CALLING all Casualty fans - steel yourselves! Selena is going to be spectacularly killed off next month.

The pregnant doc, played by Liz Carling, is shot dead after a gun-wielding maniac goes on the rampage in the emergency department.

However, miraculously, her unborn baby is saved.

A show source says: "Liz steps in to calm things down when her lover Harry is being threatened by the angry attacker. But it all goes horribly wrong and she ends up being fatally wounded. Although Harry and Stitch race to save her life, they lose her.

"In heartbreaking scenes Harry manages to deliver the very premature baby, whose father is Selena's ex-boyfriend Nathan. But all the while he knows that he's lost the woman he could have built a future with. Stitch is so devastated he resigns - it's all terribly sad."

Liz is bowing out after four years on the wards. A nation blubs

I suppose when one of your fellow collegues who you have worked closely with dies like that then it upsets everybody.
