    Exclamation Warren Finn (Neil Roberts)

Emmerdale star Neil Roberts is joining the cast of EastEnders as part of George Knight's ongoing storyline.

The actor is best known for portraying Rex Buckland in the supernatural drama Charmed, a warlock hellbent on destroying the Charmed Ones.

He has also held roles in Nick Fury: Agent Of Shield, Mum's List, and Second Civil War as well as Emmerdale, where he has periodically appeared as DS Jason Wise since 2016 until his most recent appearance in the soap in 2023.

Roberts will now be swapping the Dales for Albert Square as he stars as barrister Warren Finn, who is hired to represent George's evil and manipulative adoptive father Eddie Knight.

Episodes over recent months have seen George rocked by the arrival of Eddie and his mum Gloria on the Square, causing friction between them as well as with George's ex-partner Cindy Beale.

George soon uncovered that he was adopted by the couple as a result of a practice known as child farming, and to add more pain, he was asked by Eddie to speak in court as part of an upcoming trial he was facing for murdering George's biological father.

Upcoming scenes will see the stress of the trial become too much for Gloria, who suffers a heart attack while still in the courthouse, leaving George struggling to make peace with his critically ill mother after he discovered she was still under Eddie's clutches despite begging George to testify against him.

George actor Colin Salmon recently opened up about how the prospect of losing Gloria shocks his character.

"I don't think people can underestimate the impact of stress on a human body. I think one of the reasons Gloria and George are so close is they've both lived with Eddie who is a bully, which is one of the reasons George cares so much for her," he said.

"She's helped him get through it and he's helped her get through it. The fact that Eddie feels she has been treacherous, and he wants to punish her for it, is just too much for her. Gloria is a bit like a sparrow if you've ever caught one in your hand, you feel her heart pounding, and it just becomes too much ? but I am glad George is able to be there for her."
