    8-12 September

    Monday, 8 September 2008, 7:00PM - 7:30PM
    Episode: 5084

Bob (Tony Audenshaw) tries to make Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and Val (Charlie Hardwick) reconsider the legal action against him but Nicola claims that as Viv pleaded guilty, they want their money back. Flustered, Bob loses him temper whilst trying to prepare the twins to see Viv and throws his customers out of the café.

Later, as he chases after Heath’s (Sebastian Dowling) ball, Heath picks up the car keys and manages to lock himself and Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) inside the car. Distraught, Bob pays Eli £20 to break into the car. Bob leaves the twins with Edna (Shirley Stelfox) and heads off to see Viv. He later returns devastated and reveals to Edna that Viv does not want him to visit again as she feels it’s important they distance themselves. Can Bob carry on now Viv has severed all ties?

Meanwhile, Jimmy (Nick Miles) hires Zak (Steve Halliwell) to drive Scarlett (Kelsey-Beth Crossley) to college. Scarlett insists Zak take her to meet her mates shopping instead and offers him a hefty tip. Zak worries about how Jimmy would react but agrees. He is later forced to admit the situation to Debbie (Charley Webb) but convinces her they need the business. Can the Dingles fleece Jimmy indefinitely?

Elsewhere, Lexi (Sally Oliver) badgers Val to give her a job. Val persuades a reluctant Pollard (Chris Chittell) to give Lexi a trial at the factory. Lexi discovers that Pollard is recruiting for a supervisor to combat his unruly workforce. She puts her name forward, but the other workers prefer Lisa (Jane Cox). Who will win the battle to climb Pollard’s managerial ladder?

    Tuesday 9 September 7pm

Concerned for Bob (Tony Audenshaw), Edna (Shirley Stelfox) convinces the villagers to put the legal action on hold. Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) refuses, and plans to get an out of court settlement. Bob flips when she approaches him and states that as he’s got nothing to give, she might as well take the shirt off his back. Terry (Billy Hartman) shepherds a half-naked Bob out of the street, while, Val (Charlie Hardwick) berates Nicola for pushing him over the edge.

Bob races off in his car and arrives at the Hotton Courier, demanding to see the editor. After being told he’s busy, Bob is ejected from the building. Refusing to be beaten, Bob spots a decorator’s platform. Halfway up the side of the building, a crowd gather to watch Bob and he begins to rant that the Courier has ruined his life. Jasmine sees him and calls the village for help. Val and Terry rush to the building, fearing Bob will fall and eventually manage to coax him inside. After being cautioned by the police, Bob returns home feeling an utter failure. Can Bob recover after hitting rock bottom?

Elsewhere, Zak (Steve Halliwell) drops Scarlett (Kelsey-Beth Crossley) home after another skiving shopping trip and is horrified to realise Jimmy (Nick Miles) has spotted them. Zak makes a quick exit but Jimmy storms after him to the garage and lays into Debbie (Charley Webb). Debbie insists it won’t happen again, but Jimmy responds by declaring she can forget the King client taxi contract. Debbie is livid when Zak refuses to apologise to Jimmy and sacks him. Lisa demands they sort out their differences. They come to an agreement that Debbie will start paying Zak 50% of his wages and tips. Meanwhile Scarlett feels guilty for lying to Jimmy and agrees to give school another go. Have Debbie and Jimmy finally resolved their respective problems?

Also, Lisa (Jane Cox) is in two minds over whether to apply for the supervisor’s job. Lexi (Sally Oliver) takes a more direct approach, wearing low cut tops to impress Pollard (Chris Chittell). Pollard puts up a flip chart at the factory and announces he will be monitoring all workers performance before deciding on his supervisor. Realising Lisa is a faster worker, Lexi steals completed work from Pearl (Meg Johnson). Pearl gets upset privately to Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) after realising how slow she must be. At the end of the day Lisa is incredulous that Lexi is ahead. Will Lexi’s underhand tactics secure her the job?

    Wednesday 10 September 7pm

Zak (Steve Halliwell) vows to help Lisa (Jane Cox) get the job and devises a scam with the help of Eli (Joseph Gilgun), Shadrach (Andy Devine) Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Sam (James Hooton). They decide to steal curtains from the stately home that Pollard (Chris Chittell) recently supplied to increase Lisa’s productivity quota. Chas tries to flirt with the security guard to keep him occupied but is horrified to discover it’s a woman. The Dingles pretend to be decorators and blag their way into the house. Zak, Eli and Shadrach grab curtains before they all flee to the van. The Dingles congratulate themselves on a successful scam, but will it lead to victory for Lisa?

Also, Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is dealt another blow when he receives a large bill from his solicitors. Grateful for Terry (Billy Hartman) and Brenda’s (Lesley Dunlop), Bob worries that he can’t pay the bill. Terry suggests Bob move in with him as he needs childcare help too. Bob agrees and asks Brenda if she would consider moving into the flat. Brenda is keen to be nearer Gennie and agrees. Has Bob finally put the worst behind him?

Katie (Sammy Winward) confides in Matthew (Matt Healy) that she’s unsure the stables can survive her blackened name. Matthew shows Anna (Emma Davies) round the stables and tells Katie he’s found a potential buyer. Katie is angry she’s so disposable and storms off. Anna accuses Matthew of having a hidden agenda with Katie which he denies. Will Katie prove herself in time to save her business?

    Thursday 11 September 7pm

Pollard (Chris Chittell) is impressed when Lisa (Jane Cox) presents him with the additional curtains and Lexi (Sally Oliver) is peeved to learn she is behind. Pollard announces he will reveal his supervisor at the end of the shift, so Lexi forces Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) to hand over all of her work. When Pollard is unhappy with the quality of Lexi’s work, Lexi rages at Gennie’s incompetence. Lisa hears and is furious with Lexi for bullying Gennie. Pollard hauls Lexi into his office and the others are convinced she’s getting the sack. Afterwards Pollard stuns the workers by announcing Lexi is his new supervisor. Lisa is horrified. Pollard quietly admits to Lexi that her deviousness makes her perfect for the job. Will Lexi make the workers’ lives a living hell?

Meanwhile, Katie (Sammy Winward) is incredulous upon learning that Matthew (Matt Healy) met Anna (Emma Davies) simply to shock her into action and demands he attend a business meeting with her to help her win back an important client. Katie is thrilled when the client agrees to stabling four horses and thanks Matthew for his support. Over a drink later, Katie is shocked to hear that Matthew has gambled the future of the business on a single deal. Has Matthew put the future of King & Sons in jeopardy?

Elsewhere, gossip is rife as Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) moves into the flat and her overly indignant response does nothing to dispel it. Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is having second thoughts about moving, but Jamie (Alex Carter) pledges to help his father and Bob agrees, hoping that he can move back when Viv is released. When Brenda later tells him about the rumour mill, Bob worries that Viv will think he’s moved in with another woman. Gennie is awkward upon hearing of her mum’s new living arrangements, but Bob feels much more positive after informing Viv of his plan. When Jamie reveals he’s paid for Bob to visit daughter Roxy, he’s thrilled. Will Bob return a new man?

Debbie (Charley Webb) is shocked when Sarah (Sophia Amber Moore) draws a picture of Jo (Roxanne Pallett) crying with Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) towering over her. Sam (James Hooton) asserts he knew he was right and tells Debbie about bruised Jo being in hospital. Debbie refuses to accept Andy could hit Jo but is determined to investigate for her daughter’s sake. Debbie confronts Jo who quickly denies it but under pressure breaks down and admits the truth, begging Debbie to keep it secret. Debbie can’t believe Jo hasn’t left Andy but Jo explains she still loves him. Jo begs Debbie to believe that Andy will never hit her again and that Sarah is safe. Will Debbie keep Jo’s secret and remain quiet?

Elsewhere, Donna (Verity Rushworth) suffers a panic attack in her physiotherapy session and Marlon (Mark Charnock) is shocked to see his wife so weak. Paddy (Dominic Brunt) tries to reassure him. When she wakes up Marlon encourages her but Donna fears the panic attacks will continue. Under pressure, Marlon feels useless when Donna begs him to make her normal again. Can Marlon save his wife’s broken mind?

Also, Lisa (Jane Cox) refuses to go into work in protest at Lexi’s (Sally Oliver) promotion. The workers unite as Lexi begins to rule with an iron fist and decide to work slowly. After a telling off from Pollard, Lexi warns the workers to work harder or risk losing their jobs. Pollard visits Lisa and offers to match her wage to Lexi’s if she returns. Lisa refuses, but when Pollard reveals his knowledge of the Dingles’ curtain scheme she has no option but to reconsider. However, Lisa gets her revenge when she forces Pollard to review the pay structure of the other workers too. Will Lisa’s victory signal the end of the factory stalemate?
