Personally I think the use of so many flashbacks are just the writers excuse for having so many holes in the storyline. DC Kit is as believable as a CID officer as Dopey David is as a hair Stylist. The whole storyline strikes me as scriptwriters who came up with a storyline and got bored with it halfway through. I hope they forget about Max and he rots in the cell and they only remember about him when Richard Hillman walks into Weatherfield Nick and confesses to the murder of his lovechild Joel and asks for 15 other murders to be taken into consideration. Joel is then discovered as having changed his sex and name to Jolene and living with Mavis Riley in Cartmel.

I think that they forget they are telling a story, which should be told as simply as possible, so that we can all understand it without too much effort. Instead they get too hung up on trying to be arty, adding all those flashbacks and twists most which can see through, so fail to inject the suspense and drama they are seeking.

With the constant drum banging in I was waiting for the Apaches to come rushing down Rosamund Street and attack the Rovers Saloon before Craig and the Weatherfireld Cavalry came riding to the rescue

Gail may as well have been run over by a bus several weeks ago with just a mention of it in the funeral parlour and drinks in the Bistro, as mentions of her is all we get, she is either upstairs or out shopping. She doesn't get seen for months and is not missed. As has already been said, she can't be arsed to turn up to feature in her own leaving story.

We saw Ken come back from his trip but we never saw him go.

Sharon Marshall in Digital Spy has confirmed there was no body bag, it was simply a trick of the light.
