He insisted on being told and the way medics are now its highly likely they would have told him. When I was told my father had terminal cancer I was told by the doctor that if I didn't tell him they would. I know people have a "right to know" but sometimes knowing is not always the best thing. We watched my father's condition rapidly deteriorate once we told him.

Sorry to hear of your experience. - Yes Paul did insist on knowing, but since the doctor herself admitted more tests were needed to confirm if he does have MND she could have said that they did not know yet what was wrong. That would be a truth and save him from premature worrying. If further tests do confirm he does have MND, then it will be time to tell him, and destroy any hope he has of recovery.
