are toadie and mel hostage in the desert with holly
Bossy7 (24-08-2024)
Metro.co.uk article after today's episode (Aust time):
Heath dead - taken by a croc (the article says that he jumped into the water when he saw Holly on the other side, but as we saw, Holly actually pushes him into the water), & the episode ends with Toadie lying on the train tracks, and Melanie "cradling Mackenzie?s bloody body" after she was shot (by Heath randomly shooting through the bush)...
Iconic TV show airs totally bonkers death that will go down in soap history

Amazon Freevee soap Neighbours has aired some pretty outlandish scenes in the last forty years, but never has a character met a grizzly end in the jaws of a crocodile? until today.
A cinematic week of episodes that are a far cry from the show?s cosy 80s heyday saw a number of residents find themselves in a precarious situation in the Australian outback.
Legacy character Holly Hoyland (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall) jetted off to a secluded converted barn for a break with conman lover Heath Royce (Ethan Panizza), unaware that he was plotting to embezzle the Lassiters hotel and their business partners out of millions with girlfriend Tess Carmichael (Anica Calida).
Junior lawyer Mackenzie Hargreaves (Georgie Stone) became suspicious of his behaviour after he dealt her a menacing threat, and she expressed her concerns to boss Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney).
Toadie?s had a troubling few weeks himself, after suffering a breakdown and concerning flashbacks concerning his multiple marriages. This has left his marriage to Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) on the rocks as they approach their first anniversary.
After opening up to ex-wife Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden) about his personal woes, she clocked his emotional instability and followed him to Heath?s house, where he planned to confront him over his treatment of Mackenzie.
At the swanky property, they uncovered his and Tess? plot to bring down Lassiters and their partners the Sincast Corporation, as well as their fake passports. But before they could alert authorities, they came face to face with a violent thug, were escorted to the outback and held hostage.
Meanwhile, Holly became suspicious of Heath?s behaviour and his reluctancy to let her reach out to her family and friends in Erinsborough. Aware that things seemed a little awry, and that their friend could be in grave danger, Mackenzie and boyfriend Haz Devkar (Shiv Palekar) boarded the next flight to Mount Harper in a bid to track her down.
On their arrival, Holly was nowhere to be seen, and panic set in. Little did they know, she?d been bundled into the back of Heath?s car and driven to the cattle station where Toadie and Melanie were still tied up.
In the moment, Toadie admitted that he still loved his ex-wife, and Metro.co.uk was keen to find out whether there was any hope of a reunion.
?You know I can?t possibly tell you that? Lucinda Cowden told us.
As Ryan Moloney laughed, she continued: ?Lucinda would?ve loved to have seen that. I think that everybody, personally, would?ve loved to have seen that.
?But I just think that?s my personal opinion and obviously that?s a possibility but you?ll just have to watch and find out, that?s all I?m telling ya.?
?They are tied up together for a long time? quipped Ryan, with much hilarity.
?We spend a very hot, sweaty time together. But in the worst possible way? added Lucinda.
Sadly, hopes of a reunion seem to be quashed, as at the end of the episode ? after managing to break free ? Toadie found himself lay alone on a railway track as his life (quite literally) flashed before his eyes? and a freight train thundered along, edging closer to him.
Elsewhere, Holly faced a deadly chase away from Heath, who discovered that she?d climbed out of his car. With nowhere left to turn, she climbed a ladder at the side of a silo container, and was pushed into it.
As she slowly began to sink into the corn it was filled with, Melanie rushed to her aid and she was rescued.
?I think death by corn is the ultimate Neighbours death, is it not?? laughed Lucinda.
But a far greater concern was yet to come?
As Mackenzie and Haz found themselves lost in the bush, rushing to find their neighbours, Heath grabbed a rifle and charged through the trees on the hunt for them.
Shots fired out, and Mackenzie was hit, and just like Toadie her life hangs in the balance.
Spotting Holly on the opposite side of a lake, Heath jumped in and began to swim across ? but a crocodile circled around him and dragged him beneath the murky water.
Truly incredible scenes.
With Toadie lifeless on the tracks, and Melanie cradling Mackenzie?s bloody body, time is ticking for them both. Will they survive?

Following on from the last post, the DS article:
Neighbours ? is Toadie Rebecchi being killed off?
Has the legendary character met a terrible fate?
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...-being-killed/
Neighbours spoilers follow from Thursday's big episode (August 22) and beyond.
Neighbours' action-packed 'Death in the Outback' episodes ended with a big cliffhanger on Thursday, leaving fans uncertain over the fate of legendary character Toadie Rebecchi.
The long-serving show regular was left in a highly precarious position in the closing moments of the episode, but he certainly wasn't the only one suffering as the soap also aired grisly moments for two other characters.
Who lives and who dies? Will anyone make it back to Ramsay Street? Here's our guide to everything we know so far.
Is Toadie Rebecchi dead in Neighbours?
Fan favourite Toadie was central to the week's final cliffhanger after he managed to escape from being held captive by dangerous Heath Royce.
Toadie and his ex-wife Melanie Pearson were both trapped in the villain's clutches in the Outback after they'd stumbled across evidence of the embezzlement scheme he'd cooked up with Tess Carmichael.
Once free, Toadie told Melanie that he'd try to find the nearby trainline in the hope of being rescued.
Sadly, Toadie was already severely dehydrated after his ordeal and he struggled badly due to the intense heat and unforgiving conditions.
Toadie ended up collapsing and his life appeared to flash before his eyes as he experienced intense memories of his relationships with Dee Bliss, Steph Scully and Sonya Rebecchi.
After seeing flashes of the late Sonya again, Toadie appeared highly emotional and cried out: "Don't go. Take me with you."
The final shot of the episode revealed that Toadie had collapsed onto the train track, putting him in terrible danger.
Neighbours announced in June that Ryan Moloney, who plays Toadie, is leaving the show after nearly 30 years in his iconic role. In a surprising soap curveball, it wasn't his choice to go.
Ryan has always refused to be drawn on whether Toadie lives or dies.
Speaking at the time of the initial announcement, Ryan teased: "I can?t tell you what is happening to the character ? maybe I could be the next Jim Robinson. Or maybe I'll be the next Harold Bishop and keep popping back over the years."
In an exclusive chat with Digital Spy more recently, Ryan added: "If Toadie dies out in the Outback, that's a pretty spectacular way to go! It'd be a pretty cool way for him to leave the show, given everything he's been through.
"I have always said that if he dies, I would like Toadie to save Ramsay Street by jumping on a bomb and he blows up. But I'll take the Australian Outback instead!"
The official spoilers and pictures for next week are heavily embargoed, but they do preview anxious times for Terese, Karl, Susan, Nell and Hugo. For now, we'll have to wait and see whether it's the end of Toadie or if someone comes to his rescue.
Is Mackenzie Hargreaves dead in Neighbours?
With Neighbours bosses getting their money's worth from their big-budget location shoot, Mackenzie's life was also left hanging in the balance in Thursday's dramatic episode.
Mack and her partner Haz Devkar travelled to the Outback this week in the hope of tracking down their friend Holly Hoyland. Quite rightly, they feared that Holly was in danger with dodgy Heath and wanted to make sure she was okay.
As Heath's behaviour became increasingly erratic, he started menacingly firing gunshots while the Ramsay Street favourites were all running around haplessly trying to escape from him.
The dire consequences of this only became clear later when Melanie found Mackenzie seriously injured with a gunshot wound. Mackenzie's fate was still unclear by the end of the episode.
Unlike with Ryan, no announcement has been made that Georgie Stone ? who plays Mackenzie ? is leaving Neighbours.
However, sometimes the show does write out characters without a press release ahead of time. Producers will have understandably wanted to maintain total secrecy surrounding this week's expensive episodes.
Would Neighbours want to risk upsetting fans by killing off Mack, though? The show has already faced backlash in the past for giving tragic storylines to the show's first regular trans character.
This was most notable when Mack's husband Hendrix Greyson was killed off just days after their fairytale wedding in 2022. This left Mack in a dark place in the run-up to the "last ever" episode in July that year, and there was no time to give her a happy ending before the show wrapped.
Georgie returned to the show for the Amazon Freevee era to help give Mackenzie a positive new chapter, so it'd be a surprise to now see her character discarded in sad circumstances.
Even so, Georgie has spoken in the past about wanting the full soap experience, so anything is possible?
Is Heath Royce dead in Neighbours?
It's fair to say that the fate of Heath Royce was a little less ambiguous, as he was brutally eaten by a crocodile in one of the soap world's most memorable death scenes.
After a dangerous cat and mouse game saw Heath chasing Holly through the Outback, she managed to briefly overpower him by pushing him into a creek.
Heath scoffed at Holly's efforts and prepared to return to dry land, but he quickly caught the attention of a croc which was swimming nearby in the water.
As Holly and Haz watched on in horror, the crocodile attacked Heath and pulled him under the water to meet a very sinister fate.
Ethan Panizza, who played US businessman Heath, has already been responding to his character's demise on social media.
Discussing the croc's big attack, Ethan quipped: "Apparently they like the taste of America."
Heath's exit keeps the 'Death in the Outback' tagline on the right side of the Soap Trade Descriptions Act (okay, we made that up), but will any other fatalities be confirmed in next week's aftermath episodes? Only time will tell.
Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach
