    Devon Seas - Character & Location Profiles

    Hiya guys, starting from tomorrow i will be posting one episode a week of Devon Seas, a fictitional soap written by moi. Here is all the information on the characters and locatiosn that will appear in the show:

    THE TAYLOR/ DONGAOON FAMILY



    Richard Taylor (Tom Conti)

    Richard is a prosperous businessman, and an all around family man. He owns all of the shops in Baymoore, along with caravan park. He is extremely rich and his family are well known in the community, he is always one to boast of his wealth and invest in all opportunities given to him. He cares deeply for his family and close friends and does all he can to help them no matter what there situation. However he is a man with many enemies, but he gives as good as he gets to those how get in his way. His main enemy is James Andrews.



    Hilary Blackstock (Rula Lenska)

    Hilary is an evil, manipulative, money-grabbing witch who is Richard’s ex wife and mother to Nick. She returns to Baymoore to win back the love of Richard and to inherit his fortune. Richard has always been besotted with her , but she left him many years ago when he had an affair with another women, but it is clear that he’ll fall head over heels you get back with her. She can put up a friendly façade to befriend whoever she likes, but behind her fake exterior she is truly evil and will stoop at nothing to get what she wants. Few see her for what she really is but he real enemy is Tanya Donavon, Richard’s daughter from another relationship.



    Nick Taylor (Jonathon Wrather)

    Nick is the son of Richard and Hilary, is kind and caring, the absolute opposite of his mother. Richard’s closest relationship is with his son, and he has given him many responsibilities in the family business. However Nick feels that he needs to probe himself to his father and to others who think he’s “daddy’s little boy”. His best friend Gary helps him to prove that he independent and over time Nick gains in confidence and takes control of his life.



    Edward Taylor (Jack Ryder)

    Edward is the tearaway teenage son of Richard and his deceased wife Doreen. Edward could be described as the worst son, he drinks heavily, he smokes heavily and he has a drug addiction, as well as a large criminal record. However Richard still tries to keep on talking terms with his son and is finding it increasingly harder to help his son, as he just doesn’t want to be helped. He is hated by everyone in Baymoore except his sister Tanya, to whom he is very close.



    Tanya Donagoon (Tamzin Outhwaite)

    Tanya is the young at heart daughter of Richard and his deceased wife Doreen. She is a very confident woman and is extremely outgoing. She has very few enemies, she’s the kind of woman who’s everyone’s friend. She works as a hairdresser at Val’s Hairdressers. She is happily married to Husband Gary, and she has two children Melissa and Jacob. She is enemies with Hilary Blackstock, as she hates the woman’s guts.



    Gary Donagoon (Jason Merells)

    Gary is the friendly face that runs the Greasy Spoon café. He is a kind man who is always there for people to turn too, when they need advice or just a shoulder to cry on. He has many close friends, his half brother in law Nick being one, and he is married to Tanya and they’re the perfect couple.



    Jessica and Jacob Donagoon

    Jessica and Jacob are the two children of Tanya and Gary Donagoon. They are 2 year old identical twins and are very adventurous, they’re always running off and giving their parents the shock of their lives. Their grandfather Richard is always spoiling them rotten.

    THE ANDREWS FAMILY




    James Andrews (Jack Ellis)

    James is a policeman who is known to use his fists from time to time. He cares very much for his family especially his two daughters Claire and Emma, he believes that if a boy dumps one of his girls then he’ll make sure they pay for it. James is slightly arrogant, a bit cocky and it is because of this that he is enemies with Richard Taylor, due to some feud from the past.



    Val Andrews (Denise Welch)

    Val is the wife of James Andrews, she owns a hairdressers, but will soon work at the Bingo Hall as her shop burns down. Val is extremely chatty, the local gossip, and her mouth can often get her into trouble when the person whom the gossip is spread about finds out. She dresses tarty, and doesn’t really care what people think. She’s loud, generally obnoxious and can give as good as she gets in a verbal fight.



    Claire Andrews (Jennifer Anistion)

    Claire is the daughter of James and Val Andrews and is one of the barmaids behind the bar at the Red Rum. She is friendly, and is always cheerful, she puts a smile on the face of anyone who goes into the pub. She is extremely flirtatious with the opposite sex, even tough she is committed to boyfriend Chris Valance. She has a major crush on her publican boss Patrick O Brian.



    Emma Andrews (Jennifer Elison)

    Emma is the young daughter of James and Val Andrews. She is still at school and is slightly naive, as she can fall in and out of stupid school girl crushes. However at the moment is dating Andonis Singh, who is the same age as her. She is a girly girl who loves romance, pink and boy bands. She is found of her dog Billy, and is never seen away from him. She doesn’t get along well with her mother.

    THE O BRIAN FAMILY



    Patrick O Brian (Aidan Quinn)

    Patrick is the loveable Irish Rouge; he is extremely flirtatious and always has his eye on the ladies, and the feelings mutual as they have their eyes on him. He is the heartthrob of the village and he is a serious adulterer, as he is married too long suffering wife Amy whom is now used to the affairs, which he has had with women since they first married 15 years ago. He likes to thing he’s the hero of the village, so he is always there to give a helping hand in rime of need.



    Amy O Brian (Susan Sarandon)

    Amy is the long-suffering wife of Irishman Patrick O Brian. She is a extremely kind an loving women who has always longed to be a mother, but however she is unable to have children because of medical reasons but she keeps on assuring herself that she can have children and keeps on tormenting herself time after time after time. She truly loves Patrick, which is why she forgives him each time for the affairs.



    Hayley O Brian (Stepahnie McIntosh)

    Hayley is the lovechild of Patrick O Brian from a previous love affair. She turns up a couple of weeks into the soap looking to find her real father. She then decides to stay. She is going to become enemies with Amy, as she has always wanted children. And now Patrick ah one and she hasn’t and Hayley’s mother is Amy’s old best friend who slept with Patrick 16 years ago. Hayley shall become best friends with Emma Andrews.

    The Mansfield Family



    Rebecca Carboni (Helen Mirren)

    Rebecca is a wealthy woman in her mid fifties who owns the Italian Restaurant Valentinos. She is a widow to an Italian husband. She is very snobby and disregards the common folk of Baymoore except her daughter Vicki and grandson Daniel. The feelings mutual as no one in the village really likes her either, but they still decide to dine at her restaurant. A close friend of hers is Hilary Blackstock, as her, Hilary and Richard have known each other for many years.



    Vicki Mansfield (Claire Chitham)

    Vicki is the lively and outgoing daughter of Rebecca, she has many friends and is unlike her mother in every way. She is a barmaid at the Red Rum, and has a young son called Daniel, whom she has never really known the father. She is kind and caring and soon finds the love of Nick Taylor in future weeks.



    Daniel Mansfield (Jake Llyod)

    Daniel is the young son of Vicki. He is a mischievous young child who likes playing practical jokes on his mother, grandmother and residents of Baymoore. He doesn’t particularly get on well with Vicki or Rebecca and blames his behaviour on not having a proper father, of which he resents Vicki for.



    Romeo Carboni (Gary Turner)

    Romeo is one of the three Bachelor lads. He is the step son of Rebecca. He is very close to friends Tom and Chris: together they are the best of friends. Romeo is Italian and hence he’s called the Italian Stallion because of nationality and his name, and he lives up to it. He is a sex-mad maniac who always wants to have it off with women, regardless of if they’re married, or going out with anyone else. He is the chef at Valentinos Italian Restaurant and so he has the temper of a chef and he takes offence easily. He can be very violent.

    The Harvey/Kage Family



    Craig Harvey (Billy Murray)

    Craig is the baddest of the bad, he is the leader of the local Torbay gangster mob. Everybody suspects him of being so but no one can ever prove it. If ever something goes on in Baymoore that’s bad or illegal, everyone knows that Craig is to blame and the majority of the time he is. He is a horrid man who doesn’t get along with anybody even his family as he detests his mother in law Margaret, he always insults her and sometimes hits and her and because he is a control freak he often ends up hitting his wife Mandy. He owns the local garage: Harvey’s Motors, the only business in Baymoor that Richard Taylor doesn’t own, and Richard hates that. Craig runs his mob from an abandoned warehouse by Torbay harbour.



    Mandy Harvey(Caroline Quentin)

    Mandy is the troubled wife of Craig Harvey. She knows deep down that he is bad, but because of her love for him she tries to ignore everyone’s warnings about him. She is a shy woman, who is extremely scared of her husband, she’s scared of what he’ll do to her when he’s in a bad mood. She works at the amusement arcades and is a part time cleaner at the B&B. She loves her mother and sister and looks after them at the family home much to Craig’s annoyance.



    Leia Kage (Anna Friel)

    Leia is the attractive young daughter of Margaret Kage. She is extremely sexy, seductive and the kind of girl that most girls are too afraid to ask out on a date. She comes into Baymoore a few weeks in just come out of a divorce; she is loaded as she has taken half of her rich husband’s assets. Like her mother she is determined to rescue sister Mandy from her violent husband, but Leia can’t help feeling a sexual attraction between her and Craig, and the pair often end up in passionate kisses and steamy romps, despite her hatred for the man. In fact it’s a love/hate relationship.



    Margaret Kage (Patricia Routledge)

    Margaret is the mother of Mandy and Leia. Her soul purpose in life is to care and look after her two daughters no matter what. Margaret is well aware of how bad her son in law Craig is so she is always trying to convince Mandy of that and persuade her to leave him. She is a brave women as she isn’t scared of getting in Craig’s way and she can even give as good as she gets when he insults her and hits her. When she isn’t looking after her daughters she is socialising with old friends Annie Cavangher and Josie Falkirk. The trio are always in the pub, or café gossiping about the residents of Baymoore and often find themselves in trouble.

    THE BACHELOR BOYS



    Tom Adams (Joel Beckett)

    Tom is one of the three Bachelor lads and is by far the most sensible of the trio. He is very close to friends Romeo and Chris; together they are the best of friends. He is a kind and caring man who is a true romantic at heart. He works as a lifeguard on Baymoore beach and he rents out the boats and surfboards at the Beach Hut. He will soon date and fall in love and eventually marry supermodel Luqina whom he first meets on a date from the lonely-hearts column.



    Romeo Carboni (Gary Turner)

    Romeo is one of the three Bachelor lads. He is the step son of Rebecca. He is very close to friends Tom and Chris: together they are the best of friends. Romeo is Italian and hence he’s called the Italian Stallion because of nationality and his name, and he lives up to it.     Chris Langden (Ben Freeman)

    Chris is one of the three Bachelor lads and he is the main joker and flirt of the trio. He is very closer to friends Tom and Romeo: together they are the best of friends. He is always the first to dish out the jokes and come out with smutty remarks. He is a mechanic at Harvey’s Motors and has a one night stand with omeo's girlfriend Claire.



    Luqina Javel (Caterina Murino)

    Luqina is the beautiful attractive Mediterranean model that dates Tom Adams. She is extremely rich, with good looks and is a model in all men’s magazines. She is a highly sexual woman and is always keen to go to the bedroom. She truly cares for Tom but that doesn’t stop her from committing polygamy in the not too distant future.

    THE SINGH FAMILY



    Kashmir (Kash) Singh (Omi Puri)

    Kash Singh is the Indian owner of the Singh & Sons Convenience store. He is a stern and strict man who always demands to be in control of his family despite their desires to break free. He is quite old and believes that his children should behave like he did when he was young and rules over them like his father did him. Kash is a deeply worried man as his family is often branded by the residents at the “outcasts” of Baymoore as they don’t make many friends. His family business is also often vandalised ad his family abused by young racist thugs who come from all around Torbay.



    Sanjita Singh (Meera Syal)

    Sanjita Singh is the young wife of Kash Singh and mother to the Singh clan. She is a woman who is yearning to break away from her imprisoned marriage to Kash. She has never really loved him as it was an arranged marriage and wishes life had been different for her. She isn’t the perfect wife or mother and Kash reminds her of that all the time. Infact it is fair to say that he makes her life hell. She is young at heart and always wants to go out with the girls and has an eye for members of the opposite sex to Kash’s disapproval.



    Rubina (Ruby) Singh (Archie Panjabi)

    Rubina is the young and flirtatious daughter of Kash and Sanjita Singh. Like her mother she feels trapped by her father and wants to explore the world, and the most of the time she’ll argue with her father and do it anyway. She is a flirt, and dresses accordingly, she likes to part of the girly group and often arrives home late or the next morning which spurs even more arguments between her and her father.



    Andonis Singh (Ray Panthaki)

    Andonis Singh is the son of Kash and Sanjita Singh. He is still at school and is the school heart throb, but his heart is set on only one girl: Emma Andrews who is currently dating, but sometimes he lets his trousers do the thinking and ends up in bed with other girls, this jack the lad attitude means that his Father resents him, but as Andonis is his oldest son, he tries to get along with him and is set on Andonis taking over the family business, even tough Andonis wants to go to University.



    Mohammed Singh (Rahual Das)

    Mohammed is the young and intelligent son of Kash and Sanjita Singh. He is a boy who is pressurised by his father to achieve the best at school. He has extra torturing and is totally pushed to the extreme to work to get a place at a grammar school. He doesn’t want all the fuss and hard work and yearns to be just a normal boy like Daniel and Ross, but his father spoils him so he does as he’s told. He doesn’t really have any friends.



    Iqbal Singh (Jimmi Harkishin)

    Iqbal is the young and talented brother of Kash who along with his family move into Baymoore a couple of months into the soap. He and his family have seen the world and he totally disagrees with Kash’s way of life. He comes to try and tell Kash to change his way of life, but ends up opening a rival shop against his brother. He and Kash have never really been best of brothers but with the competition its clear that isn’t bout to change. Sanjita will fall in love and declare her feelings for Iqbal but what will he do?




    Marcus (Marc) Singh (Chris Bisson)


    Marc is the son of Iqbal Singh. He comes to Baymoore with his father to have a closer relationship with his Uncle Kash and family. His mother has just died and it has affected him very much. He is a ladies man and is basically an older version that Andonis. He fancies himself too much and often presumes that the opposite sex think the same about him. He will fall in love and date his cousin Ruby, with this being one of the year's biggest storylines.



    Mother/Granny Singh (Surendra Kochar)

    Mother to Kash and Iqbal Singh, and grandmother to all of her son’s children, she is never actually referred to by her real name. She is a comical grandmother like on the Kumar’s. She comes to Baymoore occasionally but doesn’t live their, she comes when there’s a special occasions or family crisis, she is the most forgettable, clumsily and comical character on the whole of the show. The Singh’s dread it when she visits.

    THE CAVANGHER FAMILY



    Eddie Cavangher (Jim Broadbent)

    Eddie is an old age pensioner and owner of the Baymoore B & B. He is a truly devoted man who loves his wife Annie dearly, they have one of the strongest relationships in Baymoore. However he isn’t in the best of health and is always clumsy. He likes his garden is generally like any other man of his age.



    Annie Cavangher (Anne Charlestone)

    The loving and caring wife of Eddie and owner of the Baymoore B &B. Annie is a kind woman who sees the best in everyone, she’s a shoulder to cry on and makes a perfect cup of tea. She is a cleanaholic and always makes sure that the B&B is in pristine condition. She regularly meets out with friends Margaret Kage and Josie Falkirk and together the three are serial gossipmongers who gossip in the pub or the café about anyone and anything.



    Josie Falkirk (Geraldine McEwan)

    Josie Falkirk is a close friend of the Cavangher family. Her family live in Paignton but she chooses to live in Baymoore at the B&B with long-term friends Eddie and Annie Cavangher. She helps Annie around the house with the cleaning and cooking and goes out a lot with Annie and Margaret Kage where the three gossip. Well into the future when the Carpenters leave Josie will buy the B&B and run it with her family.

    Natasha Jones (Tiffany Mulheron)

    Natasha Jones lives alone with her cat Ginger in the flat above the hairdressers. Despite living alone she has many friends and is part of the girly gang of Baymoore. She works as a waitress at Valentino’s Italian Restaurant, where she is continually having rows with her boss Rebecca Mansfield.



    Kyle Williams (Dermot O Leary)

    Kyle is the cocky and streetwise chancer than Vicky fell in love with when she was 18. The relationship didnt last, but Vicky became pregnant with his child: Daniel. Kyle is a selfish and charmisatic individual whos only goal is to get Vicky and Daniel at all costs.



    Dr Ryan Organo (Jeremy Sheffield)

    Ryan is the Taylors hunky and dashing private doctor. Ryan is an upper class arostrocrat and is also a private doctor. He will appear every now and again for health matters concering the Taylor family and their closest friends. Despite his status in society hes a wild child, drugs, sex, woman, cars you name it, he wants it. And he does anything to get it! Ryan had an sexual fling with Hilary and since has stayed out of the picture...but is that about to change?
