i think she made up the whole closet thing, she just used it now to make stuart feel guilty about going out because she didn't want him to go, again it seems convenient she had a flashback while stuart was gone, just like the other day when she was asleep on the couch and susan mentioned maybe the hypno thing wasn't legit she conveniently woke up in a state saying edith.
