Teddy Mitchell's generous offer may prove to have strings attached

Teddy Mitchell has been a bit of an enigma since he arrived in Albert Square but it's clear he's been sussing out the locals and his newfound Mitchell family.

When cousin Phil Mitchell loses his cool with Reiss Colwell over the money he stole from him and business partner Sharon Watts, Teddy helps calm the situation.

As Reiss' partner Sonia Jackson pleads with Sharon to persuade Phil to give them more time to repay the debt, Teddy starts plotting.

Approaching Phil, he suggests he buy the debt off him and deal with Reiss's repayment plan himself.

When Reiss learns the news he's filled with relief to be off the hook with a raging Phil but will Teddy turn out to be a chip off the old Mitchell block and have bigger plans for Reiss than he's letting on?

Junior Knight is playing it cool after half-sister Gina Knight worked out that he was seeing a mystery woman. Little does Gina know that Junior's secret lover is Gina's mother Cindy Beale!

Both Gina and her dad George Knight are keen to know who Junior is bedding and Gina attempts to do some detective work by breaking into Junior's phone.

When Cindy catches Gina in the act, she's alarmed and demands to know what she's up to, later telling Junior that they're at risk of being found out.

After Junior fails to show for a secret rendezvous, a furious Cindy heads to The Vic to find him and is stunned to see him sitting at the bar with a glamorous blonde. Things get even worse, when Junior then introduces 'Maxine' to the family as his new girlfriend!

Cindy is seething with jealousy but Junior encourages her to chill, insisting that he's trying to throw the family off the scent.

Harvey Monroe is determined to keep good on his promise to help out Maya Houssain, whose husband was injured by the actions of his jailbird racist son Aaron.

Harvey first met Maya when she turned up in the Square and they bonded over their shared love of football team Spurs.

The truth finally came out about Maya's real link to the Monroe family and when Harvey's partner Jean Slater found out she insisted that Harvey keep his distance.

Taking on the guilt for Aaron's awful actions, Harvey secretly started to give Maya regular money to help her and her husband out of financial difficulties, but it's taking a toll.

Working all hours to make extra cash, he's been neglecting Jean and she's hurt and frustrated when he turns down spending time with her to take on another job.

Also, Kathy Beale returns from the US without son Ian Beale, who's stayed behind to give an imprisoned Ben Mitchell extra support.


Tuesday

Sonia Fowler and Reiss Colwell face a murder charge

Sonia Fowler is stressing about her IVF pregnancy with her eight-week viability scan fast approaching.

The last thing she could do with is more nasty surprises about Reiss so when Sharon Watts reveals they're now in debt to Teddy Mitchell and not Phil Mitchell, she's furious that Reiss has neglected to tell her.

Confronting her fiance, Sonia tells him that it's too risky for them to be in hock to someone they don't know. After returning from the scan, Reiss is alarmed after Martin Fowler informs them that the police have been round asking questions about Reiss and his dead wife Debbie.

Terrified that he'll be found out for smothering coma victim Debbie with a pillow in her care home, Reiss goes into a panic attack.

Completely oblivious to the fact that Reiss murdered Debbie, Sonia encourages him to calm down, insisting that it's nothing to worry about.

The couple head over to The Vic for an engagement party, kindly arranged by Sonia's friend Kathy Beale. As they toast to their future the police burst in and arrest them both for murder!

Cindy Beale is furious with secret lover Junior Knight for hooking up with another woman and showing her off to his family!

Although Junior insists that his 'girlfriend' Maxine will stop anyone uncovering their affair, Cindy is not the kind of woman to play second fiddle.

When Gina Knight gossips that Junior slept with Maxine, Cindy's mood darkens and she gives him a frosty reception.

Junior accuses her of overreacting but Cindy darkly gives him an ultimatum and tells Junior it's either her or Maxine.

What will Junior do?

Harvey Monroe has been out all night working in the cab to make extra money to give to Maya Houssain, after promising her to recompense her for his racist son's actions against her family. Already fed up with the amount of time Harvey's out of the house, his partner Jean Slater confronts him about not coming home last night.

Insisting that nothing funny has been going on, he says he's just trying to earn them some more cash. Promising Jean to do more for the family, he offers to pick up her great-granddaughter Charlie from the nursery.

Exhausted after being up all night, after strapping Charli into the car seat he falls asleep. The sun is beating down on the car and poor little Charlie is starting to overheat.

Jack Branning sees Harvey and Charlie in the car and he wakes up an alarmed Harvey. They rush Charli to the hospital to make sure she's okay and Harvey is horrified that he let such an awful thing happen.

Also, Teddy Mitchell moves into his new house, No.1 Albert Square just purchased from murderer Gray Atkins!


Wednesday

Reiss Colwell is under pressure when the police want answers about Debbie's murder

Reiss Colwell has revealed a VERY dark side after murdering his wife Debbie Colwell!

The mild-mannered account finished off coma victim Debbie by smothering her with a pillow, when debts for her care home started to mount up.

Debbie had been in a coma for years after suffering a stroke in the bath but Reiss had tried to rebuild his life after meeting Sonia Jackson.

When the pair decided to try for an IVF baby, Reiss siphoned money out of Debbie's account to pay for the medical bills and things began to snowball, leading to Reiss' terrible and desperate act.

It seems that his killer actions have finally caught up with him after the police gatecrashed his and Sonia's engagement party at The Vic and they were BOTH arrested for murder!

At the police station, Sonia and Reiss are grilled by the detectives who reveal that there is physical evidence that Debbie was murdered.

Will Reiss crack and tell the truth?

Teddy Mitchell tells a surprised Billy Mitchell and his wife Honey Mitchell that he's going to be their neighbour!

Billy's long-lost brother Teddy has only recently got to know the Walford side of the family after being introduced by dad Stevie Mitchell and he's keen to make connections.

Teddy reveals that he's bought Gray Atkins' house and he's intrigued when Billy and Honey reveal that jailbird Gray is in prison for murdering Chantelle Atkins and Tina Carter.

The news doesn't seem to faze Teddy but when his son Harry Mitchell makes a tactless remark to Gray's second wife Chelsea Fox, Teddy gives him a warning.

Insisting that they need to make friends in Albert Square, not enemies, he marches him round to the Fox house to apologise.

Determined to win a few of the locals over to his side, Teddy decides to host a housewarming party.

Cindy Beale was FUMING when she caught her secret lover Junior Knight parading around another woman, Maxine!

An unrepentant Junior insisted that his new "girlfriend" was cover for their affair, but Cindy wasn't having any of it.

After telling Junior that it was either her or Maxine, Cindy expects results and Junior knows just how to play her.

Making sure Cindy is in earshot, he tells his sister Gina Knight that he's dumped Maxine and a smug Cindy secretly smiles.

Also, Harvey Monroe and Jean Slater's relationship is in the balance over his dangerous mistake with baby Charli.

Chelsea Fox is taken by surprise when she learns something about her murderous ex Gray Atkins

Chelsea Fox has managed to put her terrifying past behind her after ex-husband Gray Atkins was banged up for murdering his first wife Chantelle Atkins and barmaid Tina Carter!

Ever since Gray was jailed, Chelsea has been living in their shared home with her son Jordan and renting out the rooms to pay for its upkeep.

When Gray revealed that he was selling up, Chelsea was gutted to have to move in with her mum Denise Fox and the family, as she'd really made No.1 into a welcoming home.

The house's new owner is Teddy Mitchell, who has moved in with his sons Harry Mitchell and Barney Mitchell.

Determined to win round the locals, Teddy throws a housewarming party and invites the residents of the Square.

When Teddy turns on the charm, Chelsea and her aunt Kim Fox are soon won over but Teddy has a shock in store for Chelsea.

He tells her that before he signed on the dotted line to buy the house, he insisted that Gray agreed to a special clause in the contract...

What could it be?

Later, Harry tells Teddy that 'you know who' has been sniffing around trying to find out where they've moved to. Is Harry talking about Teddy's dad Stevie Mitchell or someone else?

Also, George Knight gives Junior Knight some relationship advice which Junior uses to his own advantage!

EastEnders has confirmed that Sonia Fowler and Reiss Colwell will be arrested for Debbie?s murder next week.

Reiss has been in a desperate financial situation in recent weeks, and last month he took deadly action and killed his comatose wife Debbie in the care home.

Since then, he has had to face Debbie?s parents, with her mum Brenda being convinced that he is putting on an act.

He also convinced Sharon about a fake investment scheme ? so he could get cash to pay for Debbie?s care fees ? but he now faces the wrath of Phil as the deadline approaches for him to pay him back double.

In scenes that will air next week, Phil?s final deadline for the money arrives and Reiss is feeling anxious.

To take his mind off things, he asks Sonia to go for a day out, but she refuses ? while she is happy to hear that Kathy wants to throw them an engagement party.

Time runs out and a furious Phil turns up at the door, and Reiss must tell Sonia that he had to pay him back his money by today but isn?t able to.

Teddy and Sharon get involved to calm the situation, and Sonia buys Reiss some more time by pleading with Sharon.

But in an unexpected twist, Teddy decides to take on Phil?s debt, and a shocked Reiss shakes on a deal that feels too good to be true.

Sonia is concerned about her eight-week viability scan for her pregnancy, and she has more to worry about when Sharon tells her about Teddy?s offer.

Sonia confronts Reiss at the scan, annoyed that he didn?t tell her, and says it is madness to strike a deal with someone he barely knows.

But the couple soon have more pressing concerns, as back on the Square, Martin tells Reiss that the police have called round to ask questions about him and Debbie.

Scared about what this means, Reiss has a panic attack at home, and Sonia manages to calm him down ? while remaining in the dark about what he has done.

They head to The Vic to enjoy their engagement party, but it isn?t long before the police arrive. Pictures released last week show Sonia and Reiss getting arrested, but the soap has now confirmed that it is for Debbie?s murder.

In dramatic scenes, the pair are questioned by the detectives, who reveal that they have physical evidence that Debbie was killed.

Has Reiss been caught, and will clueless Sonia be punished as well?

Phil turns up at Sonia and Reiss's place in a fury, as deadline day has arrived over the money. Reiss admits to Sonia that he's supposed to pay Phil back today but can't. When Teddy and Sharon intervene, Sonia manages to buy them some time by making a plea to Sharon.

Teddy decides to take on the debt from Phil. Although Reiss is shocked, he shakes on the deal and hopes it's not too good to be true.

Meanwhile, Gina does George's bidding by trying to find out who Junior's mystery woman is. Cindy warns Junior after spotting Gina trying to break into his phone.

Later, Cindy gets jealous when she finds Junior introducing a date, Maxine, to his family. He insists to her that he's merely trying to throw his family off the scent.

Elsewhere, Harvey is pushing himself too hard while trying to make money for Maya.

Also today, Kathy returns from the US and informs Phil that Ben is in a bad way. Ian has decided to stay on in the States for a while longer, hoping to get Ben a better lawyer for his appeal.

Sonia is annoyed when Sharon mentions that Teddy took on the debt, as Reiss hadn't told her. She ends up confronting Reiss at her eight-week viability scan, questioning why he'd make a deal with a stranger.

Later, Reiss has a panic attack when Martin warns him that the police have visited to ask more questions about him and Debbie. Reiss and Sonia try to take their mind off things by attending their engagement party, but the police turn up to arrest them both for Debbie's murder.

Meanwhile, Cindy gives Junior the cold shoulder after Gina mentions that he slept with Maxine. Junior accuses Cindy of overreacting, but she warns him that he can't be with anyone else if he wants their affair to continue.

Elsewhere, Harvey has been working all night to make more money. This has worrying consequences when he falls asleep in the hot car with baby Charli in the back. Jack fortunately spots them in time and Charli is rushed to hospital, where Harvey regrets letting this situation happen.

Also today, Teddy is revealed as No.1's new owner as he has bought the place to help him and the boys start again.

The detectives reveal that they have physical evidence proving that Debbie was murdered.

Meanwhile, as the new Mitchells settle into No.1, Harry makes a tactless remark in front of Chelsea about the crimes that Gray committed when he lived there.

Teddy forces Harry to apologise to Chelsea, reminding him that they need to make friends in the community. He suggests throwing a housewarming party and inviting the neighbours.

Elsewhere, Jean and Harvey's relationship hangs by a thread after recent events.

Also today, Cindy is pleased that Junior has chosen her when she finds out that he has ended things with Maxine.
