Coronation Street's Dee-Dee Bailey is left in turmoil later this month as she discovers that Lauren Bolton's baby son Frankie is seriously ill.

Dee-Dee steps in to support Lauren after Frankie is rushed back into hospital with unexplained bruises.

Joel Deering's parents Gus and Anthea find the bruises on Frankie while spending time with their grandson next week.

Lauren initially assumes the couple are trying to set her up ahead of a potential custody battle, but all becomes clear when doctors give her Frankie's blood test results.

In scenes airing from December 16, Lauren tells her boyfriend Max Turner that Frankie's situation is more sinister than they first thought.

Meanwhile, Dee-Dee Bailey confides in her friend Sarah Barlow about how she has reached a decision over her secret pregnancy.

Viewers know that Dee-Dee has been struggling with the revelation that she's pregnant with Joel's baby. In a heart-to-heart with Sarah last month, Dee-Dee expressed her fears that the child would always remind her of evil Joel.

Dee-Dee's day is interrupted when Max warns her about Frankie's illness and how a distraught Lauren is struggling with her mental health.

Concerned, Dee-Dee heads to see Lauren at the hospital and promises to help her find a donor for Frankie.

With Dee-Dee aware that her unborn baby would be Frankie's half-sibling, and could be considered as a potential donor, will this affect her decision?

By the end of the week, the doctor officially confirms Frankie's diagnosis and promises to start the process of looking for a donor.

Knowing what's at stake, will this make Dee-Dee's choice even more difficult?

Coronation Street airs some early relationship challenges for Carla Connor and Lisa Swain later this month.

The pair recently decided to become an official couple, but it's clear that they're still finding their groove in upcoming scenes.

In the build-up to Christmas, viewers will see Carla and Lisa head to the Chariot Square Hotel to enjoy a spa afternoon together.

Debbie Webster happily declares that it's great to see two friends enjoying a spa day ? an assumption that Carla fails to correct. Will this disappoint Lisa?

A couple of days later, Carla's thoughts turn back to work as she prepares to meet up with an Underworld client.

Sarah Barlow and Izzy Armstrong gush over how handsome the guy in question is, leaving Lisa uncomfortable.

At the Bistro, Lisa struggles to contain her jealousy as she watches the client openly flirting with Carla. Will she keep quiet, or let her insecurities get the better of her?

Later that week, Carla's nephew Bobby Crawford invites Kirk Sutherland and Fiz Dobbs back to the flat. The rowdy trio have been kicked out of The Rovers for bringing in their own alcohol.

They look forward to drinking but are surprised when Lisa suddenly appears wearing a dressing gown. Is this the moment that Carla and Lisa's relationship will finally be revealed?

Carla initially flinches a little bit at the idea of people gossiping. It's not about sexuality, but she's a bit unsure.

"But once she realises everyone is absolutely fine about it, then it's all systems go. Christmas will be when they really commit to each other, when they declare how they feel for each other."

Coronation Street's David Platt faces another dangerous situation linked to Damon Hay's missing money later this month.

David encounters threats and intimidation from Mason Radcliffe's troublesome brothers Matty and Logan as his secret comes back to haunt him.

A few weeks ago, David was revealed as the mystery culprit who'd stolen a secret stash of cash from Damon's lock-up.

Damon had hidden the money away after his involvement in an armed robbery, which was organised by his dangerous brother Harvey Gaskell.

In October, Logan went looking for the money under instruction from Harvey. He broke into Sarah Barlow's flat while her daughter Bethany was home alone, putting her in danger.

There was relief for the Platts when Damon managed to throw Harvey off the right track over who stole the money, but their brief lifeline comes to an end later this month as Matty and Logan start asking questions again.

David is spooked when Matty and Logan confront him, demanding the truth over the stolen money.

When the sly siblings get nowhere, they change tactics by visiting David's gran Audrey Roberts at the salon.

The pair introduce themselves as friends of David's, but how far will they go to get answers?

Later that day, Jesse Chadwick asks David to pick up the rings from the jewellers as he makes preparations for his and Gail's wedding.

Coronation Street's Adam Barlow could face the wrath of David Platt in upcoming scenes.

Adam finds himself under suspicion as David remains uneasy over what happened during his wife Shona's recent mysterious night away.

The ITV soap has just revealed that Shona has cheated on David by sleeping with local policeman Kit Green.

Adam is reluctantly helping Shona to cover up her secret, without knowing the identity of the mystery man in question, although he has warned her that it's bound to be exposed eventually.

"This goes on to have massive consequences and Shona hits that self-destruct button in the build-up to Christmas and makes some really terrible judgement calls."

She added: "What is important for me about David and Shona is that they can both really mess up, but that love that they have is so strong.

Coronation Street's Audrey Roberts tries to sabotage her daughter Gail Rodwell's wedding plans later this month.

Audrey comes up with a con as she disapproves of Gail's plans to tie the knot with her old flame Jesse Chadwick.

Viewers have seen Gail and Jesse begin to make plans for a happy future away from Weatherfield after recently getting engaged.

The scenes are building up to Gail's departure from the cobbles, as Helen Worth is bowing out from the ITV soap after 50 years.

In scenes airing later this month, Audrey decides to play for sympathy from Gail by pretending to be unwell. She hopes that this will deter Gail from wanting to move away with Jesse.

Gail insists on taking Audrey's temperature when she claims to be ill. Staying one step ahead, Audrey secretly pops the thermometer into David's hot coffee to manipulate the result.

When Gail looks at the reading, she's alarmed and orders Audrey to see a doctor.

Later in the week, Gail ploughs on with the wedding plans by arranging a pre-ceremony pampering session for herself and her family at the salon.

Audrey hands out glasses of fizz, but lets her true feelings show over Gail's choice of husband by making some spiteful remarks about him. How will Gail respond?

This Christmas, Audrey's deception will be one of the secrets that comes to light as Gail faces some major decisions over her future.

"She doesn't know who to believe. Even her dear old mum has kind of lied to her and she really struggles with that. She's thinking: 'I don't know whether I want this. I don't know whether I want to be with Jesse'.

"She contemplates and questions everything and every decision she's ever made. Obviously Gail has had a really colourful past, so that's a big part of that Christmas Day episode, but she is there and she is going to leave the Street and it's going to be so wonderful and sad."

Finally, as Chesney pulls up in his car, he clocks the man in the van across the street. As the van pulls away, Chesney follows on. In Freshco car park, Chesney slips behind the van and pulls out a bag of sugar. What is Chesney going to do?

Finally, a worried Toyah confides in Leanne and Amy that she's hardly any money left in her account and she's up to her limit on her credit card.

Leanne tells Toyah and Amy that it would appear the wine company has overcharged them and Amy agrees to check the accounts. In the bistro office, Leanne transfers ?300 from the Bistro account to Toyah's fake account.
