Emmerdale will face a scheduling shake-up from ITV amid the dark revelations regarding John Sugden.
The character arrived in the village last year, subsequently landing a position at the doctor?s surgery whilst beginning a relationship with Aaron Dingle as he became a popular figure in the community.
Things are rarely so simple in soap-land, however, with recent scenes revealing that John isn?t quite as benevolent as he first seemed, with the character showcasing his darker side after he had a bad day at work.
With more secrets set to be unearthed, fans will unfortunately be kept on tenterhooks over the Easter holidays as the episode scheduled for Monday 21 April has been removed from the slate, with ITV instead opting to air the Championship fixture between Burnley and Sheffield Utd.
The soap will return as planned the following night (22 April), with the missing 30 mins being made up for this coming week (14 April) as the action kicks off with a bumper, hour-long instalment.
The shake-up comes amid some shocking revelations regarding John, with this week?s scenes confirming that he had orchestrated some of the incidents in the village to satisfy his own hero complex whilst also being responsible for the death of Nate Robinson.
Oliver Farnworth, who debuted as John back in August, recently spoke about his character?s darker side, sharing: ?For me, the exciting thing is that the viewers find out first before anyone else in the village. So it's letting them into these big secrets that John's been harbouring.
?It's caused him a lot of stress and anguish having to hide things. I think the fact that the viewers find out first is going to be really exciting, although I'll see what the backlash is, I guess! It was bound to happen at some point, so I'm glad it's come out now.
?The different intricacies of the character are just so interesting to play. He's not just a villain or a bad person on paper ? there's way more to it than that. Even day by day, week by week, I'm literally still discovering things about him. There's plenty more to come - it's a gift of a part.?

Here's the gut-wrenching moment that Emmerdale's Mackenzie Boyd finds Liam Cavanagh unconscious next week, bleeding from a serious head injury.
As wife-to-be Chas Dingle and her son Aaron rush to his side, they're sickened to find Liam brutally attacked and left for dead ? but who did this?
With the walls closing in on dangerous John Sugden, perhaps Liam got close to the truth and became the murderous medic's latest victim?
"Liam's attack could be fatal. This is his third head injury in two months. The terror in Mack's eyes says it all ? this attack was savage," our Emmerdale source reveals.
The obvious suspect for Liam's collapse is John, considering the former army doctor is already spiralling under the weight of his dark secrets.
Now his sister Victoria is digging dangerously into his past, and we've seen his temper flare?
Victoria begins with good intentions as she meets up with John's mate Connor to get the low-down on her mysterious brother ahead of his stag do.
As she listens to the gossip about her sibling, Victoria can't believe her ears when she learns that John's ex-boyfriend Aidan Moore is still alive.
Previously, John had opened up about Aidan's death, claiming he was a mate who had died in action. John kept his treasured dog tags close, but later threw them away as a declaration of love to Aaron Dingle, changing his story and revealing that Aidan was an ex.
"Little does Victoria know, John's been visiting comatose Aidan in hospital," our insider explains.
"All this time, John's been lying about this monumental person in his life. What does this mean for his relationship with Aaron?"
In shock, Victoria takes in Connor's explanation about what happened to Aidan in Afghanistan, and the revelation that he's currently hooked up to machines in a Leeds hospital. Vic heads there, still reeling, to be faced with the man she thought was dead.
Later, the troubled chef confronts her brother, telling him she knows all about Aidan. With one of his close secrets out in the open, John flies into a panic, looking for an escape as Victoria lays into him for lying.
"John is volatile in defence mode," points out our source.
"If he doesn't lash out at Victoria, maybe Liam gets in his way. But is this attack playing right into his hands??
Could John play the hero again and save Liam's life to repair his reputation ? or will he flee the village before Vic tells Aaron everything and wrecks the wedding?

Emmerdale's Kim Tate and Cain Dingle become unlikely allies next week when they team up to put an end to Caleb Miligan's crusade against Joe Tate.
As the high-stakes feud intensifies, Kim is forced into making an offer that can't be refused ? or so she hopes?
"The Tates have always treated the Dingles like dirt. But scheming to steal an organ without their consent is a whole new level of animosity," our Emmerdale insider says.
"New revelations about Joe's actions leave suspicious Caleb wanting revenge. Kim's had enough and decides to intervene, before the vendetta drags both families down!"
Relations between Caleb and Joe sour further when the police pay a visit to the Miligans. Fearful that the cops want to dig deeper into Anthony Fox's disappearance, Caleb is relieved when the officers explain they're investigating a break-in at the depot.
Sensing Caleb's unease with the police presence, Joe can't resist the opportunity to goad his enemy, leading to another aggressive showdown.
It's only thanks to Cain stepping in that the pair don't beat each other to a pulp.
Concerned at how much Joe is pushing his brother's buttons, Cain takes a trip to the posh end of the village to sort out the mess?
"Kim is surprised to find Cain waiting for her at Home Farm," our source reveals. "Clearly he hasn't popped in for a spot of high tea!
"He admits his worries that Caleb and Joe's rivalry is getting out of hand, which could have dangerous consequences for both clans. Cain asks for Kim's help to shut this down before the situation gets worse. Will she listen?"
It seems Kim takes Cain's words seriously, as when Joe joins the conversation, she berates her step-grandson for the way he's been carrying on.
Dishing out some home truths, Kim and Cain warn sulky Joe if he continues down this path, he and Caleb could both end up behind bars.
Later, Caleb and Ruby Fox-Miligan are summoned to Home Farm for peace talks with Kim, and find Joe and Cain also waiting with anticipation. Determined to bring an end to this war, Kim plays referee as Caleb and Joe thrash out their differences, but the tete-a-Tate descends into a rowdy argument.
"Kim and Cain start to wonder if it was a mistake getting these two in the same room," our source shares.
"Recognising Caleb feels wronged, Kim gifts him the land surrounding his depot, which she currently owns, to expand his empire. Will it bring about a truce?"
Caleb accepts and they shake on the deal, then the Dingles leave the Tate twosome. Once they're gone, Joe promises narked Kim he'll never deceive her again, while Kim gloats that her deal with Caleb merely means she can keep a closer eye on their enemies.
Rather than this being the end of the arguments between the powerful Dales dynasties, it seems Kim is kicking off a new era of hatred?

Emmerdale's Billy Fletcher suspects his wife Dawn is having an affair next week and goes in all guns blazing ? but he goes after the wrong guy.
After Mackenzie Boyd and Joe Tate feed Billy's paranoia following the breakdown of his marriage, the personal trainer unleashes his fury on Ross Barton for sleeping with his wife. But when Ross denies any involvement with Dawn, will Billy realise what's happening right under his nose?
"Billy is so near to the truth, yet so far away," our Emmerdale source reveals.
"He's struggling to make sense of his marriage collapse, and Ross seems like the obvious answer. If only he knew his wife's affair had been happening right under the same roof!"
For months Billy has been oblivious to Dawn's fling, but tensions have pushed the married couple towards separation ? and now Billy's asking himself why their relationship ended.
It's Mack who first plants a seed of doubt in Billy's mind that Dawn's cheating with Ross, and when Billy starts doing more digging, his suspicions rise.
First, he realises Dawn has changed the passcode to her phone, and then something Joe says convinces Billy even more that Dawn is sleeping with Ross.
"Ross is a massive flirt and an easy target for Billy's suspicions," our insider explains.
"Plus, Ross and Dawn have history. But when Billy goes to attack Ross, their furious fight alarms Clemmie, who hears all about her mum's supposed affair?"
Clemmie is devastated by Billy's outburst, and he's gutted to realise he's made such a colossal mistake. With his life in tatters, Billy breaks down and finds a shoulder to cry on ? Joe's! Although the cheating businessman feels a pang of guilt, he reminds Dawn it's for the best.
When forgiving Ross encourages Billy to fight for his kids, Billy arrives with flowers for Dawn, and the pair reluctantly sit down to tell the kids about their split after they ask some difficult questions.
Heartbroken at his shattered family, Billy faces the reality of moving out of Home Farm and away from the kids, as Dawn wrestles with her guilt. But how long can she keep her new love a secret?
"The reveal of Joe and Dawn's romance is a ticking time bomb," our source teases. "And with Kim letting Billy live on the grounds in the holiday cottage, it's surely only a matter of time before he sees what his wife's getting up to at Home Farm?"
Who was John talking to on the phone about a winner and he is claiming to be somebody else but is nominating John for winning as he recently saved another life, Jacob Gallagher... ??
