I figured as soon as Sam said he was ashamed of Samson that one of them would die. If Sam had of died then it would be a wake up call to Samson, but if Samson dies then Sam is going to struggle to forgive himself for what his last words to him were.

So we're still none the wiser as to whether Samson 8s alive or dead. But unless I imagined it then yesterday his phone was in some grass near a fallen tree not in the woods. So picked it up and stumbling around injured before ending up where he is now, or just a glaring mistake on Emmerdale's part?
