Emmerdale has confirmed that Joe Tate's shocking plan will finally become clear next week.

After weeks of speculation about what Joe is really up to, fans can expect some answers in tense scenes.

Viewers have seen Joe hiding a mysterious health condition ever since he returned to the village at Christmas.

Mysteriously, Joe also spiked his half-brother Noah Dingle in order to take him to see a dodgy doctor at a private hospital. This sparked speculation that Joe could be searching for a possible donor to save his life.

Next week, Joe continues to conceal his health issue around Home Farm.

In an unexpected u-turn, Joe also remains cold towards his secret lover Dawn Fletcher. When Dawn tries to tempt Joe into a romantic rendezvous, he rejects her efforts and seems determined to suddenly keep her at arm's length.

One reason for this is that Joe wants to keep Dawn away from a mystery suitcase that he has stashed in his room.

After Dawn finally gives up and leaves Joe alone, viewers see the ruthless businessman open the case to reveal its contents.

Later, Joe appears to be succumbing to his illness as he looks worse than ever.

When Joe answers the door to Dr Crowley, they talk things through and their sinister plan is finally shared with the Emmerdale audience. What are they plotting?

Ned Porteous, who plays Joe, previously teased: "Joe has always been a character with a dark side, but there could be something much bigger at play here. Joe is back for a reason, and the devastation at Home Farm is just the beginning of a much bigger story."

Emmerdale airs a surprise proposal for Aaron Dingle next week, but a shock collapse soon threatens to overshadow the happy occasion.

Aaron is stunned when his partner John Sugden decides to pop the question, just a few months after they officially became a couple.

In a big week for the pair's relationship, John becomes determined to prove just how serious he is about Aaron.

At the start of the week, John admits that he's feeling insecure as Aaron's mum Chas doesn't seem to accept him.

Aaron is dismayed to hear that this is playing on John's mind, but he's touched when he sees how keen John is to get in Chas's good books.

Before long, Chas and her partner Liam Cavanagh are delighted as they're treated to a surprise engagement party at The Woolpack following their recent news.

Aaron makes sure that John gets the credit for setting it all up, convinced that this will be enough to win over Chas.

Later in the evening, John takes the opportunity to propose to Aaron.

He's thrilled when Aaron says yes, but the couple are put on the spot when Mandy Dingle overhears their news and announces it to the entire pub.

Chas is visibly unhappy and tries to speak to Aaron in private, suggesting that he may be rushing into the engagement. Neither of them notices that John is listening to the conversation ? clearly hurt by Chas's reaction.

As John despairs over Chas's obvious disapproval, his sister Victoria suggests that he'll just have to work hard and play the long game with his future mother-in-law.

Later, disaster strikes when Chas mysteriously collapses in the pub and hits her head.

Will John be able to put his medical skills to good use and rescue Chas? And with intense speculation growing among fans that John has a dark side, could he have had something to do with her collapse in the first place?

Sarah is intrigued to meet a new lad called Kammy.

Despite his spark with Sarah, Kammy is nervous to be back in the village with a quad bike that he stole from Moira's farm. When Ross approaches, whose side Sarah will take?

Meanwhile, Manpreet prepares to finally meet with her blackmailer in person. When Joe appears, Manpreet rages at him for his cruelty. However, when she finally accepts his protestations of innocence, she's fearful about the real blackmailer.

Manpreet's tempted when Joe offers to help her pay off the blackmailer. But will she find out what is going on?

Elsewhere, Chas and Liam are shocked to be invited to a surprise engagement party for them at the Woolpack.

During the gathering, John seizes a moment to propose to Aaron and is delighted when he says yes. However, his joy is short-lived when an eavesdropping Mandy announces their engagement to the whole pub and Chas looks less than thrilled.

Also today, Billy wrestles with his guilt before he blurts out a confession to Dawn ? he's been messaging another woman online. Billy's surprised but grateful to Dawn for her forgiveness and understanding after his confession, not knowing she's been up to much worse. However, their conversation leaves Dawn in turmoil.

In scenes that will air next week, Ross Barton arrives in the village in a fancy new pick-up truck. Mack Boyd's suspicions are immediately raised, as he knows there has recently been a string of thefts of farm machinery in the local area.

Later, Mack is unable to stop someone from stealing a quad bike from sister Moira Dingle's farm, and he is quick to blame Ross.

But it later becomes clear that Ross isn't to blame for the theft, when Sarah comes across a mysterious young man on a county lane struggling to start a quad bike.

While Sarah isn't convinced by his cover story, she can't help but feel drawn to the stranger, Kammy. With Kammy also feeling a spark, he agrees to head over to the village with Sarah, despite his nerves over being seen with the quad bike.

Suspicious, Ross soon approaches the pair about the bike, leaving Kammy rattled. But he's surprised when Sarah, despite clearly knowing that he's stolen the quad, covers for him.

When Ross leaves, Sarah announces that she wants in on Kammy's racket, and it isn't long before the pair are racing stolen quad bikes across a field.

Sarah loves hanging out with Kammy, feeling that he's putting a spark of excitement and fun back into her life. She later brings him back to her home, and the pair start getting close on the sofa.

They're soon forced apart when Sarah's grandmother Charity Dingle walks in on them ? but how will she react to what she sees? And could Kammy end up being a bad influence on Sarah?

Emmerdale bosses have teased that Kammy, played by Shebz Miah, will bring "an element of danger, romance, excitement and, above all else, his inherent charm" to the village, with producer Laura Shaw adding that the newcomer is "ultimately kind at heart".

Emmerdale's Steph Mulligan is set to reveal a shocking plan after learning the truth about her dead grandfather Anthony.

This week, Steph finally learned the truth about her parentage, with mum Ruby revealing that she was sexually abused by her father Anthony as a teenager and that Anthony was Steph's real dad.

Ruby also finally told Steph that she was the one who killed Anthony, despite Caleb claiming it was him to cover for his wife.

Following the shocking revelations, a devastated Steph is set to go missing in upcoming scenes next week, worrying her parents sick.

Ruby and Caleb live every parent's worst nightmare as Steph is AWOL and unreachable by phone. They're particularly concerned about the timing of her disappearance after such traumatic news.

It takes some time, but Ruby suddenly has a hunch at where Steph could be hiding out.

She heads to the nearby woods - in particular the spot where Anthony's body is buried - and there she finds her daughter.

Ruby consoles her daughter and tells her that they will work together through the shared trauma, promising everything will be okay.

Steph, however, has come to her own conclusion following recent events and has concocted a plan.

She gathers together a team of various conspirators and announces her shocking plan - but what could it be?

As for the conspirators, Aaron Dingle, John Sugden, Chas Dingle and Cain Dingle have all been actively involved in trying to keep Ruby's killer secret. Could they be the ones Steph turns to for help with her plan?

Emmerdale has confirmed the identity of Manpreet Sharma's secret blackmailer.

The truth is revealed in Tuesday's hour-long episode, which is available for early streaming on ITVX.

Viewers have seen Manpreet's world turned upside-down since someone started tormenting her with nasty messages over her decision to run an Only Fans-style page with adult content.

Manpreet has since closed her account, but the unknown individual is still threatening to ruin her medical career by releasing pre-saved screenshots from the page.

In Tuesday's episode, Manpreet arranges to meet with the blackmailer to hand over money to guarantee their silence.

Manpreet is furious when Joe Tate shows up, but he firmly denies being the person who's trying to extort money from her. Instead, he promises to support Manpreet by paying off the blackmailer for her ? which, of course, is all too good to be true.

Just when it seems that Manpreet's woes are nearing an end, viewers see that she has fallen into a clever trap.

Joe is revealed to have engineered the blackmail texts after all, wanting to sneakily befriend Manpreet as part of his bigger agenda.

Fans can see exactly what Joe has in mind for Manpreet when the episode airs at 7pm tonight on ITV1, or right now on ITVX.

Last night, Emmerdale revealed that Joe has chronic kidney disease. The condition is so serious that he is being treated with dialysis, and is hoping to arrange a transplant.

Joe is in cahoots with dodgy Dr Crowley and recently schemed to get his half-brother Noah Dingle tested as a potential match in a private hospital.

Noticing that Joe looked worse than ever, Crowley complained last night: "This is what happens when you fly back from Dubai, against my advice.

"Joseph, you have chronic kidney disease. You're paying me to keep you alive. The least you can do is meet me half-way."
