Always good of Corrie to remind us that their scriptwriters haven't the first idea how Councils work nor have the will or ability to do any research to find out.

It looked like Maria was chairing that Council meeting. Normally I would have thought that The Leader of the Council or The Mayor would Chair, not a newly elected member.

Maria seemed to be able to introduce new items for discussion without having them included on the agenda. If they were added under additional business, they would be discussed at the end of the meeting, and in my experience most meetings ran out of time before they got that far,
