Neighbours will introduce a surprise new resident at the street's share house in upcoming scenes, as Byron and Nicolette Stone get more than they bargained for in their hunt for a housemate.

Since previous residents Haz Devkar and Mackenzie Hargreaves moved to Paris together, and Krista Sinclair decided to move in with Melanie Pearson, Byron and Nicolette have been on the lookout for someone new to move in with them at Number 32.

In new scenes, Sadie Rodwell begs Byron and Nicolette to host a Halloween party at the house before she moves out following her short-term stay.

ut when Byron and Nicolette put a dampener on Sadie's plans by announcing that they'll both be at work on Halloween evening, Sadie comes up with a new idea ? a daytime gathering called the Sun-up Spooktacular.

As Sadie makes plans to invite all the neighbours, the housemates worry about how their difficult landlady Vera Punt might react. But they soon come up with an idea ? if they invite her to the party, she won't complain about the noise.

As the celebrations get underway, Aaron Brennan feels uneasy when he spots Rhett Norman at the party. He admits to Nicolette that he doesn't feel able to trust Rhett after he lied about why he was at the recent open house, as he continues to worry about Rhett's intentions.

Later in the evening, a drunken Vera announces that she's had such a great time at the party that she is considering moving into the house herself.

When Byron and Nicolette seem reluctant, Vera admits that Rhett has just sold her house for her and she's going to be homeless soon.

After Aaron hears the news, he realises why Rhett really lied about why he was at the open house ? he was just trying to keep Vera's secret for her. Aaron soon makes up with Rhett, but the problem with Vera remains.

After Byron, Nicolette, Aaron and Sadie encourage Vera to open up about her decision to sell her house, she eventually admits that she was forced to make the move because she's been struggling with a gambling addiction.

After hearing the news, Byron feels moved to let Vera join them at the share house, but Nicolette still isn't keen.

Trying to bring his sister round, Byron reminds her of how guilty he feels about Vera missing Mackenzie and Haz's wedding, and also brings up the fact that their recent financial windfall has been a huge boost.

After Byron promises Nicolette that Vera living with them will only be temporary, she finally agrees to give it a go.

It isn't long before Vera arrives at their door with armfuls of cat figurines and then announces that they should go skinny dipping. Byron and Nicolette are left worrying about what they might have just signed up for. Will Vera's arrival cause nothing but trouble for the siblings?

Neighbours' Vera Punt is set to have another confrontation with her tenants over their plan to get her to move to Eirini Rising.

The house-share gang ? Byron Stone, Sadie Rodwell, Max Ramsay Jr ? took umbrage when their older landlord Vera moved in with them and annoyed them with her overbearing nature. She agreed that she needed to make some friends her own age, but when they suggested she move into the Eirini Rising retirement complex, she was furious.

In scenes set to air on Thursday (January 23), hairdresser Gino Esposito tells Sadie and Holly Hoyland how much he's enjoying living at the complex.

Sadie then decides to organise a pamper session for Vera, inevitably leading to him discussing the pros of life at Eirini Rising. Already in a great mood at having a legendary hairdresser work his magic on her, she responds positively to the thought of living there.

Sadie is thrilled that her plan is working, but Byron overdoes selling the idea, and Vera cottons on to what they're doing.

She's incensed and refuses to consider the idea of moving to the complex. Sadie is similarly annoyed at Byron for messing it up.

Will the younger housemates just have to learn to live with Vera, or will they find a way to convince her?

Neighbours will air a big change for Vera Punt next week, as the house share gang continue to push to get their older landlord to move out of their home.

After Vera moved into the house with her young tenants Byron Stone, Sadie Rodwell and Max Ramsay Jr, they started to become increasingly irritated by her behaviour.

After they inadvertently upset Vera by making it clear that they don't consider her to be a good friend of theirs, she acknowledged that it would be good to make some new friends her own age and to live with an older housemate.

The share house gang have since started making efforts to encourage Vera to move into retirement complex Eirini Rising, but their plan backfires on them this week when Byron takes things too far and Vera vows not to move.

However, in scenes that will air next Monday (January 27), Vera surprises Byron, Sadie and Max when she reveals that she is reconsidering a move to Eirini Rising after all.

Sadie accompanies Vera on a tour of the complex and its facilities, and Vera soon decides that Eirini Rising is the right place for her after all.

After Terese Willis helps out with the finance side of things, Vera happily signs her contract to move into the retirement complex, and she's soon moving out of the share house.

However, in true Vera style, she's soon upsetting her fellow Eirini residents after she makes her presence felt, and is branded a gossip and a troublemaker by some of her new neighbours.

But Vera isn't bothered by their words, as she cheekily suggests that the place needs a shake-up and she isn't afraid to be the person to do it.

Will Vera manage to make new friends, or will her big move cause her more heartache?

Neighbours will air these scenes on Monday, January 27.
