling tension between them is a delight for Chelsea. Can Terese forgive Paul for acting alone and ruining Nell's future?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Tuesday, April 22.

Neighbours confirms why absent character returns after 38 years
She's got a plan, but Susan's worried it will backfire.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...nda-back-2025/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours has confirmed why Amanda Harris is back after 38 years away.

Briony Behets will be back on screen as Jane Harris' mother for the first time in decades next Wednesday (23 April).

Amanda will be taking up residence at Eirini Rising and introducing herself to the likes of Darcy Tyler and Sadie Rodwell, but it turns out there's more to her big move than it first appears.

In scenes set to air next Wednesday, Susan and Karl Kennedy are comforting Darcy after his break-up with Chelsea Murphy, while glamorous Amanda arrives at Eirini Rising, ready to move in.

Susan helps her move and realises that she's Jane's mother after seeing a photo of the two of them together.

However, she's told by Amanda to keep her arrival a secret, as she admits that she wants to test her family to see how much they care.

Susan feels backed into a corner, and is worried her friendship with Jane could be affected.

"Amanda's plan is sure to end badly in a small town like Erinsborough where gossip spreads like wildfire," our Neighbours source reveals.

"Jane only works next door in Erinsborough High, so keeping Amanda's presence under wraps for long seems like a tall order. There's a difficult history between mum and daughter, but surely Amanda would be better off talking it through rather than playing games?"

That's not all Amanda gets up to in her return episode though, as she meets Darcy and instantly starts prying into his woman trouble, revealing herself to be very flirtatious.
