Denise's family and Lucas will represent the token black family on EE, so I don't think they will axe her. We could do without Chelsea though, her character is just awful and the acting leaves rather a lot to be desired too imo.

Denise Wicks goes from slappy to sloppy in a row with ex-lover Lucas Johnson.

The hunky pastor gets walloped during another of their highly-charged arguments but then he grabs Denise and kisses her.

And the widowed mum-of-two gets caught up in the moment and snogs him right back.

But, shocked by her lustful actions, she throws him out immediately afterwards and decides the best thing she can do is forget their clinch ever happened.

Fans of the hit BBC1 soap will see Denise fall out with her youngest daughter Libby over her plans for university.

Determined that nothing will get in the way of Libby going to Oxford, she persuades her daughter’s boyfriend Darren Miller to dump her.

Libby discovers the truth and turns to Lucas, her sister Chelsea’s dad, for advice.

He does his best to calm down the angry teen by telling her that her mum was only trying to do her best.

But when Denise discovers that Libby has been talking to Lucas she blames him for her problems.

An EastEnders insider said: “This has been coming for a while but viewers will still be shocked when it happens.

“Lucas just grabs hold of her, pulls her to him and starts kissing her passionately.

“Denise responds at first but then realises the enormity of what she’s done.

“This is definitely the start of something between these two.

“The chemistry has always been there between them – it’s just a question of whether or not she can get over the
past. But the truth is he’s now everything she always wanted him to be. She’s going to find it harder and harder to resist him.”

Lucas told Denise at the front door of her house, after they went clubbing, that he would not come in for coffee and that he will not have sex outside marriage. Being soapland, I will be very surprised if he can stick to it.
