So a strange female walks into the cafe and all staff are taking in by her claim to be Lauren's mum without ever asking for some proof??? Madre Mia!

First thought should have been, is she a journalist? But I repeat something you have mentioned in the past, DRAMA. It is lazy writing really, rather than think up believable, creditable story lines, soaps continually take the easy way by over using the same old tropes.
