I haven't been on the boards lately - I have been too busy.

Today is crap. my MIL died this morning.

Other than that it looks like I will be relocating across the pond.

So sorry to hear about your Mother-in-Law Shari, how come your having to up sticks and leave Bonnie Scotland. Is it to do with work?

She was 85 and has been ill now for a year so in some ways it was a relief.

The States thing is with my husbands work - he is over there 50% of the time anyway and we reckon that we will see more of him if we move!

The kids are sitting an entrance exam for American private schools next Friday - and OH has worked out a package with his company so it looks like it will really happen.

I take it you are unhappy about the move to the States, I would love to go there myself . Whereabouts will you be living? Can we all come to visit?

I guess I am ambivalent rather than unhappy. I will miss my family very much, but I fully intend to come home at Christmas and in the summer. I am keeping my house here and my car.

I am off to Texas, Y'all.

The kids are keen but will only come if there is a pool in the backyard.
