    Exclamation Emmerdale Spoilers 8th - 12th July 2024

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emm...n-josh-change/

Emmerdale reaches a major turning point in Samson Dingle and Josh Cope's ongoing storyline next week.

The teen schemers have fooled most of the Dingle family over the recent stabbing incident at The Hide, but loyalties start to shift when Lydia witnesses a suspicious conversation.

Next week's episodes see Samson and Josh bring forward the date for their planned trip around Europe.

When this news reaches Moira, she vows to stop the pair from leaving while her struggling son Matty Barton remains in prison.

Moira rushes into the Dingles' cottage and makes damning accusations against Samson, pointing out that his motives for leaving the country seem suspicious. She can tell that Samson is trying to escape the fallout from his false accusations against Matty.

Sam is disgusted by Moira's attitude and once again defends his son, still believing him to be innocent.

Samson reassures Sam that he'll be back in the village in time for Matty's trial, so Sam agrees that he can leave with Josh. Moira refuses to let this go and privately vows to thwart their plans.

Later in the week, Samson's stepmum Lydia starts to realise that he might be lying.

Lydia's unease comes to a head when she witnesses Josh threatening Samson in the middle of the village.

Josh reminds Samson about the importance of maintaining their lies and warns of serious consequences if his friend betrays him.

Lydia observes this and is horrified to find that she may have backed the wrong side in this ongoing dispute.

Swallowing her pride, Lydia meets with Moira. Moira is relieved over this potential breakthrough and begs Lydia to help, but will she be willing to do so?

Emmerdale's big story for Samson started last month when he was accidentally stabbed during an attempted robbery at The Hide.

With Josh determined to cover up the truth about what happened, he pressured Samson into lying that Matty attacked him deliberately.

Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, July 8.

Emmerdale's Amy Barton makes a costly mistake

Amy Barton's relieved when she visits her husband Matty in jail and finds that he's in a more positive place mentally.

He's been going through hell since he was imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Not only is he not guilty of stabbing his cousin Samson Dingle but he's trans and is terrified that his difference is going to see him get lynched.

But Matty's made some progress since he last saw his wife. He's got a cellmate, Les, who's turned out to be an understanding and kind friend. He's also got a new lawyer and is starting to hope his awful ordeal behind bars may soon be over.

When Matty returns to his cell, Amy's approached by a friendly inmate who she assumes to be Les. As a conversation gets going, Amy mentions her husband being trans not realising she's not talking to Les at all, she's talking to transphobic Robbo?

Later, as Amy returns to the village, desperate to tell Matty's mum Moira that he's doing much better, she has no idea that in his cell, Matty's been cornered by the dangerous thug?

    Will Robbo attack petrified Matty?

Moira continues to push for Samson to tell the truth about the stabbing.

She's frustrated to hear that her granddaughter Sarah is seeing Josh ? who's blamed his crime on her son ? and furious to learn that Josh and Samson are planning to head off to Europe sooner than planned.

Barging into the Dingles' homestead, Moira rants about Samson while his dad Sam leaps to his son's defence.

Elsewhere Dawn loses faith in Billy's ability to look after their poorly son Evan when their baby spits up his medication. And Ruby and Caleb heal their rift over Nicky's decision to move away.

    Tuesday or Wednesday

Emmerdale's Matty Barton is cornered by transphobic Robbo

Just when Matty Barton thought he was getting a handle on things in prison, the rug is pulled out from under him.

The jailed barman's blood runs cold when transphobic Robbo enters his cell and makes it clear he's found out from Matty's wife that he is trans.

When Moira and Amy fail to hear from Matty does this mean he's been 'silenced' by the violent thug?

At Mulberry, Gabby grits her teeth when Jai says he's staying on in the house a bit longer and will be moving into his son Archie's bedroom.

She knows that her stepmum Laurel has told him their marriage is over but she's still in still in hospital and Gabby's in no position to be able to kick Jai out herself.

Elsewhere, Rose tries to back out of the plan she's made with Ruby.

    Thursday

Emmerdale's Manpreet Jutla lays it on the line with Charles

Charles Anderson has been in a state since his son Ethan's sudden death.

Grief has taken its grip on the dad whose life doesn't seem to make sense anymore.

His relationship with Manpreet has become collateral damage and has seen the vicar tell his long-term love they're over.

But understanding Manpreet is refusing to give up on him and their love story.

When the GP seizes her chance and confesses to Charles that she's really missing him, will he feel the same?

At the Woolpack, Gail tells Chas she's had an idea about how she can get Mandy and Rhona talking again. Can the barmaid pull off the plan?

Over at Home Farm, Dawn is worried about Evan's cough and takes the baby into hospital. The mum is furious as her husband Billy is nowhere to be seen but Kim covers for him and takes the blame for his absence.

    Friday

Emmerdale's Lydia Dingle is horrified in Friday's episode

When Samson told his parents that it was Matty Barton who stabbed him, they backed him to the hilt.

Even though violence was totally out of character for their nephew Matty, Lydia and Sam took Samson at his word.

But Samson ? who lied to save Josh's skin ? is in trouble when Lydia spots her stepson talking to his so-called mate. Her jaw drops as she overhears Josh threatening Samson, warning him he needs to carry on lying to the police or else?

As sickened Lydia starts to doubt Samson's version of events, will she share her suspicions in her sister-in-law, Matty's mum Moira who's been insisting her son is innocent?

Are Samson's other supporters about to learn that transphobic Josh pushed Samson on to his cousin Matty (who was holding a knife) and has let him take the fall?

At Home Farm, Rose is given a chance to play the hero for Dawn who's forgotten it's Clemmie's birthday.

With all that has been on with her poorly baby Evan, Dawn has taken her eye off the ball with the other kids and is riddled with mum guilt about it.

Dawn's bowled over when Rose steps in and sorts a birthday party for the little girl.

It's a win for absent-mum Rose who's been desperate to make a move to prove herself to Dawn prove she wants to be a part of her daughter's life ? and it also gives her the chance to exclude Kim who's been trying to keep her on the outer.
