Coronation Street has revealed that Shona Platt may be the first person to figure out who set her family home on fire.

The ITV soap launched a new mystery storyline this week as someone posted a burning rag through the letterbox at No.8, causing a massive blaze.

Various characters have been named as suspects in the case ? including Shona's husband David, who had previously joked about committing arson at the house in an insurance scam.

David owes money to dangerous gangster Harvey Gaskell and is facing intense pressure to pay him back.

Next week, Kevin Webster steps in with some CCTV footage which shows the arsonist at work.

Kevin shows the footage to Shona and Nick Tilsley. Shona is clearly horrified by what she sees in the clip, but quickly covers her reaction. Does this mean that the culprit is somebody close to home?

Meanwhile, David remains in big trouble after being arrested over the fire.

As DC Kit Green continues to question David, Adam Barlow pressures the corrupt detective to release him as there's no firm evidence to suggest that he started the blaze.

Nick also regrets jumping to conclusions so quickly, so he apologises to David for accusing him of starting the fire.

Vengeful Leanne Battersby is also in the frame as Kit decides to interview her next.

Kit lists all of the pieces of evidence which suggest Leanne's involvement. Leanne admits that it looks bad, but assures him that she's innocent.

The police hold off on charging Leanne when new evidence comes to light and goes through forensic testing.

Once the forensics report comes back, Kit is shocked by the results. Is it finally enough to charge one of the suspects?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 12 on ITV1 and ITVX.

Coronation Street has officially confirmed Rob Donovan's prison fling storyline.

New pictures released by the ITV soap show Rob sharing a passionate moment with prison guard Mandy next week.

Mandy, played by former Shameless star Rebecca Atkinson, made her debut on the show last month for some dramatic scenes with Rob, Matty Radcliffe and Bobby Crawford in the prison visiting room.

In next week's scenes, Mandy collects Rob from his cell and asks him whether he still wants to go ahead with his plan.

Rob has agreed to become a kidney donor for his sister Carla Connor, but only because he believes he can use the opportunity as part of his bigger agenda.

Mandy, who's in cahoots with Rob, soon gives in to temptation by kissing him passionately.

Later, Carla receives a call to let her know that Rob has been rushed to hospital after an allergic reaction to some antibiotics.

Carla rushes off to visit Rob, but Mandy steps in by claiming that the consultant needs a word with her.

With Carla distracted, Mandy uncuffs Rob and gives him an opportunity to make a run for it.

While we can't give away the exact details of how this story plays out, it seems that Mandy's plan doesn't pay off this time as Rob remains in jail later in the week.

Carla receives an email confirming that Rob is a suitable match for the kidney transplant, so the operations will take place the following day.

She visits her brother in jail to share the big news, hoping that he's still prepared to go through with it.

The next day at the hospital, the doctor reveals that Carla's operation will be delayed.

Fearing the worst, Carla worries that Rob will back out if he has too much time on his hands to change his mind. Will Rob let Carla down?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, February 10, Wednesday, February 12 and Friday, February 14 on ITV1 and ITVX.

Is that really how it works? Next day? Carla tells him, not the doctor?

Good to see that, once again, the investigation of a major crime is to be put into the hands of a DC. It must save Weatherfield Police a lot of money as they obviously don't any inspectors, chief inspectors or superintendents. Mind you, they do seem to be paying their sergeant for not doing anything, so that's somewhere they could look to save a bit more money.

Coronation Street will air emotional scenes between Kevin Webster and Sally Metcalfe next week, as Kevin's testicular cancer storyline continues.

Corrie's new producer Kate Brooks confirmed late last year that Kevin would be diagnosed with cancer in 2025, and Kevin has already been attending hospital appointments after discovering a lump.

In scenes that will air on Wednesday, February 12 and Friday, February 14, Kevin realises that his wife Abi is struggling too much with her mental health to be able to come to his latest appointment with him.

As a result, Kevin's ex-wife Sally agrees to go with Kevin to receive his test results, following Kevin supporting her through her own cancer battle back in 2009.

The consultant confirms Kevin's results with him and tells him that he will need to have an operation, leading Kevin to rush out.

Later in the week, Kevin decides it's time to share his results with his son, Jack. How will Jack react to his dad's news?

Kate Brooks has told Digital Spy and other media that Kevin's cancer diagnosis will put "a massive strain on his relationship" due to Abi's struggles following Mason Radcliffe's death.

"Abi is a really strong character, but she's going through her own turmoil at the same time," Brooks explained, adding: "Ultimately, it's about Kevin and Abi's relationship and testing that relationship."

Brooks also spoke about Kevin's attitude towards his diagnosis, saying that he will be "quite open about it".

"Kevin talks to Tim and Steve about it and they all have their own way of handling it," she said.

Kevin's storyline comes ahead of several big stories for the Websters this year, with Kevin's sister Debbie due to be diagnosed with dementia this year. The pair will also welcome their previously unseen half-brother, Carl, to the cobbles in 2025.

Coronation Street is set to revisit Cassie Plummer and Steve McDonald's romance storyline on Valentine's Day.

The pair were briefly romantically linked last year, though Steve has been cautious of Cassie in recent weeks as she continues to con Ken Barlow so she can keep her job as his unofficial carer.

However, in scenes set to air on Valentine's Day (February 14), Cassie tells Leanne that she has feelings for Steve.

Despite her recent one-night stand with Steve following her split from Nick Tilsley, Leanne encourages Cassie to go for it.

But as Leanne watches all the happy couples enjoying the Valentine's celebrations at The Rovers, she can't help but feel lonely and drowns her sorrows.

Will Leanne find her own match? And does Steve feel the same way about Cassie?

Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie, previously shared her hopes for a romance between Cassie and Steve.

"We saw the spark between them at the speed dating and it didn?t get off the ground, but they are good for each other. They are similar ages so they like the same things," she said.

"Even in real life, Simon and I sit and chat so much because we like the same movies and know all the same songs. There is familiarity in coming from the same era."

However, their potential relationship could all come crumbling down if Ken discovers that Cassie has been spiking his drinks with antihistamines to make him drowsy.

Although her behaviour has sparked suspicion from the Barlow family, Ken won't hear a bad word said against Cassie.

But when Cassie recently explained to Evelyn that she'll be moving in with Ken because he needs round-the-clock care, Evelyn couldn't help but feel suspicious. Will she play a role in Cassie's inevitable downfall?

Come on Evelyn!!!! Had enough of Cassie and Kenny
