Should John Stape live or die

The saga of Coronation Street killer John Stape is one of the most tangled webs in soap, and trying to piece together just how he'll bow out from Weatherfield is currently proving just as tricky to get to grips with!

It's no secret by now that John's storyline will reach its final act in the coming months, and we'll no doubt see some shocking truths emerge as the full circumstances surrounding the deaths of Colin Fishwick, Joy Fishwick and Charlotte Hoyle can't stay hidden forever.

Late last month, a newspaper reported that John will commit suicide as the plot reaches its conclusion, and this appeared to be confirmed last week when pictures emerged showing him jump from a hospital roof.

Since then, however, other reports have suggested that John may live to fight another day after all - going on the run to escape police after surviving his fall.

He should live, why should serial killers be killed off. He should survive then he can get back out of jail if he has the same lawyer as TracyLuv

Why should he die? That's a bit barbaric isn't it?

Why are we having a poll because DS are stupid enough to have one.!!!!!

He should live but he cannot stay on on the programme. Its the bloody stupid scriptwriters who wrote this TOSH and the Big Jim Storyline that should be killed off. (Not literally you understand)

Of course they have to kill off his character because they have painted his character int a corner with making him responsible for all those deaths. They cant seriously keep him on

Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has admitted that she would not be surprised if the soap's bosses found a way to bring back John Stape in the future.

John's dark storyline, which has seen him involved in three deaths, is expected to reach its final act in the coming months as his many secrets start to unravel.

Some reports have suggested that John will die as the plot reaches its climax, while others have stated that he will get away with his crimes by boarding a ferry to Europe and going on the run.

In an interview with Inside Soap, McAlpine, who plays John's wife Fiz, refused to rule out the possibility that the ex-schoolteacher could defy the odds and return to live on the street one day.

She said: "Look at Tracy Barlow - she went to prison for murder, and a few years later here she is again. John's a bit like the Terminator - he could well be back."

Asked how Fiz would cope without John (Graeme Hawley), the actress replied: "She'll be mortified if she becomes a single mum. The last thing that Fiz wants is for Hope to be taken away from her, and she'll go to any lengths to protect her family. But Sam [Aston] reckons that Fiz and Chesney's mum Cilla might be back to help her out!"

Fiz makes some fresh discoveries about John in next week's episodes after he has another breakdown and pays a visit to Charlotte Hoyle's parents. When Fiz discovers John's whereabouts, he is forced to open up to her about the late bunny boiler's stalking and deranged behaviour.

I really fail to see any credible way they can keep his character now UNFORTUNATELY. It's like a lot of silly storylines the start that they have no idea how they are going to progress with things until it's too late. Kate Plank is a prime example. It used to be only Deadenders that wrote daft unbelievable nonsense but it seems Corrie scriptwriters are trying to emulate the PC Luvvies down Elstree way. We already have one ridiculous soap so we don't need amother

They could always do a Dallas. Like they did when Bobby died, then they changed it too being a terrible dream. They could go back to the day when Fizz met john. She could wake up and start again so he would never have had an affair with Rawsie or become a serial killer.
