Coronation Street is set to introduce Mason Radcliffe's brother Logan in upcoming scenes.
Next week, newcomer Harry Lowbridge will make his first appearance as Mason's older sibling Logan, who has previously been mentioned as having a violent temper.
Stu Carpenter took in Mason following his release from a youth offender home, where he'd been serving a sentence for threatening Liam Connor with a knife.
Mason recently faced more trouble when Betsy Swain framed him for theft at Speed Daal, though Dylan Wilson ultimately cleared Mason's name.
The soap is set to revisit violence in the Radcliffe home when Stu learns that Mason has once again been tormented by his older brothers.
Stu marches over to confront Logan after Mason points out that his brother is watching him from his car down the street. Logan speeds off before Stu can get to him.
However, Stu and Yasmeen are faced with the terror of someone throwing a brick through their front window once they arrive home.
Stu automatically suspects Logan as the culprit, since he recently tried to force his younger sibling to take part in a robbery.
Yasmeen has been uneasy about Stu's growing bond with Mason and this violent incident at her home may well push her past her limits.
These scenes will air on Friday, October 11.
Earlier this year, Mason actor Luca Toolan confirmed that the soap would be exploring the character's traumatic backstory as a way to show another side to him.
"I think this is the kind of abuse Mason has faced his whole life which unfortunately is what has shaped him into the kind of person he is today," he said.
"I think once Mason is fully back on screen, we will see little nuggets of things which we will be able to explore further into his backstory and give a clearer insight into his family life."
