Coronation Street's Kevin Webster discovers that his wife Abi is sabotaging Carl Webster's job to get him sacked from the garage next week. But will he work out why she's so determined to get rid of him?

Kevin's discovery comes straight after he read inappropriate messages on Abi's phone from Carl, hinting that he wants to get to know her better. Could Kevin put two and two together and expose the truth?

After Kevin sees her phone, Abi warns Carl to stay away from her. However, it soon becomes clear Carl won't take no for an answer ? so Abi takes extreme measures to get rid of her seductive brother-in-law and the risk of temptation.

"To try and save her marriage, Abi sneaks around and secretly tampers with a car at the garage," explains our insider. "She wants to make it look like Carl hasn't done his job properly, in the desperate hope that he'll be sacked and will have to go back to Germany."

Abi eagerly shows Kevin the car she's meddled with and is quick to blame Carl. But when Kevin studies the CCTV, he's stunned to see his wife is responsible for the damage.

Later in the week, Kevin has bigger things to worry about as he attends an appointment to hear his latest test results. When Abi is forced to head out on a breakdown call, Kevin goes to the appointment alone, still seething over her lies.

"Abi's in a huge dilemma," our source says. "She is torn between the two Webster brothers, but if Kevin gets told bad news at the hospital, it will make the decision for her. Regardless of anything else, Abi could not and would not leave Kevin while he's ill."

While Kevin waits for the consultant, Carl continues to pursue Abi at the garage. As she vows her commitment to Kevin, Carl pushes her buttons, telling her he can't stop thinking about her ? and he knows she feels the same.

As the sexual tension bristles between the pair, Kevin faces his future alone. But will he receive the all-clear he's hoping for, or will it be bad news? And will his results force Abi to stay with him out of obligation?

Coronation Street's Gary Windass's whereabouts are finally revealed next week ? he's in hospital, unconscious and covered in bruises.

Maria Connor's husband has been missing since he stormed out after a row about his relationship with Lou Michaelis, so how did he end up beaten into a coma?

"When Gary stropped off to his mum's, Maria didn't realise that could be the last time she saw him," begins our Corrie insider. "She has no idea he's fighting for his life in a hospital bed. Gary's condition is critical, and he might not pull through?"

Gary and Maria's marriage has come under intense strain in the past few weeks, thanks to his growing closeness to Lou.

It was clear Gary felt sorry for his wife's employee after her violent hubby Mick Michaelis was sent to prison for killing Craig Tinker, leaving her to cope with three kids on her own.

But when kind-hearted Gary offered lonely Lou a shoulder to cry on, she misread the signals and tried to kiss him.

The ensuing row between Maria and her hubby saw Gary storm out of the flat to cool off. But he's been gone a suspiciously long time.

"Maria thought Gary would come home once the dust settled," says our source. "But it's been days, and there's still no sign of him.

"He has sent a text to tell her he's staying with a friend and will return soon. But Liam's 16th birthday is coming up so Maria's sure Gary wouldn't miss that ? would he?"

With Gary still AWOL, Liam feels abandoned by his stepdad, but Maria reassures him that he will be around to celebrate his birthday.

The big day arrives, and Liam opens his cards and presents ? though he's clearly deflated that Gary's not there. Confiding in his mum, anxious Liam shares his fears that something bad might have happened to Gary.

Although she puts on a brave face, Maria is clearly thinking the same thing ? and with good reason.

"While Maria throws a birthday tea for Liam with the family, we see Gary lying in hospital," reveals our insider. "He's out of it and obviously in a bad way. Suddenly he takes a turn, and staff are rushing to his aid ? Gary's in danger, but no one knows where he is."

Will Gary survive, or die alone in a hospital bed without his loved ones knowing his fate? And was Gary ever staying with a mate, or did someone else send that message to Maria?

Millie panics when Theo reveals that he's off to see Millie's teacher about her pregnancy. Todd tells Millie it's obvious she's lying and it would be best to come clean and an emotional Millie agrees.

Todd tells Millie to take a pregnancy test to prove that the first one gave a false positive and he won't tell her parents.

When Theo returns home, Millie announces she's got something to tell him. Will Millie tell Theo the truth?

Meanwhile, Kevin picks up Abi's phone and sees a message from Carl, stating he'd like to get to know her better. As Carl secretly mocks up another fake MOT certificate, Abi warns him to stay away from her as Kevin sees the last message he sent.

When Kevin arrives for work, Abi shows him a car that Carl's been working on, pointing out his sloppy workmanship but when Kevin watches the CCTV, he's shocked to see Abi tampering with the car.

Elsewhere, when Dee-Dee tells James and Ed she's glad to have the support of her church, James makes it clear that Laila's upbringing will be non-religious.

Dee-Dee retaliates by meeting up with Billy, telling him she'd like him to baptise Laila, but Billy makes it clear she needs James's permission first. What will Dee-Dee do?

Also today, at Cassie's suggestion, Cassie, Steve, Sally and Tim meet for lunch. Sally makes barbed remarks at Cassie while Tim tries to keep the peace. When Tracy calls in, will she be able to keep the peace? As Sally and Tim gradually warm to Cassie, Steve states he can see himself falling for her. How will Cassie respond?

Finally, Nina and Summer agree that they got off lightly.

Abi admits to Kevin that she's nervous about his results. Kevin quietly seethes. When a breakdown call comes in, Abi's forced to attend and Kevin heads to his appointment alone.

Finding Carl at the garage with his feet up, Abi's furious but Carl's unrepentant, admitting he can't stop thinking about her and knows she feels the same. Abi swears that she loves Kevin and she's happy with her life.

As a nervous Kevin meets the consultant, will he get the results he's hoping for?

Meanwhile, as Liam opens his birthday presents, he reveals he's heard nothing from Gary and reckons something's happened. Maria fears he might be right. As the family gather for Liam's birthday tea we see an unconscious Gary in hospital. When he takes a turn for the worse, a nurse rushes to his aid.

Elsewhere, Dee-Dee assures James that she accepts his decision not to have Laila christened. However, when she asks Alya to be Laila's Godmother, Alya realises she's pressing ahead with the proposed christening.

Also today, George finds Todd and Theo doing a plank challenge. When Todd reveals that James called round and Theo wasn't best pleased, George is concerned. After a run, Theo gives Todd a massage which soon turns passionate, but they're interrupted by the arrival of George.

Finally, Bernie urges Brody to patch things up with his mum but Brody tells her that his mum is dead to him. Bernie drags Lou round and implores Brody to hear her out.
