Home and Away spoilers follow for Australian-pace episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away has revealed dramatic scenes for Dana Matheson as she makes an enemy of Summer Bay newcomer Bronte.

Dana finds herself in terrible danger in next week's Australian-pace episodes after realising that Bronte is lying to Irene Roberts.

Earlier this week, Bronte arrived in the Bay after a chance meeting with Irene in the city.

Kind-hearted Irene announced that Bronte would be staying at her place for a while, as she was seriously unwell and had nobody else to rely on.

Bronte later claimed that she'd received test results indicating that her illness is terminal, with costly experimental treatment her only real chance at tackling it.

While Irene was full of sympathy for her new friend, viewers saw Bronte make secret phone calls to an unknown contact, confirming that she was scamming Irene and saw her as a "pushover".

Home and Away's newest trailer now shows this storyline taking a worrying turn as Irene and Leah Patterson unite to offer Bronte financial support.

The friends inform Bronte that they plan to give her $50,000, leaving her delighted by how gullible they both are.

Not everybody is fooled so easily, though, as Dana confronts Bronte and accuses her of faking her illness.

Bronte's demeanour immediately changes as she smugly challenges Dana to prove her theory.

When Dana gets too close to the truth, Bronte teams up with her accomplice to kidnap the suspicious nurse and hold her captive.

It's the second time that Dana has been kidnapped in the past 12 months, as she was previously held hostage by corrupt cop DS Madden last year.

With Dana out of the way, are Irene and Leah about to hand over their savings to a con artist?

Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 in late July.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.

The fate of Summer Bay's Diner and one of its most enduring friendships hangs in the balance in Home And Away as the fallout from the shock water contamination continues this week.

In addition to learning that their business? water supply has been contaminated, the Diner's owners - Irene (Lynne McGranger) and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) - are shocked to learn that an affected patron is suing them for $50,000.

And while Irene is on the phone to the insurance company, negotiating a way to cover the cost, who's listening in? Irene's other main financial burden, con artist Bronte (Stefanie Caccamo).

"It's dollar-sign eyes," Stefanie tells TV WEEK. "Bronte could potentially score more money than she's ever scammed before. Jack. Pot."

Scheming Bronte sits down with Irene to tell her she too has been poisoned by the water at the Diner and that it?s worsened her autoimmune disease. Her claim leads Irene to do the unthinkable - she asks Bronte to sue her as well!

"It's a remarkable moment," Stefanie says. "Bronte has never experienced generosity like Irene's. I think she almost feels guilty? but only for a second."

Also taken aback by Irene's move is Leah, who can't believe she's putting their finances and friendship at risk. Is she not thinking of Leah at all"

Not heeding advice to reconsider, Irene forges on - in doing so, straining her friendship with Leah so severely, there may be no way to salvage it.

Can the Diner withstand this disaster, or will it buckle under the weight and take Irene and Leah down with it?

Its about time Eden got a job. How is this grown woman living in a shared house without spending a dollar? I don?t know why her character is written like that. She has no job or ever tried to get one. They don?t play gigs anymore. Only Kirby is making money for all three of them. Very unrealistic situation. It?s not like she?s unwell to work or having some kind of hardship. Unless she has a big trust fund that her parents have created for her that the writers have forgotten to mention. Eden?s character is mostly spending her time investing in other people?s business. Others wouldn?t put up with that in real life.

SPOILER ALERT!

When Dana doesn't answer Xander's many calls/messages he gets worried & then is suspicious when Bronte tells him that Dana called Irene's house phone & told her (Bronte says she answered the phone) that she was going to a 'retreat up the coast' to get away for a while. Xander shares his suspicions with John - why would Dana ring Irene's house phone & not her mobile? Why would Dana tell Bronte (who she despises) that she is going away, rather than tell Xander or her sister? Dana isn't the sort of person to go to a 'retreat'? etc etc. John agrees with Xander that it is all suspicious. Then while they are talking outside the Surf Club, they see Bronte drive past in Irene's car (she has stolen it!). So, they hop in John's car & follow Bronte, who leads them to where they have Dana captive. Meanwhile, Dana has escaped from the shipping container they were keeping her in, after tricking Bronte's mate & is trying to hide from them in the bush. Xander & John have now called the police with the location & Xander then finds/runs into Dana as she is trying to escape. The police arrive, as always, in the nick of time, & Bronte & her mate are arrested - it seems that they have scammed numerous people in the past...
