Joseph's brother, Harry, who has been in a coma after an insulin overdose, deteriorates and is brought into hospital, as the medical drama continues. Faye supports Joseph and, after an intense heart to heart about their demons, the pair end up kissing.
Sam, meanwhile, is keen to continue working despite his poor physical health. He continues to struggle and Connie warns him not to compromise patients' care.
Elsewhere, Maddy is suspicious that a mother is making her daughter ill and consults Linden.
