With a character like Ross it will take time. I'm sure it will happen though. MP said in one in one the recent interviews posted that we will be pleasently surprised. I think they made a whole point last night episode of Pete asking where Moses is to point out where Ross is at the moment in fatherhood.

On the 25th Jan there is a brief spoiler saying Ross gets in touch with Debbie. That's all it says

Thanks for that. I wonder if she tells him to move out.

Emmerdale*star Michael Parr has said he ‘still feels like a spotty 15 year old’ inside, despite being crowned Britain’s sexiest soap actor last year.

The*St Helens*actor, who plays bad boy*Ross Barton in the soap, has now been shortlisted for best serial drama performance at the National Television Awards.

The 29-year-old also said he would like to move to the USA, making the most of his widely unknown dual British-American citizenship.

He said: “It kind of feels like a graduation. Last year it was best newcomer, and now it’s best serial drama performance. It feels like I’m playing with the big boys - it’s the big time when you’re up against Danny Dyer.”

“I suspect it’s because of the*Emmerdale*plot line where*everyone thought I’d been killed off, before re-appearing two weeks later. That was really difficult, lying even to my family about it and that felt sly - but it did seem to pay off.

“It made people realise what a successful character it had been given*the petition to get Ross back. The team write really well, and they’ve written a good three-dimensional character. He’s got charm, charisma and a lovely side, but he’s a nasty bugger too.

“It could just come down to timing too - the awards were coming up when he had just had that big storyline.”

But he is a little less proud of being crownedSexiest Male at the Inside Soap Awards in October.

He said: “It was actually quite embarrassing. I don’t consider myself sexy. In my head I’m still the skinny, spotty 15-year-old I was in school.

“It was nice to win best newcomer at those awards too, as with awards like Sexiest Male you can feel a bit overlooked on your acting.”

Asked if he saw himself in*Emmerdale*at 40, he spoke about his desire to move to the USA: “I’d like to come back to Emmerdale before I’m 40, but I’ve got dual British and American citizenship which I’d like to explore if I can.

“I love New York, and I had lots of fun in Los Angeles recently. I’d like to live out there at some point.”

St Helens actor Michael Parr as Ross Barton, seen waking up in a shock Emmerdale episode (August 25) weeks after being "killed" by brother Pete.

You can vote for Michael Parr on the*National TV Awards website.

The awards will be screened on ITV1 at 7.30pm on Wednesday, January 20th.

Well, the last bit of sympathy I had for Pete has gone now. Ross has done some bad things but Pete is hardly an angel in all of this and he is progressively getting worse. I dread to think where Pete will be in a years time.

Pete snogged his aunty and still managed to bring up the fact that Ross had an affair with Debbie, he should just move on and try not to be such a bore in future relationships.

And he's supposed to be the good guy. That could have hit Moses.

Disappointed in Finn too. They are always telling Ross not to wind Pete up. Yet go along with Pete

I am enjoying Ross and Kirin's friendship lately, I hope Emmerdale keep on going with it. Both characters don't really have any male friends in the show and it shows Ross' nicer side.

Yes! Whilst Ross might be sad that Debbie has left town it does give the character a bit of freedom and growth to intergrate with other characters in the show which I'm all for.
