Coronation Street villain Joel Deering becomes increasingly erratic next week as his comeuppance seems to be getting ever closer.
The tables finally started to turn on Joel this week as Dee-Dee Bailey and DS Swain convinced Ellie ? one of his former victims ? to make an official statement against him.
Walcotts, the legal firm Joel used to work for, also agreed to get involved in the case against him after previously helping to cover up his wrongdoing.
In next week's episodes, Joel's behaviour takes an unpredictable turn as he makes several surprising decisions.
First up, Joel approaches Dee-Dee with their wedding rings and announces that he still loves her.
Joel appears emotional and desperate as he claims that the rings are a reminder of everything he has lost.
Dee-Dee is disgusted by his behaviour, forcing her father Ed and uncle Ronnie to step in ? but will they take the law into their own hands?
Later in the week, Lauren Bolton updates Dee-Dee on Joel's movements as she's still secretly monitoring him via a tracking app.
Lauren explains that Joel has been spending considerable amounts of time in a field and an industrial park.
To make matters more confusing, Joel has also sent ?5,000 to Lauren's bank account with no explanation. Could this be a trap?
By the end of the week, Joel sits alone in his flat and writes a note, before heading to the caf? on a new mission.
Clearly drunk as he stumbles in clutching a bottle of whisky, Joel locks the door behind him and confronts Roy Cropper. Is Roy in danger?

Coronation Street's Mason Radcliffe makes another return to the cobbles next week after the truth about the recent Speed Daal theft is revealed.
Mason sparks an angry showdown as he tries to settle some scores following his latest stint in Young Offenders.
Last month, Betsy Swain became upset after repeated romantic rejections from Mason.
The troublesome teenager took her revenge by planting a customer's purse inside Mason's jacket at Speed Daal.
Mason was mortified as he realised that Betsy had set him up, but nobody believed his protestations of innocence. As Mason was still on parole following the knife crime incident with Liam Connor, he was sent straight back to Young Offenders to serve further time.
Next week, Dylan Wilson urges Betsy to come clean about who was really to blame for the purse incident.
When Betsy refuses, Dylan takes matters into his own hands by telling his dad Sean Tully the truth.
Later in the week, Betsy, Dylan and Liam all meet up to discuss the news that Mason is being released.
Sure enough, Mason soon arrives to confront his enemies. Fortunately, Liam wastes no time before tipping off his stepdad Gary Windass, who breaks up the row by grabbing Mason.
Stu Carpenter is also quick on the scene and he shows where his loyalties lie by pulling Gary off Mason.
Feeling terrible over how things went last month, Stu apologises to Mason for not believing him and offers him his job back.
Later in the week, there are signs of further trouble for Mason when he turns up for work at Speed Daal with a black eye. He claims that he hit his head in an accident.
That evening, Mason sneaks back into the restaurant once it's closed and pulls out his sleeping bag, needing somewhere to stay. Will Stu and Yasmeen find out how much he's still struggling?
Coronation Street airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, September 23.

Also today, with Bernie and Billy still clashing about the details of Paul's funeral, Gemma suggests letting Bernie do it Billy's way and suggests they organise their own send-off for Paul afterwards and come up with a plan to throw a rave. How will Billy react?
Finally, Roy calls at the hospital on his way to a train event to check on Lauren. Roy finds Lauren in tears explaining that Frankie is having a scan to check for any brain damage.

joel suicide?
If Joel does commit suicide, it would be a typical soap cop out. No trial, no comeuppance for Joel, but easy for scriptwriters.
