    Exclamation EastEnders Spoilers 17th - 20th February 2025

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eas...isode-airdate/

EastEnders has confirmed the date of their exciting live episode, to mark the show's 40th anniversary next month.

The BBC soap will mark this huge milestone by airing a week of episodes that will all take place over the course of just one day.

On Wednesday, February 19, exactly 40 years since the show was first broadcast on BBC One, EastEnders will air an hour-long, drama-filled episode.

Then on Thursday, February 20, the soap will air a fully live episode, with events that will change Walford and the lives of its residents forever.

This will include the reveal of who attacked Cindy Beale on Christmas Day, while Sonia Fowler will play a major role following the announcement of Natalie Cassidy's departure.

EastEnders has also revealed details of how viewers will be able to vote in the interactive storyline which sees Denise Fox choose between two potential suitors.

After the hour-long anniversary episode at 8.30pm, the vote will open on the BBC's website, with viewers requiring a BBC account to be able to pick between Ravi Gulati and Jack Branning.

Voting will close the next day at 7.10pm, just 20 minutes before the start of the live episode at BBC Elstree Centre. The votes will be independently verified and handed to executive producer Chris Clenshaw.

With the result revealed to the cast and crew, the losing script will be disregarded, and the team will prepare to perform the choice that has been picked by the audience.

However, there is another twist in the tale, as viewers won't just get to play matchmaker for Denise ? they will also be given another decision to make, which will go down in Walford's history.

Alongside the major drama on-screen, there will also be lots of content across the BBC and BBC iPlayer to mark EastEnders' big anniversary.

As previously announced, Ross Kemp will front a documentary special about the show's groundbreaking storylines, amid his sensational return as Grant Mitchell next month.

In addition, Joe Swash will host a 45-minute interview special for BBC Three, titled EastEnders Revealed: The Lock In, where he will chat to some of the actors involved in the anniversary week plot.
