A member of So Solid Crew has been jailed for life for gunning down his love rival in a revenge attack.
Carl Morgan, 24, from Battersea, south London, murdered Colin Scarlett outside his home last November.Judge Brian Barker ordered he should serve a minimum of 30 years before he can be considered for parole.
The Old Bailey jury heard Morgan, the rap band's producer, had been beaten up by Scarlett, his ex-girlfriend's new partner.Bent on revenge, Morgan confronted him on his home territory in Wandsworth.
Morgan was convicted of the murder last week, but sentence was adjourned until today.The jury was unable to agree a verdict on his co-defendant, So Solid's 'Megaman', and a retrial will be held on March 20 next year.
Megaman, 26, appeared in court under his real name Dwayne Vincent, from Barons Court, west London.Both he and Morgan denied murdering Mr Scarlett.
Judge Barker told Morgan: "The prosecution describe this as a revenge execution borne out of humiliation and I agree."Three bullets hit Scarlett. He did return fire but there is no evidence of them finding their mark or anyone on your side receiving injury.
"You have taken away a young life and although his friends and family will get used to his death, they will never get over it."
