Ross Barton (played by Michael Parr) has been hoping to reconnect with his young son, Moses Dingle, since returning to the village
However, Ross is shocked to find Moses is now petrified of him...
Which perhaps is no surprise, since Moses has already witnessed his dad's violent side and almost got shot by him in the barn where Ross was bare-knuckle boxing!
Ross feels defeated when Moses doesn't want to be near him.
Seeing their son is scared, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) quickly sends one-time lover Ross packing...
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) wants to throw a SURPRISE party to celebrate husband Cain's (Jeff Hordley) birthday.
Moira's son, Matty (Ash Palmisciano), is worried that she's not well enough to arrange a party while she's recovering from her recent brain surgery.
But Moira is determined to show her thanks to Cain for supporting her through her darkest hour...
However, Moira might not be feeling quite so generous if she knew what Cain and Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) got up to at the village garage while she was in hospital going under the surgeon's knife!
In the mean time, Cain continues to feel overwhelmed with guilt over his betrayal...
Meanwhile, Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) renews her attempts to get her dad, Jimmy (Nick Miles), to read a letter written by his nephew, Tom (James Chase).
Tom is currently behind bars after being charged with domestic violence and coercive controlling behaviour towards his wife, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).
Angelica has secretly contacted Tom in prison after his arrest...
But will Jimmy see through Tom's attempt to further manipulate his family with more lies about what happened between him and Belle?

Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) is laying low with a very guilty conscience
While his wife, Moira (Natalie J Robb), prepares for another hospital visit to receive her pathology results, Cain is nowhere to be found!
Moira is anxious not to have heard from Cain all night.
Little does she know that he is trying to avoid her, after secretly sleeping with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) on the day of Moira's life-changing brain surgery!
Unable to postpone her appointment any longer, Moira prepares to find out her test results alone...
Meanwhile, things go from bad to worse for Cain when he gets pulled over on the road by PC Swirling (Andy Moore).
Cain is stressed-out that he is going to miss Moira's appointment and starts to get aggressive with the Police...
It's not long before Cain finds himself ARRESTED!
Will Moira be able to forgive Cain for abandoning her on such an important day?
And what will her hospital test results reveal?
Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) is not happy after finding out about his son-in-law, Caleb Miligan's (William Ash) previous affair with villager Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh).
Anthony has never approved of his daughter Ruby's marriage to Caleb.
So this is just the ammunition he needs to challenge Caleb about his intentions towards Ruby.
Ruby is left unsettled after angry Anthony confronts Caleb about the affair and won't let the matter drop...

However, now Cain has even more to feel guilty about.
His temporary arrest caused him to miss wife Moira's (Natalie J Robb) important hospital appointment.
So she went alone to find out her pathology test results and discovered she will need to have radiotherapy after her recent brain surgery...
Meanwhile, Cain attempts to ease his guilty conscience by hitting the booze.
Village doctor Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) is concerned when he finds Cain drunk at the allotment.
Liam drives Cain back home.
But Moira is not happy about her husband's behaviour, considering she is planning a SURPRISE birthday party for him!
Overwhelmed with the guilt of having betrayed Moira by hooking-up with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) at the village garage, will Cain finally come clean about what he has done?
Meanwhile, Ruby has no intention of mentioning THE incident now that she is back in a good place with her husband/ Cain's brother, Caleb (William Ash).
As Christmas approaches, Ruby wants to focus on repairing her relationship with her previously estranged daughter, Steph (Georgia Jay).
However, her dad Anthony's (Nicholas Day) dark mood, after finding out about Caleb's previous affair with villager Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh), is still like a storm cloud hovering over the Fox-Miligan family.

In the present day, Steph Miligan (played by Georgia Jay) finds a photo of her mum, Ruby (Beth Cordingly), taken on her 16th birthday back in 1992.
Ruby pretends she doesn't remember the photo being taken.
But in private, she's triggered by the photo which brings back some troublesome memories from the past...
As the episode rewinds back in time to 1992, will we find out more about how teenager Ruby first became romantically involved with her now husband, Caleb (William Ash)?
Which would later cause a HUGE family fallout...
Jimmy King (Nick Miles) is convinced to visit his nephew, Tom (James Chase), behind bars after being emotionally blackmailed by his teenage daughter, Angelica (Rebecca Bakes).
Tom is pleading not guilty to the charges against him, and sticks to his story that his estranged wife, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), is to blame for what has happened to him.
Will Jimmy see through Tom's crocodile tears and claim that he is an innocent man?
Meanwhile, Angelica has totally fallen for Tom's manipulation.
But her parents, Jimmy and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), are unaware that the schoolgirl is about to resort to desperate measures to help Tom's cause...

Kim wanted payback on Will after she found out that he slept with his first wife, Rose Jackson, back in the summer.
But Kim's plan to send Will packing took a near-fatal turn when she hired bad boy Ross Barton (Michael Parr) to "remove" her hated husband from the village.
During a struggle with Ross, Will fell and hit and his head and was later left for DEAD...
However, the couple have since reunited and Kim has agreed to cancel their divorce proceedings.
But little does she know, Will is now in cahoots with her former financial advisor lover, Peter (David Michaels).
The men are plotting to bring down the Home Farm bosslady...
