    Ken is furious with Peter
Airs on Monday, November 10 2008 at 19:30 GMT on ITV1

The after-effects of John’s actions are being felt by both Rosie and Fiz, who are struggling to get their lives back to normal. Rosie is jumpy and worried about being left alone, while Fiz is becoming increasingly stressed by John constantly phoning her.

Kirk is starting to wonder if it's the right time for him and Chesney to be going off to South Africa to see Cilla, leaving Fiz alone.

Dan introduces himself to Peter and asks him if he would be interested in buying the bookies off him. But Peter is still not in the right frame of mind to think about starting a new business as he struggles to cope with fatherhood.

Ken is furious when he finds Simon left home alone and tells Peter he doesn’t want him making the same mistakes he did with his children. On the upside, Simon’s presence seems to have a good effect on Leanne, who starts flirting with him a little more.

Tony is keeping quiet about raiding the payroll account and when, one by one, the girls discover their wages have not gone into their bank account, he makes himself scarce. The staff decide to down tools until they discover what's going on.

David is on the phone to his old cellmate Graeme which infuriates Tina who doesn’t want him to have anything to do with the ex-jail bird. David ignores her and agrees to let Graeme doss down on their sofa.

Airs on Monday, November 10 2008 at 20:30 GMT on ITV1

Blanche and Ken are reeling from the shock that Peter has called a social worker to take Simon away. Ken begs him to reconsider but even after talking to the social worker at length, Peter’s mind is made up.

Ken can’t bear the thought of Simon being taken away and offers to look after him instead. Blanche isn't sure how Deirdre will feel about the development when she returns from France but Peter is relieved and makes plans to return to Portsmouth.

The Underworld staff are up in arms and demand to know what's happened to their wages. Tony tries to cover but the girls don’t believe him. He tells them they can leave if they don’t trust him and promises to sort out the problem as soon as possible blaming a mix-up at the bank. He only wins them round by offering them a bonus of they finish the order on time.

Tina is less than impressed when she discovers that David has given Graeme £300 to buy him a car and when Graeme turns up in a fancy motor that has clearly been stolen, she's furious. Meanwhile, Gail and Joe are still skulking around trying to keep their romance a secret.

The factory staff are still worried about their wages and when they discover they still haven’t been paid, they confront Tony. Realising he's lied to them, the workforce down tools and walk out.

Desperate to get the order out, he offers them a sub to come back to work – will they accept or leave him high and dry.

Meanwhile, Fiz has only been back at work a day but when she gets a call from her mum Cilla in South Africa, she tells Tony she has to take time off immediately because of a family crisis.

Peter is surprised when his visit to Lucy’s solicitor proves extremely lucrative. She's left him everything in her estate on the proviso that he brings up his son.

Once back on the Street, Peter immediately makes Dan an offer for the bookies and Ken is delighted that he's decided to stay around and bring up Simon. But Ken’s pleasure turns to dismay when he discovers that Peter has only done it for the money.

Gail is loving the attention she is getting from Joe but is worried about how David will react when he finds out. She doesn’t have to wait too long, however, when David, Tina and Graeme return home unexpectedly and catch them together.

Elsewhere, Tara turns up at the corner shop and is not best pleased to find Dev and Eileen sharing a joke. She demands some answers from Dev and asks him to tell her the real reason he finished with her.

David and Tina are struggling to come to terms with the fact that their parents are an item but Joe tells David that he needs to grow up a bit. David tells Gail that he’s OK about them seeing each other as long as they don’t kiss in front of him.

Ken is worried that Peter will gamble away Simon’s inheritance but Peter wants to make a go of the business so he and his son have a future. When Ken refuses to see reason, Peter decides to pack his bags and take his son with him to the flat above the bookies.

Amber is stunned when she finds Tara emerging from Dev’s bedroom and quizzes her dad about what is going on. Prem reluctantly agrees to let Dev’s relationship with Tara continue but only for the sake of his daughter.

Dev is delighted that he can finally make plans for the future with Tara and he starts by offering to help Darryl out of a tight spot with the kebab shop.

Peter proudly shows Simon around the bookies and invites Leanne to have tea with them both this evening. Leanne accepts but later, she draws the line at playing mum...

No, the only reprisal from the character moves has been Daryl Morton who is now staying for a while longer.
