Every new character that is being introduced long term gets a personality transplant before long. Either lovely and pleasant to start with until something triggers them or they are horrible and vile and then something happens that makes them have a total reversal of character. I hope that Tom is going to be banished from Emmerdale rather than being killed off but I sure do not want him to show real remorse and is then forgiven by the Dingles
