Lily Slater (played by Lillia Turner) is really struggling with her grief after the death of her dad, Martin Fowler,

Lily's school friends, Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), are determined to cheer her up.

Avani suggests the girls all skip school and go on a daytime adventure instead!

The teenagers are almost busted by Avani's mum Priya (Sophie Khan Levy), who agrees to turn a blind eye since it's for Lily's benefit!

However, things take a terrible turn when the friends encounter Marvin, the guy who sold Avani vapes last year.

Marvin offers the girls drugs...

Later at the Police Station, Avani is questioned alone without either of her parents Priya or Ravi (Aaron Thiara) around.

WHAT will a horrified Avani do when the Police want to strip search her, believing she could be hiding drugs...

Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) has discharged himself from the psychiatric hospital.

He feels ready to return home for the first time since that fateful night when he planned to shoot himself.

Phil is grateful for the support of his close friends including Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley).

However, he isn't ready for the rest of Albert Square to know where he has been for the past month.

Will the truth about Phil remain a secret?

There's news about the Queen Vic.

Pub landlady Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) discovers there will be a payout from the insurance company to rebuild the pub after the explosion.

However, Linda is soon feeling sidelined when her bossy mum, Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), takes over the renovation plans.

After Linda moans to friend Denise Fox (Diane Parish) about her mum, Denise's sister Kim (Tameka Empson) suggests Linda needs a nice distraction from all the drama.

But how will Linda react when match-maker Kim reckons it's time for her to get back in the dating game?


Tuesday

Nobody messes with Suki Panesar's (played by Balvinder Sopal) family and gets away with it

Suki arrives at the Police Station where she is shocked to discover that teenage family relative, Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), has been strip-searched by two female officers...

Without the knowledge of Avani's parents, Ravi (Aaron Thiara) and Priya (Sophie Khan Levy)...

Suki is determined to lodge an official complaint over Avani's treatment but the schoolgirl won't let her.

Avani just wants to put the whole humiliating ordeal behind her.

However, that is not the end of the matter...

Back at home, Avani gets into an argument with Priya over where she has been.

Priya is unaware that Avani and her school friends, Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) and Lily Slater (Lillia Turner), were all taken to the Police Station on suspicion of drugs possession!

But while Amy and Lily were both released, Avani was detained for longer.

It's not long before Priya discovers the SHOCK truth about her daughter's ordeal at the Police Station.

She wastes no time in storming over the Square to confront local copper, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) about what happened to Avani!

But Priya's angry rampage just adds to Avani's shame and humiliation.

At home alone, Avani breaks down...


Wednesday

Phil Mitchell (played by Steve McFadden) doesn't want everybody on Albert Square knowing about his recent mental health breakdown

Phil is back home after discharging himself from the psychiatric hospital.

He tries to brave it out after there is local speculation about what has happened to Phil.

Phil's friend, George Knight (Colin Salmon), wants to be supportive.

But the men find it awkward and difficult to have a real conversation about what has been going on.

Meanwhile, Phil's mate, Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley), lies about going to see the doctor about his dementia...

Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), her wife Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) are deeply worried about Priya's teenage daughter, Avani (Aaliyah James).

Avani feels humiliated and betrayed now that Suki has revealed the truth about Avani being strip searched by the Police.

Avani is in a spin over how to move past what has just happened to her.

Needing some distance from her family, Avani makes her way to the playground where she starts to drink from a bottle of vodka...

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is happily distracting herself from the recent disaster at the Vic.

By match making between her son Johnny (Charlie Suff) and barman Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison)!

But how will Johnny react to his mum's interference in his love life?

Meanwhile, with the pub temporarily out-of-action, Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and her sister Anna (Molly Rainford) approach Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) about work at Harry's Barn.

But it looks like things could get competitive between the sisters when Nicola reveals she only has ONE job opening going!


Thursday

Ravi Gulati (played by Aaron Thiara) remains unaware of what happened to his teenage daughter, Avani (Aaliyah James), at the Police Station

However, on today's episode of the BBC soap parents Ravi and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) are alarmed to discover that Avani has gone AWOL.

Things get even worse when they find her passed out in the playground, after drinking from a bottle of vodka...

After a trip to the doctor, Ravi starts to suspect that something serious is up with Avani.

Will family members Priya or Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) reveal the truth about Avani's ordeal at the Police Station?

And if the women do, will tough guy Ravi KICK-OFF?

Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and her sister Anna (Molly Rainford) arrive at Harry's Barn to compete for a job.

But they soon discover it won't be wine bar boss Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) putting them through their paces.

Instead, it's Nicola's son, Harry (Elijah Holloway).

Things get heated when Harry takes great delight in winding Gina up!

Meanwhile, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is nervous as she prepares to get back into the dating game.

How will her first date with Jeff (Alex Dillon) go?

George Knight (Colin Salmon) is determined to support his troubled mate, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

He's just not sure how.

George decides to ask Phil to be his sparring partner as The Boxing Den.

The activity helps Phil, who recently discharged himself from a psychiatric hospital.

EastEnders has confirmed a horrifying ordeal for Avani Nandra-Hart next week in a harrowing new drugs storyline.

This week, Avani and Amy Mitchell reach out to their friend Lily Slater after her dad Martin's death and try to help her cope with her grief.

But with Lily still struggling next week, Avani wants to show her support and suggests that the three of them skip school to have an adventure.

The trio are quickly caught by Priya Nandra-Hart, but Avani convinces her mum not to say anything as they are trying to cheer Lily up.

While their day is going well, they bump into Marvin, who sold Avani vapes last year, and he offers the teenagers drugs. They refuse to get involved but it's too late, as the police arrive and realise the girls are out of school.

The police then spot a bag of pills that Marvin has dropped by Avani's feet, so the trio are taken to the station. But while Amy and Lily are collected by Jack Branning and Jean Slater, Priya and Ravi Gulati fail to answer calls about Avani.

Alone at the station, Avani is horrified when she is told that she needs to be strip searched, as they believe she could be concealing more drugs.

In shocking scenes that will air in a special episode on Tuesday, March 25, Avani is strip searched by two female officers, having refused the offer of an appropriate adult in the room.

Suki Panesar is tipped off by Jean and arrives at the station to collect Avani, disgusted by what has happened ? but Avani doesn't want her grandmother to make a complaint.

Back at home, an oblivious Priya asks Avani about where she has been, and the pair end up in an argument, with Avani accusing Priya of being a bad mother.

Priya soon finds out about Avani's detainment and strip search, and she confronts Jack about the actions of his officers. Meanwhile, Avani is humiliated and lashes out at her friends, before breaking down once she is finally alone.

Later in the week, Suki, Priya and Eve Panesar-Unwin worry about Avani, while the struggling teenager secretly heads to the playground to drink a bottle of vodka.

Priya and Ravi soon discover that Avani is missing and are shocked to find their daughter passed out in the playground. Ravi realises something is wrong after they visit the doctor, and Suki finally tells him what happened to Avani.

Will Avani be able to move forward from her ordeal?

EastEnders has revealed that an unexpected new romance for Linda Carter will kick off next week.

Linda has had a tough year, with the struggle to cover up Keanu Taylor's death leading to a heartbreaking relapse in her alcohol addiction.

Her drinking spiralled out of control and almost wrecked her relationships with her loved ones, but a terrifying vision of the future made Linda finally accept help at Christmas.

She went to rehab for a couple of months and returned to Walford in February, feeling positive about the future. But she has since faced more turmoil, with the explosion in The Vic destroying her livelihood and leaving her family homeless.

But things might be looking up, as in scenes that will air next week, Linda is pleased to get a call from the insurance company who confirm that they will get a payout to rebuild the pub.

However, Elaine Peacock quickly gets involved and takes over the plans for The Vic, leaving Linda feeling sidelined.

She expresses her frustrations to Denise Fox, but Kim Fox overhears and suggests that Linda focuses on something else ? proposing that she gets back into the dating game.

Linda is quick to dismiss the idea of finding love again but she is still in the mood for romance, so she decides to try and set up her son Johnny with Felix Baker.

She continues to play matchmaker during the week ? though Johnny and Felix sadly won't work out long-term, with Matthew Morrison leaving his role as Felix later this year.

Meanwhile, Linda remembers that she promised herself that she would move on and be happy, so she eventually agrees to let Kim find her a date.

As she gets ready for her evening, Linda admits that she is nervous, and Johnny tries to reassure his mum about this big step forward.

Linda meets up with her mystery date Jeff at Harry's Barn, and she attempts to relax and make small talk.

Aside from a kiss with friend Alfie Moon last year, Linda hasn?t entertained a love life since her beloved Mick's assumed death. But is she now finally ready to move on?

Avani wants to help Lily through her grief for Martin. She convinces Lily and Amy to skip school with her so they can have an adventure together. Priya catches them, but Avani asks her to keep quiet because it's important to help cheer Lily up.

The day goes wrong when the girls bump into Marvin, the boy who sold vapes to Avani last year. Marvin offers them drugs and Avani refuses. When the police arrive, they realise the girls have skipped school and spot a bag of pills that Avani dropped.

Avani, Lily and Amy are all taken to the police station. Jack and Jean are on hand to bring Amy and Lily home, but Priya and Ravi fail to answer calls about Avani.

Avani is horrified when the police officers insist they need to strip search her as they believe she could have more drugs hidden.

Meanwhile, Phil is adamant that he doesn't want his neighbours to know that he's been in a mental health facility. Later at the caf?, Phil blurts out that Nigel is unwell when he makes some mistakes in the caf?. Nigel is furious and snaps back.

Elsewhere, Elaine annoys Linda by taking over plans to rebuild The Vic.

Also today, Kim suggests that Linda should get back into the dating game. Linda dismisses this and tries to set Johnny up with Felix.

Later, Priya finds out about Avani being detained and strip searched. She storms over to confront Jack about Avani's ordeal with officers from the police station where he works.

Lily and Amy are also horrified when they discover what happened to her friend, but Avani lashes out at both Suki and Amy.

Once alone at home, though, Avani finally breaks down.

Later, Nigel lies to Linda about attending his latest doctor's appointment.

Elsewhere, Linda's plan to matchmake Johnny and Felix continues. She also agrees to let Kim find her a date for herself.

Also today, Nicola forces Gina and Anna to compete for a bar job at the club.

Elsewhere, Harry can't resist winding Gina up when he oversees her and Anna's trial at the club.

Also today, Linda meets her new date Jeff at Harry's Barn.
