    British Soap Awards 2011

The first round of viewer voting for the British Soap Awards 2011 has opened this morning, giving fans the chance to have their say on the storylines, shocks and scandals of the past year.

From today, viewers are given the chance to cast their vote in the 'Sexiest Male', 'Sexiest Female', 'Villain of the Year', 'Best Actor' and 'Best Actress' categories, which contain three nominees from each of the UK soaps Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. Additionally, all five shows receive an automatic nomination for the 'Best British Soap' prize.

The first round of voting closes at 5pm on April 11, while the announcement of who has secured a place on the final shortlist will be made on April 18.
